Paging Robin/Pretentious Resin

I am also seeking Robin. I sent her 5 doll outfits to be sold on her site and while (after a month) she finally messaged me to tell me she'd be returning the outfits its been 2 or 3 weeks since then and I have yet to hear from her again.

 

The time has expired on it, that is why. You only have 45 days.

 

I'd suggest PMing one of the mods.
That's what i had to do just to get Robin to tell me she was going to return my clothes. Of course since then I have yet to hear from her again.

DoA user Robin runs the site www.pretentiousresindolls.com. We worked out a deal where I would make a limited line of clothes and she'd sell them on her site. Communication was great and everything until I was done and sent the first set of clothes to her (valuing over $100). Once she told me she received them communication stopped.

Over a month of unanswered e-mails and PMs passed before I finally contacted DoA mods; although Robin had been on DoA multiple times within that span. They must have done something because she FINALLY wrote me back saying she'd send back the clothes; not giving a real reason for the lack in communication.

It has been a month since THAT promise. Again multiple e-mails and PMs in that time have gone unanswered. My issue with Robin has remained unresolved as of this time and I sadly do not see her making good on ANY of her promises.

If anyone sees an outfit like this for MSD or SD for sale from anyone other than Medipac Designs (me) let me know immediately! This is MY personal design and I have handmade 5 outfits for her that she has yet to give back.


As evidence here I am not the only one who has given money/items of value to Robin only to receive nothing in return.

Robin has been missing for some time. I'm not sure what happened to her. She started a group order and then vanished before it was placed. I'm hoping something bad didn't occur.

Does anyone have contact information for her other than email? She has posted in meetup threads a couple of times about hosting meetups in Columbia, MO. I believe that is where she lives, though I don't have an address or phone number.

 

She lives in a small town outside of Columbia, MO. Were you also ripped off by her as well? I got her number from a Columbia local DoA user who was VERY nice. I could maybe give it to you if you have a dispute with her. Understandably I don't want to give something like that out in a thread. Bad business practices aside I wouldn't do that to anyone.

Also I was informed by another DoA user that Robin dropped out of a GO thread she started. I hope nothing bad has happened to her. I have a feeling just some much needed communication could go a long way here.

No, I hadn't participated in a transaction with her, but I saw this thread and remembered reading her posts. I thought I'd share the info in case her location hadn't been pinpointed yet. (I know on the PR site it says MO, but not the city). I'm glad you have some contact info and wish you luck!

Yes, it is her. Unfortunately I did not find this thread until this morning. I won an auction from her last night. Although paypal generally recommends waiting 7 days before starting a dispute, I called them about the situation and was told I should go ahead and start one now to try to either make sure I get my item or the money. Thank you for posting your information because she has 100% satisfaction on ebay and I otherwise would have had no way of knowing. I will let you all know what happens.

 

I have removed pretentiousresin from my list of sellers links I have here on DOA as Rabbit-Moon advised me of this situation. I never thought I'd have an issue like this with a seller where I'd have to make such a decision, but here it is. I can't support a company that treats their customers so poorly and I won't advertise them so someone else can get snared. Good luck with getting a resolution everyone.

 

How lovely, I too ordered a doll from her in April complete with wig, eyes and face-up. Her communication was great for me until the end of June as well. I also tried filing a dispute, but I was also over the 45 day mark.

Anyway, I myself am the PA AOD retailer, so I will contact Aaron Egawa, since he is in charge of us retailers. I ordered from Robin before becoming a retailer, if anyone has question marks on their foreheads. I am sick to my stomach that a fellow AOD retailer is doing this to us, it's horrid!

I will let everyone know what Aaron says, and if he can provide any help. This is quite ridiculous.

 

I did not know she was removed off the retailer site. Perhaps Aaron has had complaints already about her, but did not know she is still taking people's money. This is terrible; now I am worried I myself will lose sales, as this can make people afraid of us retailers!

Update: I received a very fast reply from Aaron just a few moments ago. Here is the message he sent;

I really hope one bad seller doesn't ruin business for AoD sellers because I have a WS 1/3 AoD body and it a perfect resin match for my NS DIM MNM head AND I love how it poses and just the over all look.

 

Robin of Pretentious Resin has been BANNED from Den of Angels. Her dishonest commerce practices are deeply concerning and the mods/admins of the board sincerely hope that each of our members who are currently involved in unresolved transactions with this person receive compensation or resolution. Those who still have time limits that allow it, should most probably begin filing disputes.

Thanks to the early warning, I started a dispute with paypal the day after ordering from her on Ebay. I left her a message telling her about it and she said that she couldn't ship until Monday because the UPS store is closed. I haven't heard from her today, so I left her another message stating that if I don't get shipping information (at the very least), I am going to escalate the paypal dispute and initiate one on Ebay. I consider myself to be extremely lucky that I discovered this when I did. I just got onto the forums last week and I'm a total newbie (but learning quick thanks to LadySaiyuki). I'd prefer giving the benefit of the doubt, but given what happened to others who did that and let the 45 days go up, there was no way I was gonna let that happen to me. Unfortunately, since she doesn't have enough reviews to have the 2,000 paypal protection, it's 200 at the most, but at least it's something.

 

I actually placed an order for two sets of eyes from Robin in May (for a group order I was told would arrive in July). I had a response from her soon after it when I asked a few questions I had and I had planned to contact her about it more recently when I came across this thread.

I have no idea if that order was ever placed with AoD, though.

It was for a pair of 16mm glass eyes in color 7 on her site and a pair of 14mm color 23.


I'm feeling a bit grateful I didn't purchase anything that was too very expensive now.

Just thought I would post an update. I received the item I purchased from her today. She never did give me a tracking number and I had escalated the dispute to a claim this morning, but just received the item about 10 minutes ago.

 

I bought a Juli head from her through ebay and she never answered my emails. Then, all of a sudden, after I had already left her negative feedback, the head arrived. I closed the claim, but I still feel she should have communicated better.

 

It looks like Robin is okay, since she is obviously working on Ebay. Does anyone that bought from her have her e-mail address on Ebay? I'd really like my money back (all $260 of it!) and I know other's do too. So maybe if I can contact her there we might move ahead. I could also give that e-mail to AOD and Aaron as they cannot get a hole of her. She dsabled everything they have.

Also, incase no one else has seen it, AOD has updated the official site with a warning about her. So yes, AOD and all of us other reliable retailers know and are aware of this. She better start paying people back soon, I know I could never live with myself if I was a thief. =/

 

Its just such a shame since she seems to be doing well on ebay, albeit not very communicative.
What is her ebay name? Perhaps we can send her a question via ebay since it seems she gets on there fairly regularly.

I e-mailed Robin on Monday or Tuesday (can't remember), and still have not received a response from her directly. However, Wednesday I put in a charge dispute with my credit card company. I am so sick of this woman it's unreal, and I kinda had to kick myself for not thinking about disputing the charge earlier. My CC company is now hunting down Robin and trying to sort everything out. I suggest anyone else who paid her with a CC try and do the same. I explained to American Express the situation, and they said that I am not too late to dispute the charge.

Thats probably your best bet. I could get the information from ebay, but it's against the privacy rules to give that information out. I may sound like a goody two-shoes for following rules like that, but all it would take is for her to complain about someone giving out the information and I'd be screwed. Unless I'm somehow misreading Ebay's rules.

I am very very very sorry that I cannot help you with this, honestly I've gone around in circles with rules and laws and ethics and morals and I'm horribly conflicted.

I know it's not much of a consolation, but if I ever decide to buy an AOD doll, I'll be sure to go to you.

Again, I am really sorry to you and to everyone else who has not been as lucky as me to actually get their items. I really wish I was more experienced (after all, I've only been at this for maybe a month?), then I'd probably know better what to do.

 

I don't think it is against their rules to give it out when she has stolen money from others. Besides, how could she know WHO it was?

 

This woman is a fraud. I gave whatever info I had on her to Rynn. I am sorry I threw out the box with her address on it. Shame on people who take money away from honest people that just want to buy a doll. We save up so much to realize a dream! Whatever info you got you should give Rynn. Please.

I'm sorry for being difficult, I hope you can understand why I was hesitating about using information gotten from ebay. I'm very new to this hobby and I don't know the ins and the outs and what you should and should not do and it's very confusing for me because by giving out contact information for anybody could open up a whole new can of worms if someone starts using the information for harassment. The internet is not that anonymous and it could all be turned back on me. I don't know what kind of trouble that would bring, but I don't want trouble from anybody. This hobby was supposed to be something new to make me happy, not something that would make me feel like a horrible person for one reason or the other. I'm very sorry for not volunteering the information immediately, I'm not trying to hinder anybody. Please don't think of me as a bad person for it.

Ebay doesn't mind if you give out the information to someone privately when this person had money stolen from them. I e-mailed Ebay (erased the message, so no quote this time, darn it), but they pretty much said that they would not ask for the user who gave me the information, and they hope I can get some justice now. So thanks so much again, Gus!

 

Never got my clothes back, nor did I ever get paid.
She's been incommunicado for over a year now.

I don't think her e-bay account is active either.

Anyone know if she is still working as an AoD seller or seller of any kind?
