Photography Photo Editing

Jan 12, 2018

    1. Hi there! I'm new to Lightroom, and Photoshop for photos (instead of coloring in sketches) so any critique/tips for this edit would be very appreciated!

Comments on the pose/ styling are welcome too. I really want to improve! Here's a before/ after:

    2. The effect looks pretty ^-^ don't know what to criticise on this:lol: I think it's nice. The skin colour changed but it isn't negatively.

    3. Did you use flash for this photo? If so, you could try taking a photo with and without flash and then you can lighten the ones without flash or darken the ones with flash. Different effects.

Only complaint would be the light reflection in mid to top right corner. I'm wondering if you could blend that out.

Looks great though! The skin looks so good in the edited photo!

    4. One other thing.... right below the ankle is a bright silvery sparkle. It distracts from the sparkle in the skirt because it's brighter than the sparkle in dress. You could totally spot blend that out too. I don't know all the correct terminology for Photoshop so sadly I can't tell you technically how to do it. I can only give you visual advice. Hope it helps! But it looks good. I like her pose!

    5. Aaah, thank you! :)

Thanks for your feedback! This photo is with flash, that glare and the sparkle is pretty annoying. I tried blurring them out - the sparkle went away fine because its a small spot, but the glare was a little more difficult and I'm not sure how successful I was. I can still sort of see the spot @.@

    6. That's perfect! You can only see it because you know it used to be there.... but it does not stick out AT ALL. Now, all that is seen is the best part, your doll posing like a cutie patooty! YAY! You did it! Woooo!

    7. Lightroom is a great tool, I use it for all my base editing. Your final after the sparkle is gone is looking pretty good. I would just play with the exposure and see if you like the doll a bit lighter. I'd mask so not to ruin that cool deep maroon you got on the edge.
