Peak's Woods Fairies of Colors Discussion PART VI

Aug 31, 2015

    1. Pretty excited for the open sale of all closed FOC coming up soon! Finally Dlight may just be making her way home to me! I really hope I can get her as she is my ultimate grail :D Hope they will have all resin colours available too :3

      Does anyone know if heel feet or non heel feet have more shoe options? Im not sure if I should opt for heel feet, but would feel more inclined if thats what most shoes fit to, considering the arch.

      • x 3
    2. @ClarasCraft - The heel feet fit most heels better, so if you're Dlight is going to rock them more often than flats I'd recommend them. I originally didn't get them for my FOB girl and regretted it so much I asked for them later.
      I'm super excited for the event as well!! Trying to decide if I can afford a Cosmo head at this time.. Not sure if I can with BJDC around the corner.

    3. I do hope that they do this event more often like once a year or so, because I do really want to get one of the FOC girls. If it becomes a yearly thing then I can save up for it in advance!

    4. @faireva

      Looking forward to meeting you! You'll definitely see me with my Goldie!

    5. @Pinkypink56 - I'm really looking forward to meeting you as well! I'll be there just for the open sales floor on Saturday so we can meet up then! :-) I'll have to post what clothes ill be wearing so you guys can find me I think, I'm still not sure if I want to bring my Tristan girl or my KoonieS. I think KoonieS might be easier since she is MSD height.

    6. So is anyone here going to participate in the summer event part 2?

      • x 2
    7. The photo contest or the open sale? Or maybe you mean both?
      I probably won't do the photo contest- my cat doesn't like me to have nice things and I'm afraid he'll try to chew on my dolls lol :lol:
      I will skip the open sale this time around too which I'm super bummed though. Because I think I need a blue-grey skinned Kisha. And a Cosmo (Everybody needs a Cosmo XD).

    8. Lol I'm talking about the open sale event , and I'm in the same boat as you i will have to pass on this event I am hoping they do another one in the future!

      • x 1
    9. O definitely!! I hope they do another open event for next year. I wonder if at this event, they'll have special faceups?

    10. I do usually bring dolls, but I'm there with Code Noir, too, so I need models. If you have someone you need an outfit or wig or shoes for, bring that doll with you. Most conventioneers will have a doll (or multiple dolls) with them, but be careful, since you'll have to carry them with you. But, you're welcome to leave your doll at my sales table as a model, or hiding behind the table, either way, if you like! I'm there all day, and happy to do that. :) just let me know.

      • x 1
    11. Oh, please, please bring Yulli! I'd love to see her in person!

    12. Be sure to say hello! I'm really bad with faces and names, but I really try. I have funky hair (current blue, turquoise and magenta), so I'm easy to spot!

    13. I think both heel and flat are perfect. Flats are pretty good for traditional sd13 shoe sizes, but the heel feet are terrific for Angell-Studio, Dollheart heels, and most Code Noir heels, too, which opens a whole new world of collection, imho. I'm really excited about the open event, though I'm trying to be good. It will depend on how sales go at the BJDC, since I do really have a lot of FOC dolls, but I really, really would love a new tan girl. ;)

    14. @alington - Thank you for your generous offer! Sally might have to model for you because she loves to dress up and show off. Do you need any male models? :-) My boys don't have any Codenoir clothes but my girl's do. I really like that kitty outfit PW had on Keith the Beast at PNW though.
      Good idea, I'll bring my FOB girl cause she needs a wig, she is sporting a FOC size wig now.

      @sunnysailor - I will definitely be participating in the photo contest cause I love those events! I may or may not get a Cosmo head, I have to think about it more.

    15. Oooh--I think the outfit Keith had on might have been something other than Code Noir--maybe Corona? So far, Code Noir has only done jeans, shoes, and several sort of kitty-inspired outfits with shorts for Dandy boys. But it would save me so much space if I could use your boy as a model!

      In fact--I'd love to open this up to anyone attending the BJDC--if you plan on attending--I would love to invite you to drop your doll (any dolls--not just Peak's Woods) at the Code Noir table to model for me. I haven't figured out how to get models there in a way that makes sense. And if I have too many, I will be happy to dollysit, too. :)

      So, I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I really like you guys here. I'm currently setting up a newsletter, and I'm holding a monthly raffle (like every month) starting August 15, for a free Code Noir wig, just for subscribing. You can choose the size, but the style will be random--well, they will be limited to stock on hand, we will say. :) Currently, I have limited to raffle to US customers--because of shipping costs--but I'm feeling a little bad about that, so I may actually change that within the next week. If you are interested, you can sign up here. (I use Mailchimp, so you can unsubscribe anytime.) Also, I plan to send out 2-3 letters a month, including a new release (already sent), a dolly tricks & tips (wigs this month), and maybe occasionally a sale post or event notice, when necessary.

    16. For those who are attending the BJD con, remember pictures or it didn't happened! :XD:

      • x 4
    17. @sunnysailor - Lol!! What is this Vegas? Hehe! I will definitely post photos after the convention, I know Peak's Woods won't be there though so I might just post my photos to a Bjdc thread and post a link on this thread. My Foc babies will definitely get uploaded here though!

      @alington - That kitty outfit is the one I meant, it's very cute! I'll be attending sales floor with two other dolly people and they will be bringing dolls/a doll as well so maybe I can let them know about your invitation? Don't worry we will not bring a doll army.. Unless you want one that is? Hehe
      I was planning on just bringing my 2 girls FoC and FoB but if you want/need a Dandy model I will bring one. I know you typically collect girls, that's why I ask.

    18. @alington Thank you for the reply! Okay, I think I will go ahead and get heal feet if I order a Dlight, particularly since she won't be in 'normal' skin, it would be much harder to get some later.
      I feel a little silly when it comes to shoes since none of my dolls (except for a tiny) actually have any. :lol: Unbelievable I know, since I really like nice shoes myself... 2017 I think will be a shoe year, i'll find the perfect shoe for each doll :whee:

      Also the newsletter subscription sounds great! I'd definitely subscribe if its opened up internationally.:3nodding:

    19. @alington - I'll bring Yulli :)

      Super excited about the re-release of the FoC again. I'm not on facebook and didn't see anything on the PW site, but was there any mention on what the faceup options would be for this release? Bummed there won't be a layaway option

      • x 1
    20. @Mu Shu - ohhhh! Will you be at bjdc in Austin too?! Maybe we can all tie a red ribbon on our wrist or pin one on our shirt or something to signify our PW fan club, I'll recognize your dolls of course, but maybe in case we end up storing them for the sales floor day. That way I can be sure to greet you all.

      @ClarasCraft - I'm so happy that you will get a chance to get your Dlight again! She is a beauty <3

    21. Fantastic--I'd forgotten PW had brought the kitty outfit with them to the PNW expo, actually. :) So please, yes! And yes, I'm looking for any and all models, except that most should be standard-ish size, so please open the invitation. (And if you need to take your dollies away to try on other stuff, that is totally OK, too.) I will try to bring stands with me, if I can fit them (but I'm flying in from San Diego), so if your friends have stands, that would be great. And boys, yes. Any size as well! I will make it work!

      I love the red ribbon idea, @faireva! Maybe I should bring some with me? You guys can see me at the Code Noir table, and I'll give you a red ribbon to signify the PW fandom? Wouldn't that be great? We could take a group photo or something. :)

      @Mu Shu Thank you!! I'll try to remember my camera. I'd love to add an open-eye Tristan to my collection this time around, but it's SO going to depend on how the BJDC goes. :) Maybe I could order her and Yulli, LOL! (I really do NOT need any more big girls. I'll keep saying this to myself, over and over, at the BJDC, when I see all the beautiful dolls.) They didn't mention face-up options, so I'm assuming basic? I think I got an email this morning.

      @ClarasCraft I'm so happy for you. I love Dlight as well, and I hope they have all resin colors, too. Which resin color are you thinking?

      My addition to the photo spam this morning:

      Current display photos!
      by Alison Rasmussen, on Flickr

      Vamp Goldie (white skin) won't give up her Code Noir stuff (she has since then, but darn it, I want that wig!), with blue-grey Vamp Briana in casual jeans and came (I think both are NineStyle) and older DH shoes. Her wig is by Licht. The doll peeking behind Goldie is Cue (she's in her PJs), and then there's Yami on a DollChateau body (also barefoot in PJs). :)

    22. I'm excited for the photo contest! I've been ignoring my dolls for other things recently and this will be a fun opportunity to get them out again :)

    23. @alington - Thank you! =^.^= I will definitely bring stands for my dolls! I didn't want to overload you with our stuff, so I will probably just bring 2 dolls - a boy and girl FOC for the table and carry my FOB around with me. I have red ribbon, so I'll wear it in case people have trouble recognizing me just by my doll, you don't have to worry about bringing one for me.. you will already be toting around quite a bit of stuff anyways I bet. I love your dolly display! So much PW! Goldie does look great in that wig!

      If anyone else wants to wear a red ribbon to signify our PW interests let me know and I'll keep my eye out for you! I'm very excited!

    24. @faireva @alington Thanks guys! Im hoping I can choose from a grey colour, most possibly diamond grey. :D
      Unfortunately I'm not yet sure if I can get a wonderful PeaksWoods face-up for her, as with the bad exchange rate at the moment I already have to get together an extra $200 :nowords:
      I'm usually not inclined to get company face-ups at all... except for PeaksWoods since they are just so great! :lol::D

      • x 2
    25. O it looks like they're getting ready for the open sale now- by the look of their site. Ergh it sooo tempting! I really hope they do another open sale next year.

      • x 1
    26. @faireva I think the red ribbon idea is a great one! Things have gotten so busy trying to prepare for the trip that I'm totally missing on all the Peakswoods planning at the con! I'll be sure to wear a red ribbon so we can spot each other. @alington If you'd like to have a very demanding WU goldie as a model for your table, I've got the girl for you!

    27. Ugh, if only I could drop 700 bucks on a Dlight right now...

      • x 1
    28. I don't have any red ribbons (or any ribbons really) :(

    29. I dressed up Halley for a dolly tea part that our local group was going to have, but it ended up being cancelled due to flash flood damage. If you look up Ellicott City, MD on Google, you'll see what I mean.

      But anyway, she looked way too cute in this outfit to not take at least a few pictures of her before she goes back into her normal clothes.

    30. She looks cute! I like how well the colors of her dress works well with her ski stone and makeup.

    31. O I love how dainty and cute she looks :aheartbea And I love her expression in this XD.

    32. Ah, what a shame, it seems they are not offering diamond-grey resin colour this time :eek:
      Are colours such as Urban Brown and Diamond Grey one off resin options? I know Urban Brown has only been offered once, but I wasn't sure about Diamond-grey.

      ~~~~
      Oh well, it seems they will not be offering such colours for this event.
      I am wondering now if I should still get delight even though my preferred resin colours are not available, or attempt to find her on the second-hand market in the colour I want..?
    33. Oooh guys, I am so so so so so excited for this open FoC order event! I wish I could afford to order multiple dolls haha
      I used to own a gorgeous WS Vampire Goldie on the AB body. I loved her head but I didn't care much for the body itself, mostly because of the knees and the height I think. 65cm is a bit much for me.
      It seems I may get the chance to own a Vampire Goldie again, and in that gorgeous blue-grey skin! Although I admit I'm torn between her and Vampire Tristan.
      I'm also really thinking about getting the special faceup for half open eyed dolls.
      Does anyone have a girl with this faceup that can spam me with pictures to help me decide? Bonus points if it's on either a Goldie or Tristan <3
    34. Oh no! what a temptation to see the PWยดs website now!! must resist!!
    35. My Rogita I posed a few posts up has it. :)
    37. It seems odd, but this event doesn't tempt me. I already have my grail doll (sunlight Goldie), and the only other one I've been eying is one of the MSD's which aren't limited.
    38. @velouriumxcamper: I forgot to ask, where did you get that outfit for Halley? I love the minty dress with the lilac bow and shoes.
      You - are a stronger person than any of us ;)
      And good news! My Shaia and Bella are finally on their way from faceups! Huzzahs all around!:dance
    39. I sooooo wish I could get Elf Tristan this time around! I have too many on layaway, though. I don't think I should ask for one more. Hopefully they will do this event again next year.
      She is stunning!
      Here is my Vampire Goldie:
    40. Ahh thank you both so much for the pictures! Your girls are gorgeous. I've never had interest in a company faceup before but PeaksWoods does such gorgeous work. Tough decision to make in not much time XD
    41. @krystina I believe it's angell studio! I know thr shoes are, but I'll double check for you when I get home today. :)
      EDIT: Confirming it's AngellStudio!
    42. Ahhh! I'm finally able to get Dlight! My parents just said they'd buy her as a present for my 25th birthday. I'm so happy and excited! She's my Grail doll and I've wanted her ever since I laid eyes on her. I was so sad that I missed out when she was available the first time around. This is a dream come true! :D
    43. Congratulations!
    44. Yes, yes, yes! Demanding is great!
      And oh wow, guys--so many gorgeous new dolls. I'm trying desperately to get ready for the convention, and things around here seem to be falling apart. Ugh! Doesn't that always seem to happen?
      If I sell well, I'm hoping to add a lavender pink open eye Tristan, but I'm going to try to hold off till after Austin. We will see if I can manage it. Self control is really hard in this hobby, lol! :)
      @Calfuray, what a fantastic birthday gift! I think that is just wonderful, and congratulations! I'm so happy for you! :)
    45. @Calfuray That's awesome! She is an amazing sculpt, my grail too!
      What resin colour will you be getting her in? :D
      I'm still stuck at a crossroads as to whether to get her or not, even though she is my grail, I was set on diamond-grey skin which isn't available, and in second was Urban Brown, which also isn't.
      I might end up going for just 'normal' resin instead. Since I can't say for sure if they will ever offer her again, and truthfully she looks great in all resin colours :lol:
    46. Oh my! She's beautiful! That blonde wig goes well with her skintine and her makeup it changes up her look.
    47. Thank you! I wish I could take her out of her box and try on more wigs. I had barely gotten her when I had to pack her up along with most of my other dolls. I'm trying to sell my house and I didn't want any dolls out for those people who feel they have to touch them. Now I have all of them stored off site in a safe place. I can't wait to move and unpack my dolls!
    48. @periwinklestars That must be so hard. :( I am so sorry, but I know exactly what you mean. It's a very smart thing to do, I think. And good luck with selling your house. I hope it goes smoothly and quickly. I personally think moving is one of the worst things in the world--packing, having people come into your home while you're trying to look for a new place, everything being in limbo, and then actually moving... But, when it's all over, you're in a brand new place, and that should be worth it. :)
      I just wanted to share a couple of fun things, if you have time. I posted this entry for my 13 year-old niece, for the Peak's Woods photo contest. She is new to BJDs--she read my book last year, and I offered to give her a doll (my brother, who is her dad, said she had to actually buy it, so she saved up $100, and I had her donate it to a pet rescue place). Anyway, she sews for her girl and takes photos, as upgraded her eyelashes to crazy lengths, and even bought her new eyes and a new wig. Here she is (she's renamed her doll Liz, but this is Rogita and an older FoC body):
      - Korean BJD company PeaksWoods shopping mall -
      With her pet parakeet Sky. I think the photo is so funny and cute. Plus it's super colorful, and it's really a good photo!
      And then mine, from many years ago when I had, ahem, received my second doll from Peak's Woods. I started with Sky, and my second doll was Goldie:
      - Korean BJD company PeaksWoods shopping mall -
      I was making a first attempt at deboxing photos (the idea of cleaning up around the area was foreign to me, apparently), and my cat Lily (who is now seven), decided to help. :) I was really, really new to photography, too. It was pretty funny, and the photos are pretty awful. But I thought I'd share them just the same.
    49. Ugh moving is the worst! I hope everything works out for you and your family.
    50. Sharing because she looks annoyed... :lol:
    51. @periwinklestars I feel your pain. I had to quickly put together a gallery for a studio visit from a local arts magazine and I'm still not completely moved in so I packed up all my dolls while I reorganized. After this work got so busy and I've been doing so much traveling that there's these leaning towers of doll boxes in my living room. I'm about to head out again for two weeks (one for work, one for me) then I'll be back for three weeks then leave again for work. Realistically I'm looking at the winter as the time when I finally get to build out my doll room downstairs and get my sewing machine and stuff out. In the meantime I'm writing photo-stories (mainly the box opening of my PW Vamp Goldie and Kisha) but it's not as much fun when you don't have time to sit down and shoot them.
      They closed the color darkroom that I worked at in Seattle so all the photography I did with the PW dolls at the PNW convention is sitting for the moment. I'm looking at October for using some vacation time to just go print all that stuff down in Olympia (about 60 miles away). When I saw everyone talking about a convention I had to go back to figure out which one but turns out it's Austin and then I realized that it's already August! I need to come up for air more often. Stupid work, it's like just because they give me money they have expectations that I spend my time doing stuff! Well, that and my real life as an artist sucking up what time is left. Stupid sleep robbing me of 7 hours of useful time a day!
      I'm sooo thankful there's no lawaway for the current doll offering cuz otherwise I'd be very tempted....
    52. @dollhausen That's exactly why I'm not getting anything. Layaway is such an enabler :mwahaha
    53. Yes, it's exactly like that - so hard being in limbo. I can't wait for my house to sell so that I can move. I'm leaving Colorado for a warmer winter climate in Arizona, and I have to wait for my house to sell before I can make an offer on the next one. It feels like a big change, but also a new adventure :)
      Thank you! I'm sure it will work out --- if only I were a patient person ---
      Haha I totally understand about the tower of boxes! I am hoping to unpack quickly when I finally move, but life does have a way of placing obstacles, doesn't it? Last time I moved it took me a couple of months before I could unpack my dolls. I hope you get some time for your dolls soon!
    54. I feel like I should get at least a head on general principal of not knowing if any of them will ever be released again, but I already have my grail doll (suntan Goldie). None of the other larger dolls catch my eye.
    55. Man, if they offered layaway for this event, I'd be really tempted.
      As it is, I might still buy a head. ~_~
    56. @Calfuray - Ohhhhh! Congrats on Dlight! What a wonderful Birthday present!!
      @Pinkypink56 - It was so nice to meet you and your sweet Dad at the convention! I'm glad we got to take a commemorative photo with Bianca & I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip in Austin!
      @stellarphenomena - Owf, I just love your Briana!! I'm feeling very tempted by Briana right now because of yours!
      @periwinklestars - I hope you have as easy a move as is possible! Moving is always troublesome, but I hope you enjoy settling in to your new place. ^.^
      I posted my 3 photos for the contest, and I think it's cool that there are 14 winners this time. How exciting! During the photo shoot it was not without effort to get the cat still.. she is a little wildcat. lol
