Fingers crossed for a quick trip through customs and the fees aren't too bad! She will be worth it whatever happens!
Well she has arrived and customs was not too bad at all, the shoes and clothing I ordered have also arrived so will try and take some photos but seems the flu bug has finally got its claws into me and it is a real effort to do anything.
Did anyone see Pasha’s post on Instagram about offering her mini Pasha girls next Thursday?!? I’m so so tempted, but I was hoping the smaller girls would at least be a tad cheaper...ugh, $900. Where is the money tree when I need it? Hope she offers layaway this round *crosses fingers*
Yes I saw that and thought the same about the price! I would love a mini size doll but not sure I would choose one over the larger size as they cost the same.
Judging by the price her eBay girl went for, I wouldn't be surprised if the prices go up for the full size one. Her dolls are becoming more and more in demand.
Good. I heard about these dolls through StellaMarigold, and have been lurking on this thread and obsessing around the web site. I'd finally been convincing myself that I would go for one on the next preorder. But if she jacks up the price, I'll be safe!
I'm glad I got you interested in them, @dollhausen! Personally, I'm waiting for the SD size preorder (although even then, I don't know if I'll be able to afford it unless I can start making money with dolls - they've got to earn their keep!). I like the MSD size, but I think it is just a tiiiny bit too small to work with the wonderful aGatti dolls (in my opinion, the best MSD mature males out there), so I will pass on this current preorder. I hope the price for the SD size doesn't go up, but I can attest from my embroidery work that making something smaller doesn't necessarily mean it is easier to make. In fact, downsizing is more difficult than upsizing! You don't need the same quantity of materials for a smaller item, but when it comes to working with tiny little details, careful sanding of tiny fingers, making molds, etc. I think smaller would be just as time-consuming as the larger size. So maybe the same price doesn't indicate that the SD size will be more expensive - it may just mean that both sizes are equally demanding to make. Edited to add: As I understand it, her fullset dolls (like the one sold on Ebay) have always been much more expensive than the blank dolls (and rightly so!) so I wouldn't necessarily anticipate a price change for the SD size from ebay prices. But you may be right about the increase in demand ultimately raising the prices!
I don't know why the price would go up. Her full set girls have always gone for around 2-4k. And I don't know that demand has increased all the much either--her second pre-order a year ago sold out in about 20 minutes. I got my girl in last month and I can tell you she is worth every one of those 900$... She's just a fucking work of art.
absolutely agree! they're amazing! This art doll with its own recognizable style! and I need a mini and another one of the usual size .... but the price of course bites ....
Good luck with that. My attempt at a dolly housecleaning service ended in total failure. They're too lazy to sweep or mop. They pretty much lay around asking me to get them expensive clothing and shoes. Ugh, and fancy wigs. But when I get mad, I look at them and they're so cute that I cave in to their desires. And yes, Kerri, that price bites. Sigh...
LOL! Well, I'm afraid I'm one of the many who justify doll purchases with "but I can make clothes to sell!" I really DO want to try making some doll clothes, though! I have hand-sewed various items for years - that must count for something! Plus I used to really enjoy making clay miniature desserts and so on. Part of the reason why I wanted dolls was so I would have a reason to make miniature books, jewelry, food, etc. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! (Edited to add: sorry that was all off-topic! I'll try to say something about the Pasha dolls next time!)
Yes, that's a familiar refrain around here. When I started out, I made coffins for my dolls. But have run out of steam on that one. Now I just throw money at them. One of the things I like about Pasha dolls is the nice clothing she makes. She's got style. If she's doing a mini preorder now I wonder if that means it's going to be a long time until she does another for the larger dolls....
Coffins? That's sounds like fun! I love a lot of the Pasha clothing as well, especially the clothes made from hard to handle materials - she was selling a really nice leather jacket, for example. I also like the fact you can buy things like gloves and shoes on Shapeways and customize them. That's a really nice idea, and I hope she continues to add items to her account there.
The last pre-order (#4) for the big girls was September. I believe most of that batch are now at Pasha’s being prepared for shipping - I know because I’m checking my email constantly hoping my girl has shipped - so that’s 5 months. I would guess the next large girl pre-order will be July/August-ish.
Did anyone try for a mini? I was on the page when the clock timer went live, but the doll kept saying sold out. I just tried now and it went through, so if u were trying an hour ago like me with no luck, please go back now and try again.
Has anyone ordered? I’m on the fence since I discovered only Sanity was available...but, I don’t have her, and, and...ugh
Well, I bit the bullet after telling myself I’d sell two dolls to cover her cost Tried to go the layaway route, but I took too long apparently, and the layaway option was closed...oh, well there goes my hopes for saving some cash this month, lol.
First half decent photo of Pink Panther, sorry it has taken me 2 weeks but I have been ill with the flu which started the day I picked her up, can't remember when I was last so poorly, still not back to normal. DSCN7070 by avrilbartlett, on Flickr
Congrats avrilpaeony , She is stunning, I hope you feel better soon. Been a fan of Pasha Setrova's art dolls for years but can't figure out how to get on a mailing list or whatever so I can be notified next time they are up for pre-order, anyone know please?
I didn't know until someone posted here on DOA about her announcement on Instagram. I would make sure to be a follower of her Instagram as the minis preorder was announced via Instagram.
Thanks avrilpaeony, I do folow her on Facebook, but like so many FB people I follow I no longer see their posts unless I go directly to their page. Follow-up: apparently you have to also press "See first" if you want to actually be kept updated on an artists page on facebook now, I didn't know that. You would think choosing to "follow" and artist would be enough!
Hello everyone. Do you know where I could find comparative resin pictures of Pashapasha dolls with other resin dolls? I am especially looking to see how "white bone" and "milk with blood" are actually looking... Thank you in advance
avrilpaeony, congrats on the arrival of your Pink Panther! I hope you're better now, so you can show more photos of her My girl has shipped now and it seems that a big part of last year's order are on their way, has anyone received their doll yet?
Another photo of Pink Panther now named Pandora, dress is one I made from a remnant of sari fabric for my Raccoondoll. and wig was made for a MSD size doll. DSCN7088 by avrilbartlett
Does Pashapasha not reply to people's enquires? I have emailed several times, I have messaged several times on facebook and Instagram not one reply from her.
She has always answered all my questions. Maybe she is too busy or is receiving too many questions...
Hello I’m a new BJD collector and I’m joining this discussion because I recently fell in love with Pasha dolls. Hoping I can own one one day. Does anyone know when the next ordering will happen? Also, is there a database in this forum where I can check the measurements of a pasha doll? I heard that there are some dolls that have a hard time fitting into ready made clothes sold on online doll clothes shops. How do pasha dolls fit with standard clothing sold by ready to wear shops? Thanks for the reply. Sorry if I’ve asked something already answered in this thread. It is a long thread and I’m still working my way through it.
PashaPasha dolls are not a standard size as they are tall but thin, it is a bit of trial and error really as some MSD size items fit and some slim SD size but there are some very good sellers on etsy who make clothing/shoes specifically for her body.
A friend asked me to provide a size comparison photo of my dolls 53cm in height and below, I thought people here may find it useful. Apologies some of the smaller dolls do not show too clearly but it is simply a size comparison. Left to right: Dollstown Elf 53cm; Pashapasha Breath 53cm; Yukidoll 49cm; popovy Doll 41cm; InspireDoll 41cm; Bardo Research doll 40cm; Natalia Loseva Doll 37cm
Hi, please do any of you have owner pics (or close-ups of the face) of either Breathe or Sanity because every reference pic I find on Flickr/Pinterest is either unlabelled or says it's Pulse. The face pics on Pasha's site are tiny, I find it hard to see the difference between Pulse and Breathe.... they both seem to have open mouths with teeth showing?
On her Instagram there are a lot of pictures: PashaPasha Official Page (@pashapasha_newyork) • Instagram photos and videos This picture shows Breath (left) and Pulse (right): PashaPasha Official Page on Instagram: “The same color palette on two different heads and it looks so different. Leave a comment please ” Breath has more puckered lips than Pulse This should be Breath, too: PashaPasha Official Page on Instagram: “Named by @tmaifat @irina1172 @kasia_nowak_kattie @biscuit_doll Eva It was so awesome to have so many choices. ” And this picture shows the Sanity head well, even though it's the mini version: PashaPasha Official Page on Instagram: “Hey guys. Thank you for all the name suggestions. I am still choosing though. So please help me with that. ❤️ PPM, Sanity head, Milk With…” On another note, I received my Pulse a few weeks ago and after giving her a Face-up and making her a wig I can show her ^^ My boyfriend says she looks like a transvestite, but I like her. And she poses really well! The milk and blook skintone was a bit darker than I expected, but now that I have worked with her it's a really nice colour
@MuhKuh your pulse looks amazing! i love the faceup you made on her and i love the milk with blood skin tone!
I'm pretty tempted to jump on this upcoming preorder but I think Pulse is my favorite unless ordering just heads is possible when she is available in the future. Otherwise I'll need to be strong and wait for next time!
Thanks MuhKuh - I can see the difference now. Sadly I think I am in the same position as you, LotusMoon.... I will only be able to afford 1, so I guess I should wait for my favourite (Pulse) to be available again Your Pulse is beautiful btw... I think that other worldly "is she a girl or is she a boy" vibe is what makes these dolls so attractive OHHHHH LORDY!!!! I keep changing my mind, earlier I had decided to wait for Pulse but just saw her facebook post... both Breathe and Sanity looking amazing!
I just ordered my first Pasha doll Breath in White Bone, I haven't ordered the face up yet, I am wondering what you get when you order the Standard compared to the hyperrealistic, I can sort of imagine what the hyper realistic looks like but what can you expect from the random $50 and do you have any input in it or you just get whatever she sends? Also, if you weren't in love with the random painting is it hard to remove it and have another face up done?
Hi DixieD, Congratulations, I ordered yesterday too: Breathe in Blood with Milk. I ordered mine plain so can't help with the face-up question except to say I am sure it will be fab and you can always enhance it yourself with more blusher to bring it closer to the hyper realistic version PS: MuhKuh - thanks for that photo reference, the more I looked at the two heads together the more I fell in love with Breathe after all. Yay!
So you went for it after all Yve, couldn't wait for the next pre-order then, my Pulse is the blood with milk and strange description but lovely colour. As I bought mine ready done she had the face up already but it is even better in real life than in photos.
I'm glad I could be of help and it's great to see more of the Breath sculpt around in the future Pulse seems to have been the more popular sculpt so there were only few owner pictures of the other girls around. I wish I had the money/space/time to order Breath and Sanity, but for now I will have to skip the preorder. grotebur/vonbonbon, I'm glad you like my Pulse I will probably try to make her another wig, this one is too "boring" for her...
I took the plunge and ordered Breath in Milk Bone and treated myself with faceup and body blush. I’ll just have to be extra careful handling her when I start making patterns for her.
Congrats DominiqueB MuhKuh _ your girl looks anything BUT boring.... but hey, more wigs are always a good thing avrilpaeony: I drove myself mad with the Devil on one shoulder, going "You know you want to!" and the Angel saying "Just be patient, you know you want Pulse".... but then I kept looking at those photos and realised I actually prefer Breathe now I know which is which, lol
Hello everyone I have at home at last my Pasha Pulse Original size, the photos do not appreciate how beautiful these dolls are. Is incredible . Every detail. I have not bought the small size of Pasha because I can not buy everything. But they are also very beautiful. But if I have to choose, I would choose the Original size again.
