PeaksWoods Waiting Room

Wow thats a kinda long wait o_o

 

The only reasonable explanation that comes to me is that they wait to get enough orders to order from PW. With say, Fairyland, it's every saturday because every week there are tons of orders. PW is less known in comparison it seems...but you've been waiting since June, and you paid in full I presume? That's tough...I've ordered a FOC in August and she should be shipped any day now (according to PW...I'm crossing my fingers it's this week)
I think for the 20$ or so you save in shipping waiting 2-3 extra months seems not worth it >_<

 

I once read about a girl whose order got "lost" at the DDE office. Have you tried mailing them? I would definitely try to contact DDE and get some information out of them ^^

 

That doesn't sound very good. So far I've only had good experiences with DDE (bought 1 doll and have 2 on layaway).
They've always been friendly by email, so I'd definitely mail them about your order to ask what the shipping estimate is...

 

I am not sure what happens with the DDE orders for them to take that long. I have had only positive experiences with DDE, but the estimate of 6-7 months does not seem right to me. I have ordered a good number of dolls direct from Peak's Woods since 2011. The average order takes from 10-12 weeks, but that is for dolls I ordered a few years ago. The longest I personally have ever had to wait for a Peak's Woods doll was 16 weeks. That order was for a doll with tan skin and face up. That was from the day I ordered to the day they shipped, and for that doll I had a 3 payment layaway I paid off during that time frame.

The newest Alice in Wickedland dolls they estimated from 60-70 business days to ship. That is 14 weeks assuming 5 days per week. I have seen the wait times get a bit longer over the past few years, but only by a few weeks. I think their dolls are becoming more popular now, so they are handling more orders now than ever before. I do not think that will increase the wait times much at all because they offer the layaway plan, so they will not make all the dolls at the same time. I would say 3-4 months wait is more realistic.

 

I've contacted DDE several times over the past month, and they keep telling me that they're still waiting on some May orders, and they don't have any definitive estimate on when the June orders will start coming in. I've gone through DDE for years, so I trust them to an extent, and I'm not worried about foul play here. Whatever the reason for the long wait, it looks like it's going to be at least another month before my boy shows up. If I'd known it would be THIS long, I probably would have just gone through Peakswoods to begin with.

 

Well i hope you receive him soon Kirakukami. Bella is a gorgeous sculpt. This wait is crazy. Crossing my fingers for you.

Wow. Lots of orders this month. That's good that people are getting the dolls they want before the basics are discontinued... It'll be fantastic seeing more PW dolls arrive!

Hooray! The FoBs are back!

 

So, I just opened my White Rabbit Tristan, and he didn't come with all the nice extra stuff I ordered ;__;"
That was a bit of a downer...the poor guy is now wrapped in the cover from my duvet looking very unsatisfied and sad that his full set outfit didn't get shipped with him. And all my Oscar Doll eyes didn't ship as well >_<" So now I've written PW to ask what to do. I sure hope they'll send it fast so he won't be so butt naked.
At least I have a IH Lawrence waiting for me at the post office tomorrow I can drown my sorrows with ;D

They told me their packing staff lady was in the hospital, so other people fell in and did the packing. My extra stuff lay ready in a bag, so they send it immediately without any fuss or anything, so I guess I'll have it next week. I kinda have mixed feelings about the Dandy body... I really like the shape of the abs and the hip lines, but the chest looks odd to me for some reason... like... it seems really angular and flat? Especially at the sides close to the armpits. I didn't really have a chance to look at the body in person while I was at Dollism, though, so maybe there's a depth to it that doesn't show well in pictures.

I think I know what you meen, but I just love the anime-ish-ness of the Dandy body. They stand like a typical teenager with their slouching shoulders and flat chest XD'
But yeah, I guess it's pretty different from a lot of other bodies, and they slouch all the time...you can't make them...not slouch XD

His clothes came yesterday...but without the hood for the vest...but they send it to me today. XD what an order.
But PW has been so nice about it and apologized so much I almost feel bad ^^" Seems their youngest sister is doing the packing for them atm. She's been working overtime the last two months, so mistakes were kind of inevitable I'd say. But oh well, it'll all be sorted out in the end. ^^

Aww, PW really is the best about putting their customers first! ^^;; It's really nice for us that the family works so hard, but I really hope they don't overdo it! We don't want something like KyungMin hurting her hand again.

 

When you pay by layaway is it normal for your order status to say something like "incomplete bank transfer"? My actual layaway page has all the info right so I haven't been too worried, but now as I'm closer to expecting a shipping notice I'm starting to get just a tad worried. I tried to send them an email about this several days ago but unfortunately they haven't responded yet.

I think its pretty normal; I noticed the status of that page only changes when they have your tracking number ready. Since you emailed them, you should have an answer from them soon regarding it. Is this your first doll(s) from Peakswoods? Congrats!

 

Fantastic! I feel so much better now. Its my first time ordering direct from the company. So far they've been very pleasant to deal with. I don't mind waiting as long as there are no problems.

 

You know, you can always contact them via the message board--if they are in town, they almost always get back to you within days. But in my experience, some of my lay-aways (even when they've been paid in full AND shipped) still say "incomplete bank transfer." And often when I pay separately with paypal, it doesn't get updated. I just keep the paypal record and transaction number, just in case, and I've never had a problem.

 

I second this! I asked them why my FoC order said "incomplete bank transfer" and they explained that they usually don't update until the order is ready to be shipped, but they were happy to update it for my peace of mind. From what I understand, FairyLand sometimes does this as well, so maybe it's a common practice.

WooHoo.... Happy Days for me - an unexpected bonus from work allowed me to pay my Layaway off in full on the second payment..... AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH Now.... crossing fingers through some miracle of awesomeness she's delivered in time for Christmas.... (I can dream right!?)

 

That would be pretty awesome~ At this rate, though, I think they won't ship until mid-January or February given the 60-70 day wait for special skin...

 

I hope you guys don't mind me asking but I'm not on the list and this was my first time ordering from Peakswood. I paid in full for a layaway on July 27th and it's been past the 70 business days so far. I've gotten no notice or anything. May I ask how long the typical wait is for a special skin color doll is?

 

Hmmm, I dunno if anyone can give you a solid answer on what the actual wait time is. I know Peak's Woods themselves give the 60-70 day average, and it's not always spot on but I think it's not usually more than a month past that. They've had a couple of holidays since July, but I'm not sure how that affects the wait time. I myself paid off my layaway on July 7th and also haven't received a shipping notice yet, although I am starting to dream about the package showing up at my door!

Judging from the list, it looks like @alington waited about 90-97 days (give or take a few days for any holidays there may have been) for her two special color FoCs. @Godzilla waited about 85-90 days for a tan Goldie. @dotworkdoll has waited about 96 days for a shipping notice on her suntan Hunky Dory (and other doll). So I guess 90~ days is more accurate than 70 days at the moment?

It's also my first two times ordering from Peak's Woods directly, but they have a wonderful reputation for customer service, and having met them in person, I trust them for it. They don't mind occasional inquiries about orders or shipping, and they are very accommodating about checking processing for orders, so I would suggest that you ask them about your order specifically via their CS board or email if you feel at all concerned.
