PeaksWoods Waiting Room

forgot to mention that I finished paying off my layaway on Feb 17th! now I just have to wait the 70 to 100 business day wait time is gonna be forever, I just counted, and it's only been about 45 business days, 60 actual days. I'm worried that the corona virus is gonna make it take even longer I'm just really nervous about the dolls getting to me safely.

 

Apparently I forgot to put myself on the list XD Ordered back in September and finally got a shipping notification. Of course during all this mess when mail is severely delayed >_> The eyes I ordered with my doll were also out of stock and it somehow took...8 months to realize this? Then instead of giving a refund for them, they sent the money back as a payment on PayPal which took out a PayPal fee so I didn't even get a full refund on the eyes. I e-mail them and of course they are mysteriously silent now. We'll see what happens.

 

Just got an email saying she shipped yesterday!! I hope it doesn't take too long, especially with this virus thing I just really hope she arrives safely!!

 

I'm also in the US (in Nebraska) and mine took 20 days to get here, Korea Post's EMS is moving quite expediently still. It spent a week in customs though.

 

My doll was actually completed a few weeks ago! But they're not allowed to ship to my country at the moment

 

I'm ATM ok with the long waiting game since I began two layaways. One for a secondhand WS Mona and a new blue-grey Dotty

 

I ordered a blank Goldie head last week, I'm not gonna think about how long she might take to get here since I know the world is in a strange state right now! So long as she arrives one day, I'll be happy to welcome her home~

 

I got my Romantic Dotty Muse today!
They shipped out since 9th June and she arrived today, it took them 12 days to shipped out from Korea(I'm in Thailand)

She was so beautiful but I received her with some shiny spots on her legs ; - ; which I think it might came from the bubble wrap. idk if thinner will remove the stain.

 

Just put in an order for an Emerald Green vampire Yeru, this will be my first Peakswoods doll and my first green doll. :P

I told myself buying a doll isn't the best thing atm, but couldn't pass up the opportunity, been eyeing their beautiful green resin for awhile.

 

I'm currently waiting for two Peak's Woods FOBs.

I ordered Little Rosemii in lavender pink skin on layaway in February and I paid her off in June. So hopefully she'll be home in a few months.

I was originally planning on getting a vampire friend for Harriet (my Vampire Dotty Muse) for the Halloween event. But then they released these gorgeous new vampire girls and offered Emerald Green skin, which is the skin tone I really wanted. So of course I caved and bought one. I was completely smitten with Vampire Romantic Dotty Muse, even though I already have the normal Vampire Dotty Muse, so ended up ordering her.

I can't wait to get both of my new girls home! I'm so excited!

Vampire little Yeru in emerald green with the limited make up
Quite expensive for a first bjd, but she looks so incredible stunning.
I hope I won't regret this when it is time for paying the additional taxes& customs.

Btw does anyone know if their parcels are fully insured? Do they state the full value? (I have seen companies handle this very differently)

 

Congrats on your first bjd! Yeru is so cute and their fantasy skin tones are amazing! I'm sure you will love her. When I got my first Peak's Woods doll it was love at first sight

On the packages I've received they usually write $60 as the value, but I'm from the EU and our customs fees are insane. So I think they lower the value to help us avoid those fees. I don't know if they do it differently for packages shipped to the US.

I am from Europe too. Yes, the tax+fees are crazy. My country has 20% tax +5% customs. So I end up paying ~1/4 more for everything
(+handling fees from postal office/DHL depending on what service is used)

I just got a shipping notice for my Omelas' Cat Red I can't wait for her to get here

 

She is beautiful and I’m sure you’ll love her!!! I saw one last week at the DOLK shop and she was really cute! I have a Vamp Mimi Crow and that was the only reason I didn’t get her right away.

 

I can't wait to see her in person! Mimi Crow is really pretty! It was so hard to decide which one to get in that sale period, they were all so gorgeous. I got her in the pink punch skin so I'm really curious to see how it looks in person.

 

I've been trying to find some clothes for my incoming girl, but I have never owned a Peakswoods doll before so I can't tell if she is slim or what would fit her best

I've found it seems to depend on the size. Peak's Woods SD's are on the slimmer size but their YoSD's are a normal Yo size. I can't speak for their MSD's though, I don't have any of those yet.

The cat ears from my Mimi are in pink, and I suppose it’s the same color as the pink body. If it is (can’t say for sure), it looks more like a “grayish pink” rather than a flashy one. It’s for sure darker than the promo picture and I think it’s prettier.

 

My girl came two days but I hadn't a chance to reply or upload anything but its definitely a darker pink than I was expecting, kind of a more dull pink but I really like it!! Excuse the horrible photo but here's my girl! Just have to decide on a name for her now

That is how their pink looks in real life? That is really a lot less pinkish than I thought, but I find it very pretty. Looks like skincolor that has a pink tone to it lovely

 

That one is with flash but its pretty much how it looks in real life. Its definitely less pink than I thought it would be but I like it, its a nice subdued tone of pink if that makes sense haha.

@miztyl How long did it take for your girl to get finished and shipped?

 

It's definitely hard to resist!! There's so many cute and beautiful clothes and accessories out there! I ordered her at the middle of October last year but had her on layaway until the end of April so from payment in full to shipping took a little over 3 1/2 months (almost 4) and then another about 1 1/2 weeks to get to me with the delays.

From my final layaway payment, it took them only 62 business days to ship a doll out that also has a faceup.

 

Hello~ I just started a layaway on Keith the Dark Elf! I fell in love with his cute little teeth I got him with the monster hands and normal resin. I wish there was a grey or tan resin option because I really didn't care for the green and pink colors xD but I think I will give him some grey accents throughout his body with my airbrush! I look forward to paying him off early if I can!

 

My Knox girl came in today and I am SO IN LOVE!! She is so stunning and I just can't get over her!!

I checked in with Denver Doll to see what Peakswoods average wait time is and was told about 9 months, they are very slow to produce dolls. Does this sound right to you guys? I'm trying not to be impatient, but I'm pretty excited to have my green girl home.

 

9 months?! My dolls have usually taken about 4 months for the to be shipped with my latest one only being delayed because of covid. That being said I've always bought from them directly.

 

@sayakami you are Peak’s Woods fav because all my direct orders take 7-9 months as well

 

@sayakami My very first order from them took a bit, but I was ordering about 4 dolls at the time (I was hosting a group order), but it made sense. Since then though, I've always gotten orders from them quickly. And I also just placed another order for a Dandy 67 body and a Romantic Romi, so I'm super happy they're usually quick for me. Glad to see I have a quick ship buddy lol

@QuietYurei Due to the way Denver Doll orders, it does also effect shipping time. Fingers crossed it doesn't take 9 whole months to get to you, though!

With how popular they're getting (which they Absolutely deserve) but how rarely they're open, it makes sense that wait times are getting longer and weirdly varied for a few customers here and there.

 

Hi all! So excited to see your dolls arrive. I started a layaway for a Little Rosemii on this preorder. It was so hard to decide which one I wanted! They’re all so gorgeous. And the company faceup is amazing too. I usually do my own but decided to change it up with Peakswoods.

Coming by again because I ended up buying an FOC Mona from their website! They have a batch of ready made dolls that were meant for an event that has been cancelled.

Excited to get my hands on her and make some bigger clothes!

 

I got up at 6 a.m. my time to get one from the event (FOB Suntan Romantic Lady Bee)

I'm so excited! She's gonna be my birthday present, so I'm gonna have to wait until a little bit after she arrives to open her, but I'm so happy to have another beautiful PW girl! and in their beautiful suntan skin

 

Ahaha same! I woke up at 5 am to order my Mona Their suntan is so pretty! It’ll be a really nice birthday present, especially since it was almost a surprise. I only found out about the event because I was looking at their website day dreaming of their FOC girls, figured I’d go to look at their news publication and BAM surprise event notice.

Ahh I'm so happy for you! Mona is so pretty, if the Lady Bee wasn't in suntan, I would've gone for the little Mona they had! I'm hoping to get her in the future though, and little Rosemii.

After getting my Romi and Little Yeru head last summer, I fell even more in love with Peaks Woods than I had before. I even got a suntan romantic Lady Bee for my birthday this year~!

With that being said, I went a bit crazy during this event

So, I am waiting on a white Skin vampire Lady Bee with the Nana RabbitHolic Limited makeup I just fell in love with that makeup and I knew I had to get a doll with it!

I also bought a looottt of heads. 2 each of Romantic Little Lottie and Romantic Little Yeru, one to keep as is and one to become modified sleeping heads, as my Little Yeru and Little Lottie are currently my favorite dolls. I also got a Nana, a Little Rosemii Blossom, a Vampire Little Yeru, and a Vampire Romantic Dotty Muse (in the beautiful Lavender Pink skin)

Now I just have to be patient and wait

 

I assume a lot of people in this thread have experience with ordering a Peakswoods girl with the special make up, but not the same head that is displaying the special make up;

What is your experience?
What can I expect her to look like? Will she still have the expression of the girl I choose, and they just use that color palette on her? Or will she be adapted to have a similar expression to the girl displaying the special make up?

Also what to expect when ordering a basic girl with basic make up in Grey skin? Thinking about Dotty Muse.
But do they adapt the colors a bit so it will work with such a completely different skin tone?
When I tried to asked they answered something like "the make up will be the same", but wouldn't that not work for transferring a make up from white to Grey skin tone?

 

Oh man, I had no idea until I read your post that you could order any of the FOB girls with one of the RabbitHolic make-up styles! So after I read your message, I went back to the ordering page for Nana, and, sure enough, I saw the selection drop-down for the FOB heads. (This was after I placed my order. Oops!)

I thought that the limited makeup styles was for the dolls pictured modelling them. (I'm under the impression that Nana, Romantic Little Mona, and Little Rosemii Blossom are new sculpts? Please correct me if I am wrong!) Those make-up styles are so beautiful - especially Nana's with those freckles!

Well, this is my first experience buying a BJD, so this was a live-and-learn moment! I chose Mori Moth with the Basic make-up; I adore Peak's Woods "Basic" face-ups too.

I was super focused on ordering Mori Moth when the ordering window opened, I made a bee-line to her page. I've been hoping she would be available since I found out about Peak's Woods in January. I totally fell in love with her sculpt. (And, I'd read somewhere that the Mori Moth sculpt was retired!? SO glad she was available!!)

@Pyoko: I'm curious which doll and make-up you decided on!

 

My first bjd was a Peakswoods too! I ordered her last year during event time and got her in autumn.
They are pricey, but very lovely and well made (at least I am very happy with the girl I bought).
I am still confused with their hand and nail options though xD

Did you order one of the special make up girls? Peakswoods is very nice, you could ask to change the head you have chosen.

I did decide on Nana in lavender skin (just loved how the promotional pictures looked, so could not withstand her) and a vampire KoonieS in Grey skin with the special face up. Second one will be a bit of a surprise to see how the make up looks on her

 

Hard to explain but they makeup does look the same. I think they do adapt based on the skin tone, like making it a bit stronger on gray for example. But its funny how you look at them and the faceup looks “the same”. Of coure if you choose a different head they will look like like that head you choose rather than the promo, so don’t worry about the face you choose losing it’s “personality and traits”. I have 4 peakswoods dolls where 3 have the company faceup. One thing I can say for sure is, peakswoods does a lovely faceup job and I don’t think you will be disappointed.

 

Did anyone order in their most recent event? I bought a Vampire Lune Mono in Grey skin and am so excited! This will be my first Peakswoods doll after wanting one for a decade. He's paid off in full, so I'm hoping I won't be waiting too long.

I ordered a grey Lottie and a grey Mimi Crow with two additional grey heads - Red and Miro. I paid in full as well, so I hope to have these grey ladies join my crew early next year.

Those are beautiful sculpts! Early next year would be amazing. I think I saw some dolls from last October took until April to arrive. How did you manage to get additional heads in grey? I thought the heads were only sold in white and normal.

@YingYangKira Thank you! I think the longest I've ever had to wait on shipping from them was around 4 months, so hopefully it will not be too bad. I got all mine blank - that sometimes 'helps'. Honestly I was also a bit surprised they let me add 2 heads, but I asked them on Instagram and they told me to write it in their Q&A section - then they just told me to pay to their PayPal and wrote it on a note for my order of the two girls. Never tried it before as I've always been a bit hesitant about floating heads, but the grey is so gorgeous I just felt like 2 extra heads would almost be 2 extra dolls since they can share bodies.

@Kurisu yes he will be! I have admired Peakswoods since about 2010 or so but never actually placed an order! I saw a FOB at a doll meet a few months ago and was just enamored with her in person though. When I saw him as a drop-down option I had to go for it!

 

@Kurisu That's smart! I thought about trying to see if I could order an Lune Elf head in grey for the same reasons, two dolls in one! But ended up against it. I'm kind of glad because I've become a little enamored with their lavender skin, so I might just order another doll in lavender in the future. And four months isn't bad! I did get a faceup so hopefully it won't take too much longer.
