Sewing Pattern help please

Dec 16, 2019

    1. Does anyone know where I could get a sewn cardigan pattern for a 65cm “male” doll like the Luts Senior65? Or like a way to modify a pattern to be a cardigan? I’m only finding knitting patterns

    2. I've made 'sewn' cardigans by cutting up an old sweater of mine. Of course you have to have at least a long sleeved shirt pattern to use and serge or zigzag the edges well around the pattern on the material before cutting out. I have to modify every pattern I use so I can't even recommend a pattern. Look in the sewing section here and see if there is anything for a male shirt. You might have to try several mockups before you are ready to tackle the real material.

    3. I think there would be a way to modify a t-shirt pattern into a cardigan. If you split the pattern down the middle and added in the overlap and maybe increased the seam allowance or slightly enlarged the pattern generally. Also depending on what kind of neck you want the cardigan to have you could easily modify it to have a v-neck. Theres a tutorial on youtube for drafting a t-shirt pattern maybe you could work out the pattern using that technique.

I am kind of in the same situation with clothes a lot of my guys are SD17 sized so its quite a battle finding patterns for them.

    4. alright, thank you for the advice! I’ll have to go on a hunt for a T-shirt pattern.

Thanks, enlarging it definitely seems like a good idea!
