Hi, I recieved a message from Angelesque regarding a problem order today. V confused and more than a little upset. I ordered a doll which came with the wrong body, also some missing outfits/wigs though that is now resolved. Anyway I received this message from her back many months ago when I was struggling to get a replacement. Heya, I apologise for the silence from me, i have contacted them about the problem, they have apologised, they offered me a snow white body the right size but as your girl is translucent white i said this isn’t ok, and i am still in the process of confirming with them that she is in production for her new body. i do try 3 times a week but not had a response for about 2 weeks, unfortunately this has become typical, so i will keep trying and will update you as i can, i ope this is ok for now Carol xxx I had interpreted this as, you know, the snow white resin being not ok was her rejecting it. There was no further mention of resin colour at all later. I replied with one sentence: Thank you for the info! Until now...a few days ago I received an email saying that I will need to exchange the whole doll not just the body as the resin for the replacement is snow white, not translucent white. She screen-shotted those emails above as proof I was informed and asked me to confirm their was no problem. I sent this email to her I am afraid I do not understand? You told me you were offered a snow white body, and that you said this was not ok. I ordered a translucent white body and understood that your message meant that you would get the correct resin for the body. This is the reply I got... Ah, they contacted me and said they would not sell me just a new body, i would have to order the whole new doll and the only skin colour that they would produce this in was the snow white, so i told you that the snow white was offered. I didn’t mean to confuse or mislead you here, this is now the one i have and of course have paid for, are the colours hugely different? i havent seen them to compare, what would you want to do with this situation now? Am I being unreasonable?? Because the different resin isn't a small thing to me, not a huge one, but def not minor. Please let me know if I am in the wrong here. (I have an autistic spectrum disorder and can misunderstand). I just don't know. I thought this was over...
No, you are not being unreasonable I don’t think, but more information might be necessary. This sounds like the unfortunately-usual situation of what should be a simple order getting very confused and mixed up. If the doll was not able to be made in translucent white, why were you allowed to order it that way in the future? Why did it arrive in the correct colour, albeit on the wrong body? Why is the company now refusing to make an order they fulfilled the first time? Those are the questions you might need to ask Carol to find out how this happened.
The doll was available in translucent white when I ordered, in the final email carol stated that they only offer it in snow white now. I have checked the Angell Studio website and they no longer offer the translucent resins at all. I think I read somewhere that they have been discontinued.
I am afraid the only way to find out what really happened is to ask the company about that order. I have gone through a similar ordeal, and other messed up order stories of that nature where reported elsewhere. It's always, invariably starting with the company delivering the wrong body according to Carol. I know there is at least a possibility that not all info you have been given by Carol is correct. I have been fed outright lies, for instance. The only way to really find out is to confirm this with the company. I assume you are long past the paypal claim period? There is absolutely nothing wrong with insisting on getting what you ordered and paid for. After such a long time of having been strung along there is nothing wrong with being upset at still having to discuss this. This is a business transaction, not a friendship service gone awry.
Hi, I can confirm that Angell Studio discontinued the translucent resin colours quite a while back. They just do the solid white, solid yellow, solid pink and tan now so that would be why Carol couldn't get the replacement doll in the translucent colour like she originally hoped and why she's been sent a solid white one instead.
This has happened to me multiple times too haha. I would say I'm glad I'm not alone, but... I'm not glad. They were miserable and frustrating ordeals.
Oh I'm sorry this happened to you, too. We could do well without that kind of thing in this wonderful hobby... What gets me is that it seems like the same story keeps happening again and again, and another customer has to go through this. All those stories starting with "the doll was delivered with the wrong body", you know... in my case the truth of the matter was Carol ordered my doll with the wrong body, but she told me it was the company's fault. She told me she was working hard, for months, to fight for my right to get the right body delivered when in truth her negotiations with the company only took so long because they refused to mend a mistake they were not responsible for in the first place. The company insisted on a complete new and paid for order to make the doll again, which was absolutely justified. And then Carol wants the customer to applaud her for "paying for this out of my own pocket", when it had been her responsibility to do so all along. I know of at least one other case where this is what happened, and now Merla's story sounds so, so familiar to me. Then add to that that Carol has placed orders months after they should have been placed without telling her customers so (and in the waiting rooms it is a common topic that Angelesque orders take months longer than other dealers'), or forgets to place whole orders at a time, all of which I have experienced, and more than once. But what hurt most is the, let's call it: strategic misinformation that took place, and then her claiming to be innocent of this and working so hard for us to get our orders.
Oh geez this whole thread is making me super nervous! I have an order out with her as well but I’m American so I’ve never had an issue with site closure as it’s always been international for me. I’ve been scammed once before (not by her) so I’m just paranoid. I am very glad to have found Denver Doll and would definitely recommend them especially to my American friends. The ordering process there is smooth and fast and they are incredibly on top of things and responsive. Their in stock items ship within two days and they are super communicative throughout the whole preorder process. Of course there are some dolls you can’t get through them so I’m always looking for new reliable dealers
Yeah, I'm reading through this and nervous too. It's so tough because the expected wait times on dolls seem to generally be over the allowable dispute times on charges for credit cards and in PayPal? So it becomes a catch-22 on waiting for your order... time running up and you figuring out whether you really think they're going to deliver.... I wonder what to do.
