Phicen Figure Question

May 27, 2021

    1. When I was looking for outfits and shoes I found out about Phicen dolls or figures. They are made of silicon with metal joints. I would like to buy one to check them out but they cost a lot to me, (on a budget), but some of the outfits and shoes are affordable. I was wondering if someone has had luck with making these outfits work on more standard dolls?

    2. I love 1:6 figures, but only own one single female Phicen/TBLeauge body, with an outfit specifically made for the body of that brand but with a much larger bust. I don't believe the clothes would fit on other more popular tiny dolls, because most tend to be babies. The Phicen clothes are meant for mature female (mostly) bodies, most with very large busts. The figures are proportioned more like actual people, so if it's a mature tiny with realistic proportions, the clothes might work, but if it's a baby, it's probably not likely to fit. The shoes are also made to be used on realistic proportioned feet, or have sculpted feet already in them so those will probably not fit many dolls at all. The ones meant to be worn on feet, might work for mature tiny BJD. I have seen people using Barbie and other fashion doll clothes on mature tinies successfully, but I have never seen Phicen meant ones. I don't currently own any tiny BJD bodies, but I did own a baby male one so I definitely don't believe most clothes will fit the babies, but maybe the socks and underwear might. That's probably not helpful, but I thought I would share my limited knowledge nonetheless. (:

    3. I agree with enzyme about the Pichen bodies being bigger than other action figures. I have one of the male bodies, the medium muscle one, and he is significantly bigger than my Hot Toys regular sized guy. It’s all that beefy silicone!

    4. Are the feet on the females high heeled feet? I was looking at a pairs of pumps at a great price. I guess the reason I posted on this board is the size of dolls. I have barbie sized 12 inch types. Would these shoes be more like disney princess shoes, not so high arched and wider or more high fashion arched and narrow? I would like one of these dolls some day to check them out, but huge bust is not very appearing to me.

    5. If the shoes are high heels, then yes they will be meant for high-heeled feet, if they are meant to be worn on feet. As I mentioned, there are some shoes that already have a foot-type-shape inside the shoe to be connected with an already sculpted joint to the leg. Some sellers will list shoes that already have the sculpted foot shape inside, and some will list the ones that are meant to be worn on actual figure's feet as such, but not all do so. Sometimes it's easy to tell, like with classic pumps, they are hollow, so you can see they will work on actual figure's feet, but with completely closed shoes it's hard to tell -- like with boots, sneakers, etc. The high-heeled shoes will more than likely not fit on Barbie or other fashion dolls with feet similar to Barbie, because 1:6 action figure female feet are bigger. If the doll has bigger more realistically proportioned feet than Barbie does, than the shoes might fit.

As for busts sizes, the target demo are (heterosexual) males, so most of the bodies do tend to have pretty large busts. Although I have read a few of them complain about some of the larger busts sizes as well, it's not really an issue (or so it seems, because they tend to get bigger by the minute). However, there are some that have "medium" busts, they are still pretty large, IMHO, but not too jarring. I own the Phicen/TBLeague S01A, which is supposed to be medium bust, but still larger than what I would call medium. The only other brands that have smaller busts are Jiaou, with a small one but kind of perkier than Phicen's "medium," so not really that small. Also Xing, they have a small bust that I would consider medium, but I don't believe they have an all silicone body with no visible joints, if that is your preference. Those are nude photos, if you click on them, so you've been warned. (:

This is my Phicen S01A all dressed up, so the busts that are medium or smaller, don't look too pronounced, if the body is mostly clothed. The dress she's wearing is meant for the largest bust Phicen had at the time that body was originally released, so I always found it a mystery how people managed to place it on that body, because getting on this "smaller" bust body, was an ordeal plus a lifetime. Lol!

    6. Thank you. I do like the look of the dolls because they can be flexible without joints, but the medium busted I noticed also is a big sized bust. The shoes I looked at only showed the shoes on the figure, but did not give a look at the inside of the shoe. I found this post with a look at the feet and it appear the feet are removable and you can swap out a high heeled foot for a more flat foot? This would make it difficult to determine. There must be one foot that is more often used such as a basic foot? I would assume the shoes are for the most basic foot or it would note on the listing?Figuring Out Phicen (Part 3): The 6th Generation Females | The Toy Box Philosopher updated: some feet are not removable, so that must be the standard foot. I am not big on removable feet as it creates a line.

    7. mistake created reply, but can not see option to delete mistake post sorry

    8. @Enzyme I too had issues getting my Pichen guy’s outfit on. I chose the medium build body and the outfit was stated to fit small, medium, and large guys. The promo picture said it was the large body. When I put on the outfit it barely fit the medium! I can’t imagine the outfit on the large body. The struggle was real, lol. He looks great though (he is a Chinese artistic rendering of Goku, not a licensed one. I doubt he is OT, but definitely not a recast or bootleg). That’s why no pictures.

    9. Thank you that is helpful to know the clothes run small. They are so cheap, I don't know want to order first. Compared to prices for other clothes outfits and shoes these are only a quarter of the cost, so if they worked out, It would be a good to have more outfits.

    10. I also noticed they make 6 inch figures Dawn Sized that cost half the cost of the 12 inch, I may get one one them out of curiosity.

    11. @laurelZ if you do get a 6” figure, please post your opinions on it. I’ve found them interesting, but not ready to seriously look into them. They look so real, and are so tiny!

    12. I will because at only 34 dollars I mean why not get one to see if I like them?

    13. I went to ebay to look for the 34 dollars ones, but I could only find head and bodies that costed more than that. These heads for 1/12 scale look nice and so do the bodies, but the price is 45 for a head and 65 for a body. But then I went to youtube and I found unboxing videos, so I will have to look at those to decide which one I should get. If I was spending 65 I could just get a 12 inch doll, but there are so many choices. I even found a small bust doll, but her bust is average sized, but I like average sized better. They do not actually make any small busted dolls. But then I found an issue, the ankles can develop cracks from being stored upright, I am guessing. I do store my dolls flat in boxes. Its looks like the pressure of standing causes ankle cracks or else the doll was bend by playing with to much?

    14. I found the 34 dollar dolls, but it turns out she is not that doll. The photo showed a doll with a wig and outfit, but what you get is only the nude body with an unpainted face and then you need a wig. I can't paint faces, so I will to think about this some more. I will know the right doll when I see her.

    15. LaurelZ, the busts tend to be much larger than what most people would think of as "medium," or "small," but then I feel like most of us think of busts as the actual sizes found in our countries of origin, than a "medium" sized bust. Although, it is typical for doll/toy companies to label busts as that. The feet are removable on the more newer version of the bodies, but they are the same size as the non-removable ones, because most of the clothes are made to fit Phicen bodies and feet, as they are the most popular silicone bodies available right now (have been for a while). Most bodies also come only with a head, mostly the Phicen ones come already painted with rooted head back. However, there are many other brands besides Phicen/TBleague, but unless you are getting a full-set figure, you're probably purchasing a swimsuit set with a head and no other clothes. Some bodies are also sold separately, with no heads, so you have to make sure you read all the descriptions, or you might find yourself in a predicament. The outfits made for 1:6 figures tend to be really nice quality from my experience with random pieces and the SuperDuck dress I posted up there. I don't purchase a lot of ready made clothes for my dolls, because I enjoy torturing myself (by attempting to sew), but that's the reason why I never purchase BJD clothes -- the Azone stuff made for Japanese fashion dolls, and the stuff made for 1:6 action figures looks super realistic, with proportioned closures and tends to be a lot less expensive, proportionately. Good luck finding the perfect figure for your collection. (:

, I know exactly your pain! I was so frustrated halfway dressing my girl, I almost gave up. I looked up YouTube videos to see how others had managed, but most of the videos I found were in other languages or said they ripped the dress int he process. Lol! I was lucky mine didn't rip, but I was literally sweating and probably cursing. (:

    16. Sounds like the ankle cracks are a structural problem. There are some 1/6 scale boxed figures, like the Medicom RAH, that have a reputation for literally disarming themselves. My nude did that and the fullset never changes his clothes.

As for needing larger clothes I was going to suggest if you can sew to look into Barbie and Ken patterns form the late 80s to early 90s because my assortment of guys are mostly swimming in them.

    17. I really admire people who sew. I wish I worked on it more. I just enjoy online shopping for doll clothes. I don't always buy much, it's mostly looking, thinking and planning. I found from you tube videos that the one issue is if the silicon is over bended, the metal could end up poking out. I did not know these dolls had metal inside them. This makes me think I don't want to get one after all. They look nice, but I know metal instead a doll will create problems eventually in the doll. If you vintage dawn was made with metal inside and as the metal ages it creates green knee or other discolorations. I like my dolls to last a long time. Maybe I will get some of these dolls down the road after more of the bugs are worked out.

    18. i have a 1:12 phicen and while it's a wonderful figure has an issue with clothes it's hard to find even worse to sew , about high heels it comes with both high heels and flat feet and extra hands 2pairs , to change feet and hans is as easy as it is in fairyland dolls piece of cake keep in mind though it's super small size , the variety of available clothes for sale small and the clothes prices almost bjd level. Here are some pics
(also if you get one please never store it in a naylon/plastic store bag it might melt) silicone is very soft and squishy almost the same as skin , i have the t01 suntan its the muscular/toned female figure about 13-14cm
the head is the default of phicen so it came painted with hair and everything also the bathsuit was included as well the case was handy too I always keep it in it's case cause I don't have experience which plastics react bad with this type of silicone and don't want to risk it
