Peak's Woods Fairies of Colors Discussion PART V

Feb 21, 2015

1. Thank you Kurisu and krystina! I will most certainly spam my Lottie lots when she arrives - so excited she is on her journey here! Lottie is spunky and cute, I've always admired her, she was actually the first Peak's Woods sculpt that got my attention. When I found out the FOCs were being discontinued as basic, I felt a strong urge to get her just in case she did not make a return.. and the special faceup was very pretty with the freckles and bottom lashes. :daisy

Ishtar - Your Malice is stunning! I just love the Tristan as Elf faceup! Especially the ears and the lipstick! She looks so wonderful in those awesome clothes and wig too, what a lucky girl, I'm glad that you were able to style her in a way that spoke to you.

My Tristan twins made it out today in the evening light when it was a bit cooler for some Summertime photos. It's been 99 degrees here for most of the day, and feels like 112 degrees because of the humidity! (No, kidding.. they said this on the radio broadcast) My moody teenagers posing with their new "tax free weekend" clothes, they are still enjoying their Summer holiday as you can see. ;) This is my favorite wig of Lloyd's so far.. it took about 6 wigs for me to find the perfect one! I ordered a few eyes from enchanted doll so when my package arrives from PW he might switch out to a different pair.. we will see, these ones are neat too!

2. Gorgeous twins faireva! *__*

Haha I was almost ready to buy Lottie at the event, but then I decided on Hunky D instead. But I'm so happy others got Lottie, she is SOOO cute :D

Faireva:
These boys are absolutely breathtaking. I just cannot get over the talent of the faceup artist. The faces are vibrant and dramatic. I've not seen that from any other BJD company. Hats off to Peak's Woods.

Was finally able to take Pilar out to the local mall's green space for some photos. I think this one came out pretty well.

5. She looks so majestic like a queen velouriumxcamper ^^

6. Thank you guys for all the Sweet comments!! <3 I am very happy to announce that my Lottie girl arrived today! She is so sweet and pouty looking! I made a box opening thread here.

velourimxcamper - I just love your girls ruffle shirt with bows & Pilar is such an elegant name. She looks great with brunette hair, so dramatic and fashionable!

Here is a photo of my Lottie with her clothes and wig on! I need to put in her new eyes as well but it'll have to wait till tomorrow.

7. @velouriumxcamperBeen a while since I've seen Pilar; she's as lovely as ever :aheartbea
@faireva O my your Lotti is so pretty. I love the way her lips are painted.

8. Thank you so much krystina! I am smitten with her adorable self.. hopefully I'll have some group photos out soon.

9. Oooh I can't wait to see the group photos :aheartbea faireva, I was just curious, is Dandy Tristan head sculpt slightly bigger than FOC Tristan head sculpt? It looks that way in your "Summertime hangout" photo, but it could just be the angle coupled with my bad eyesight

10. Sorry guys, I feel like I've been bombarding all the PW threads lately with my comments and photos. I'm just very excited and don't have people in my daily life to share my enthusiasm for bjds. ^^;

krystina, You know I didn't really notice that till you pointed it out but tonight I looked at them side by side very closely and decided that the Dandy Tristan does have a slightly wider jaw with lower cheeks. They both have a "heart shaped" face, but the boy seems to have a slightly squared off version, I hope I'm explaining this subtle difference well.

11. Please don't feel bad about it faireva, it's so nice when this thread is alive XD
I love your Lottie so much. She is absolutely gorgeous and SO cute. Her sculpt is super interesting, and very unique imo. Huge congratulations on having her home :D I hope to get a AB girl someday as well, their body looks super cool ^^

12. faireva Thank you guys for all the Sweet comments!! I am very happy to announce that my Lottie girl arrived today! She is so sweet and pouty looking! I made a box opening thread here.

Your new doll is smashing. Love the lip color with that wig. I wouldn't worry about too many posts, I've done that myself and felt the same way. I think we are all over-the-moon when we finally get our new dolls. I'd worry more about the lack of posts. I love seeing new outfits and whatever. I wish there were more posts and not just when dolls arrive. Who could afford that? Congrats on Lottie, so sweet. What color eyes are you putting in? Pictures....yes!

13. faireva I'm chiming in late, but congrats on your Lottie! She is absolutely adorable and so is her dress~ I'd love to try making something like that for my girls when they come in!

14. I have a clothing questions regarding jeans. I've got my eyes on some floral jeans that are offered thru TTYA on Etsy. Does anyone know if they would fit the PW SD body? They are a little on the spendy side and I'd hate to find out on arrival that they are too small.

15. @ Kurisu, Cathie, & DFSmiles Thank you guys SO much! I'm happy that other dolly fans admire sweet Lottie. It seems the open eyed version of her is rare on the forums, but I've always admired her cute and pouty features. The AB Femme is terrific with it's "locking" joint system and mature curves, & I enjoy the contrast it provides to the pixie-like Lolita frame.

CathieM - As for your Ttya jeans question, I've found that the SD13 version fits very well. The Khaki pants on my Tristan girl & boy in my backyard photo shoot are both Ttya. For the Lolita body they fit snugly like skinny jeans so they are a bit hard to pull over the heel feet but look great when worn, like a real teenage girl's style.

16. Ahhh~ Looking over your box opening again, I can hardly wait for my Goldies~ I ordered the AB body for my suntan Goldie so I'm eager to get her and dress her up and play with her posing! After that I think I'll order a Lolita body for my NS Goldie so I can have one of each. :)

17. Oh brother, like going to war to take the feet off everytime you put the jeans on. Can the doll sit with the jeans on? I like ease in dressing but the darn pants are so funky. Thanks faireva

18. I keep sighing over peaks woods dolls. T__T I love their sculpts so much, but I am so afraid of not bonding with them? Or maybe not being able to handle the bodies, I'm not sure.
Plus, I get this urgent feeling to, uh, eat them because of their smooth lines and the amazing colours they come in. I hope I don't sound creepy, but PK makes amazing skin tones and I cannot praise them enough for that. Looking through this thread has only made me adore them even more. Let me take a shower in all you photos and I could die happy. <3

19. Haha I think we can all relate to that kia20 XD
But do you have dolls from other companies? I don't think PW bodies are much different from others other than the aesthetics. They DO have so VERY smooth lines, so I totally know what you mean. It's very satisfying ;D
And yeah, all their skin tones are amazing! I sure hope you'll get to have one at some point. You shouldn't be afraid to get one. ^^

20. Hehehehe, I tooootally get what you mean about the smooth lines of the resin! :XD: That's one of the reasons the AB body appealed so much to me. There's also just something about resin in general that smells really good to me... I also feel that way about nice acrylic paints, hehehe.

21. DFS - I'm so happy for you and super excited to see your Goldies when they arrive!! :cheerTan AB Goldie sounds amazing! The posing of the AB body is very special, I love how she can sit seiza style.. she might need a kimono soon! hahah! My crew is getting too spoiled. ^^;

Cathie M - Yes she can sit very easily with the tight pants on, they are a little stretchy and have some give, so they allow for different poses. I posted a photo of Sally doing an extension pose on flickr with the pants on, you can see how they taper at the ankle but still allow for alot of knee flexion. She also has her new eyes in this photo, they are still blue but a bit lighter and the urethane catches the light nicely.

kia20 - LOL!!! They do look like big candies don't they??! Like those big white chocolate bunnies they sell around Easter!

22. She is adorable! Those shoes are amazing! Do you mind if I ask where you got them? My girls have no shoes :(

23. periwinklestars - I'm glad you like them! They fit really well, easy to put on too due to the zipper in back. They are from Denver Doll, they have them available in pink and black as well, in stock in USA so they ship quickly. They could have their shoes by next week!

24. I'm a little slow on my response here...just noticed your post on the TTYA jeans. They look great on your doll as do the eyes. Nice photo, cute pose. I did end up ordering the bibbed overalls with the baggy ankles. They were on the spendy side but everything I've ordered from this seller is very well made. I also ordered the T-shirt with the clown face, thought it looked cute with the bibs. I think my new Rogita (Rose) with the red lips will be wearing this. By the time she finally arrived, Dlight (Violet) had taken her stuff and worn it. They must learn to share.

25. I get paid this week and am ordering my Briana from Dolks. Yay! I'm super excited despite the wait time. I'm going to occupy my time by picking out clothing/wigs/shoes etc.

I do have a quick question, though. I want to order some clothes from DollHearts. What size should I get? SD10? 13? I'm really not sure I can get it right based on listed measurements because I have no hands on experience. Any advice?

26. Thanks! That's so good to know. I had no idea. I'm actually very lucky, because I live just about 20 minutes away from them :). I'll stop in Thursday when they are open to check them out.

27. Hi, for those who own an AB Femme body, would a pair of Leekeworld shoes fit? Leekeworld's shoes are 6.7cm while according to PW, their AB's feet are 6.8cm. Is the 1cm too big of a difference? Your help would be great. Thanks! :)

28. Cathie M - Congrats on your purchase! TTya does make really well made clothing, they are worth the extra expense I think, I haven't tried it yet, but I feel like they are even sturdy enough to put in the washing machine. Like real clothes! .. Maybe I'll try this if they get dirty enough in the future.. but probably in a delicates bag just to be safe. Also, Thanks for the compliments to Sally, she has been getting a bit spoiled lately but it's so much easier to find cute girl clothes than it is to find stylish boy digs. I need to get Lloyd more outfits ^^;

SamanthaMcKenny - Wow! I didn't realize that Dolks was selling the FOC faceplates! Congrats on beautiful Briana!! Koonie S in the FOB's kinda looks like her little sister to me, & I love her nose! I was under the impression that the FOCs were sold out until PW released them again, or if you could find one that was still in stock at a distributor like Denver Doll or Mint on Card. Cool! I find myself a bit tempted by Kisha now.. but I really need to wait! *trying to be good and not spend more resin monies* As for the question I think that SD13 would fit best, I think Allington mentioned that older Dollheart outfits tend to be a bit larger than newer DH sets, so I think a new Dollheart outfit in SD13 size would be best. They are slim for SD size, are you getting Lolita body type? If so, It is more slim than AB femme style body even. SD10 size might be the right circumference but short on the length required I would think.. but an outfit that said SD10/SD13 would probably be okay, especially if it ran a bit long, like a nice long skirt.

periwinklestars - OMG! You are lucky indeed!! I wish I lived near the store and could take my dolly to try on everything! I would be so broke though!! ahaha! :XD: Maybe I'm lucky afterall? like I missed a bullet? I hope you find what you are looking for, wish I could come with you! *.*

DollfiedStephanie - I'm not sure if Leekeworld fits the AB body, but I can say that 6.7 cm would be way to small lengthwise. A centimeter makes a big difference in dolly sizes, the shoe that I have that fits best is a 7 cm length x 2.6 cm width, and it is a low ankle boot that can be laced up, so can be adjusted a bit. I also found some strappy heels with 7 cm length but they are a bit too big depth wise, like for a "chubbier" foot, if that makes sense? I have 7.5 cm shoes that fit well on them as well, but they are high lace up boots (the ones pictured above with the link to my Tristan girl laying on her stomach from DDE) and can be adjusted somewhat due to the tightening of the laces. I would say that really, you want 3 mm at least additional room on the length of the foot - so for a 6.7 or 6.8 cm foot that would be 7 -7.1 cm length ideally, but since the foot has not only length but also width and height to consider, lace up shoes are the safest when ordering online. I would say that larger sized shoes are actually better than smaller, as I have a 7.5 cm length boot that fits quite well, and if they are loose a bit of crushed up tissue paper at the toe or socks can help tremendously, otherwise if too small - they just won't go on.

Also as a side note for everyone on feet - the AB Femme body and the Lolita body seem to have the same size shoe. I'm not sure if the official measurement is 6.7 or 6.8 cm but they both fit the same shoes in the same way.

My Lottie might have a name.. I'm thinking of naming her Georgiana. Marianne and Midori have also been running around in my mind as options, but Georgiana seems to be the best fit for her so far. Please excuse my long posts! Hope everyone is having fun with their resin companions!

I think Pilar needs some new clothes...I'll get to that at some point, haha.

I'm also expecting for my Rogita to get in sometime soon I hope. FFD's order was put in in March, and now it's August. I see some of you are getting your event dolls in now, so hopefully the wait won't be too too long for me now.

30. Yes, I'm very lucky! I love going there, but don't do it often because it is expensive :) They are so nice and they don't mind that I bring dolls in to try on everything. Of course, temptation is too great, so I've bought many things there over the years, including dolls. I'm planning to go next week on Thursday. I would love to have you come with me. Unfortunately, I don't have many dolly friends.

31. I find living near a doll shop both very convienent and very dangerous, haha. I live about 20 minutes away from Fabric Friends and Dolls, and while she's gotten a lot of my business (including going through her to get my PW girls) and I've made a lot of friends with the events and trunk shows that go on there...it's entirely too easy to go there and spend money D: Iris just does layaway so well!

Though that might just speak to my own lack of self control :P

32. It sounds so unreal when you talk about a physical shop. It's too good to be true XD
But it sounds so cool to be able to buy through a physical store with the social and real life experience as well *__*

33. The last trunk show we had, we got all three of our local groups invited, and we had about 50 people in the tiny shop. But it was a lot of fun.

34. Going to a physical doll shop sounds amazing~ *__* I'd love to visit Denver Doll Emporium one of these days, but I know I'd also come out with much emptier pockets, hahaha!
faireva I'm a bit partial to the name Georgiana due to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, hehehe. ;)

35. That's cool designedforsmiles! I've named my White Rabbit Tristan Fitzwilliam because he reminded me of Mr Darcy ;D I think Georgiana is a beautiful name ^^

36. Been lurking on this thread but too lazy to comment :sweat faireva I think Georgiana fits your Lottie very well! velourium your Pilar is looking ever-so-fabulous! I'm super jealous you live near a doll shop :XD:
Kurisu Fitwilliam is so unique. I've never heard of the name, is it from a book?

37. krystina It's an English name as far as I know. Its the first name of Mr Darcy (One of the main characters in the book Pride and Prejudice) ;)

38. O! I will need to reintroduce myself to the classics lol.

39. Oh gosh! *^^* Thank you all so much for the sweet words of praise to Georgiana's naming. I adore Pride and Prejudice as well but inspiration for her name came from the Duchess of Devonshire, I've always loved that name.. it embodies elegance to me.

Periwinklestars - I would Looooove to go to Denver Doll Emporium with you!! Too bad I live all the way in Houston, Texas and am not scheduled for a trip to Denver yet. I do want to go up there though! Maybe when I visit Colorado for skiing and the hot springs I can meet up with you for some dolly fun! :D I'm still your dolly friend though, albeit an online one for now.

veloriumxcamper - That trunk show sounds stupendous! What fun! And sweet Pilar looks like she is a pretty college girl hanging out on the quad. Be sure and show off her new clothes and Rogita when they arrive! *excited*

40. Got Dahlia outside finally for pics in her new dress. :) I need to make some adjustments to it because the lining over her bust kept falling under chest. haha But overall I love this look on her. ^___^

[IMG]Dahlia05 by Angelina S, on Flickr

41. She is so cool CuriousRaven! I love her style. ^^ did you make that dress?

42. ah thank you! :D Dahlia is still one of my all time favorite dolls so I love spoiling her. The dress is actually from Tata's Paradise (ordered thru taobao). Although I love this style on her so much I think I might come up with my own pattern for something similar that's actually made to fit her properly (that underlayer just won't stay over her chest! XD ). I purchased a soldering iron to try my hand at cutting/sealing synthetic chiffon and have some pretty chiffon's that would make great dresses so now I just need to unbury my sewing machine...

43. New discussion thread: Part VI

:)
