I do love the Blue-grey skin too. I am very pleased with the way it looks for my Alice. She is a fantasy character to me, so the Blue-grey looks so great for her personality, IMO. You can see the blue shade in the right light for sure.

 

Yeah ^__^ its a really interesting and pretty skin colour, especially with peakswoods 'mystical' style faceups haha
Your wig looks so shiny and smooth btw, it looks great on her

I know the Yeru sculpt is not one of the more popular sculpts, but I have to say, Amber, is one of my very favorite PW dolls. There is something about her that just pulls at my heartstrings.

Beth L, Thanks for the comparison picture! I love your dolls - they are all so beautiful! I'm happy that I have a grey Tristan and little blue-grey FOF vamp Lady Alice coming - someday - wish I knew when I'll get them. I do regret missing out on Dlight in the diamond grey though (that color may be my favorite, based on your photo). I should have put her on layaway in December. I see what you mean about your Yeru - she seems so vulnerable and sweet.

 

Great. Now I want a Yeru. I blame you, Beth L! I can't stop staring into her big, soulful eyes. She's really beautiful!

 

Okay.... so now that I have both my Tristans on layaway, I really want to wig shop. Anyone have any favorite wig companies for them? Any suggestions on sizing for good fit? Tristan's head looks a little small to me, but I don't know if that's because where her face is centered on her sculpt, because while I was told PW girls are 8/9 wig size, my WU Goldie wore 9/10 wigs. Any help? Also on the boys? Are the boy heads actually about the same size as the girls? Thanks for any help!

 

I'm glad I started following Peak's Woods on Facebook or I would've missed the announcement completely!! I am quite distressed about it... I have bought quite a few dolls in the last couple of years (though maybe up to half of them were secondhand) and it's dramatically reduced my savings. Even though Peak's Woods is one of my favorite companies, I hoped FoC would be around for a while longer so I could get one when the timing and budget were better, but it's now or never!

The hardest thing is deciding between regular Goldie and Wake-up Goldie!!

 

im sure the ''basic'' dollies will come back , just not as the normal basic line :P maybe in pre-order periods? o_o have any1 actually asked about that?

 

[MENTION=743]reitaism[/MENTION], for wigs I've found Leeke 8-9 fit great on Dlight (so probably on other FoCs too), and they're very pretty and have lots of choice.
And [MENTION=67499]daepus[/MENTION], I did ask them for the basics and they said some might come back as LE but it's not a sure thing for all sculpts...

 

I'm guessing the FOC event will be some of the basic-line sculpts in some of the new colors (suntan and blue-grey) ;P
I have a feeling it might be that...

 

I was thinking of picking some up from Leeke, but they are always hit or miss in style, like.. the more styled the wig is, the more it does not look like that when I get it ~_~;;; But I do love the more variety of color.. I may go that route. I had a Crobi 9/10 wig I used on my WU Goldie, does anyone else use Crobi? Particularly any Tristan owners that have tried? With their season limited colors preorder going on right now, I'd like to pick up a few of those *3* Or anyone try Luts?

 

I use Crobidoll size 9/10 for my Dandy Bella and it fits perfectly (it fits snug). I heard the 8/9 sizes for that company were too small. I've tried a 9/10 sized fur wig from Sunny' World and it is too big.

 

I have an 8/9 wig for my Tristan and it's a bit loose. But it's also an off brand wig so that might be the reason why, haha.

 

Leeke wigs have fit well on my girls. Size 8/9 is the best fit. Some wigs may be a tad big, but better a bit big than too small. I recently bought a size 8.5 wig that was too small for my vamp Tristan.

 

Yes! I bought a 8/9.. that I guess they are just calling 8 now for one of my F60s, and it was too small but he was swimming in the 9/10 so I've been really cautious now cos wigs ain't cheap, especially when you have to pay ems shipping for them ~_~ My 9/10 Sunnys are also a bit too big on any of my guys, but thanks for letting me know about the 9/10 on your Bella, that really helps a lot!

I forgot to mention that DollHeart wigs size 8.5-9.5 fit well too. I have quite a few DollHeart wigs for my girls. They have a good variety of styles.

Was the tropical tan they had before a one-off limited thing or do you think they will ever offer it again?

 

I think the tropical didn't sell well or was too difficult to make or something. I remember reading somewhere that they weren't sure if they'd ever offer it again.
Their suntan is gorgeous tho

 

The Tropical tan is like the grey. Only offered sometimes. I think after that tropical tan Dlight they thought they wouldn't be selling it again, but a lot of people have written to PW to ask if they will offer it again, so I wouldn't be surprised if they make a LE in tropical tan at some point ^^
Feel free to write them and ask. The more people who express their interest, the better the chance

I have to confess I am really nervous about the change to LE from Basics--especially since I have a rather long list of dolls I'd like to add to my collection (again) at some point, including Wake Up Cue, Vamp Briana, Viyol (maybe) and/or Yulli. I just can't do them all at the same time--though maybe they will offer an extra head event. I see makeup for the heads alone is no longer being offered--and I understand that--but it makes me so sad!

Waaa! What to do? Seriously--I've had nightmares about dropping one of my tan dolls (it's usually Briana, poor thing) and not being able to replace her. I think I might be obsessed.

 

Got the news this morning! My boy and girl Tristans have shipped! I'm super excited over here!! I haven't prepared for their homecoming yet but I wanted to see them in person before buying wigs or making clothes. But I'll be posting my nekkid kiddos soon! I've been sorely tempted with the Dandy Briana or Basic (now limited) Cosmo but as these are my first SD sized dolls I'm being cautious. If the Tristans arrive before the end of the event I might reconsider and get another Dandy. Perhaps when the Lunar holiday I over I'll ask if they plan to release Cosmo again as a limited. I'm so excited to see everyone's new dolls!

 

Oh I just asked them about Cosmo the other day (for the same reason lol) they said that basically he might come back as a LE if the feel inspired but he's not in any plans for now. I can find the exact quote for you later if you want (on my phone now sorry)

 

Kawachu, Thanks so much for the offer, I'd love you to post or message it later at your convenience, I'm so glad you asked. Cosmo is such a unique PW sculpt, he looks more masculine to me than the other Dandies but also has a innocent expression. I'd love to have him in tropical or suntan, it seems like a long shot at this point though. Since both my incoming dolls are suntan I'm seriously considering getting him as normal skin.
I wonder if PW would do hand blushing on the basic if I offered to pay extra.. Has anyone done this before?

 

No problem, I'll post it as soon as I can I have the same feelings about Cosmo. My incoming Bella is such a serein gentle sculpt and I find Cosmo to be more boyish and a bit more edgy. And lol I was wondering the same things about hand blushing, please lemme know if you ask as I'd be interested to know too.

 

Okay I'll shoot an email to them tonight but since they are on holiday we may have to wait on the reply, but I'll let you know what they say asap - that hand blushing is exquisite! I'm really loving Briana too because he reminds me so much of Bella, I understand it's the same basic sculpt but with open eyes and closed lips? I couldn't afford all 3 during the wickedland event but if I could have I'd have a trio coming in! Lol

Iris from Fabric and Friends emailed Peak's Woods and they said they're really really sorry for the delay in her shipment (which includes my wake-up Goldie), but that they'll ship it in March once they're back from holiday. They said it has something to do with not having enough people for faceups. But I'm still excited that she should be here next month in time for the Cherry Blossom Festival. (I'm from D.C. so that's huge around here.)

When you scroll down on the PW site there is a link to their info page regarding how to use PayPal and such.

Hello everyone, just wanted to share a pic of my Tristan Elf who finally got a make-up, almost on year after i bought her ^^;

My Tristan elf has finally arrived at Customs and I thought after waiting 9 months for her I would be really excited, but I am a little bit worried that I am not going to know what to do with her - she is so different from my other dolls, and I haven't even bothered to buy her any clothes. I will post up,some pics when she arrives and we'll see how we get on

I felt the same way before even ordering her, being worried about her because she will be so different from my other girls, but then when I see pics of Tristan, I fall in love all over again and think 'screw it, who cares' xD I hope you will love her when you get her. What skin tone did you get her in?

Bumping up a bit question on Tristan's eyes, since we have all these Tristans.... preference on size? On Dandy Tristans too?

also... with how popular Tristan is, I kinda hope they do another Elf Tristan release xD I wanted her in white to go with my gray vamp xD

 

Actually my Tristan Vampire is still in her box since I received her in December. I didn't have a name or character or idea or anything so she sat unopened. I decided to script a box opening and once I named her and her character fell into place I got excited. I still haven't opened her because I'm putting together a box opening photo story and I'm almost ready. I think I got excited by her look but with the long layaway I never really followed up on who she was. Also I took some time off from dolls last year so that played into it as well. But now I'm looking forward to seeing her. Now it would be really hilarious if I opened up the box and it was the wrong doll!

 

Dollhausen, I dunno how you could stand the wait! xD I'm practically ripping the box open before I can even set it down lol

Wow, I admire your self control, but I think it's a wise move because now you will have an excitement for her. It's easy to dismiss a doll because you can't do anything with her. This way you will have a bond with her when you do open her. I can't wait to see your box opening shoot.

Ishtar - Wait until you see your Elf Tristan in person. Once you see her a plan and/or character may just come to you.

I felt the exact same way about my Elf Tristan. She was the very first fantasy type doll I had ever ordered. I loved her when she arrived, but she sat in her box for a while until I found the right look for her. That took a while too! The first look I had in mind did not work for her once I tried it on her. It took some time, but her character finally came through and I dearly love her. I hope the same happens with you and your doll.

 

Seeing all these Tristans make me really want get mine painted asap!
