Warning Paging AntiqueLace - MEMBER MARKETPLACE BANNED

Jan 28, 2015

    1. I truly dislike coming to this point, and it disappoints me that I feel the need to page AntiqueLace over this transaction.

On 12/18/2014, AntiqueLace contacted me regarding my WTB post for a corset for a Delf girl. She sent some photos, and I liked the style and chose the brown one. The photos weren’t the best quality, so I asked about the color and she gave me information needed to make sure that it would work with the other parts of the outfit I had for my girl.

I paid $40 for corset and shipping on 12/23/14, and was excited because it would arrive in time for my local doll meet.

I received a few items that I had purchased after the corset, and contacted her asking if it had shipped. It finally shipped on 1/5/15 and I got it on 1/7/15.

I put it on my girl and immediately saw some things that concerned me. There was pulling at the bottom right of the corset, and it looked as if it was coming apart in two places. (The corset isn’t very tightly laced, either.) The top edging was also misaligned so that the under stitching was quite visible. I documented with photos and sent my concerns along to her on 1/8/15.

Photos (The first image is from her; the others are mine.)

She apologized and offered to replace the corset, stating that her machine must have taken stitches too wide. (If you look very carefully at the photo she sent me, you can see where it is pulling open at exactly the point I photographed.) She also offered to add boning down the front on the new corset and ship it Monday (which would have been the 12th.)

After being mobile and possessed of a phone that doesn’t like DoA, I got back to a PC and did reply to her on the 10th and said that boning would be great. I said that I could return the corset I had (as I was still under the belief that I would have the replacement in time for the meet.)

On the 14th, I hadn’t heard from her, and sent a ping. She replied that she’d been busy and unable to get the replacement out to me. I was disappointed that I wouldn’t have the fixed corset in time for the meet and said that I was going to add some trim or something to make the corset work for the meet.

On the 15th, she told me that I had taken too long to get back to her about the boning and ‘the window of time I to work on it was gone’ before I got back to her, which was why she hadn’t worked on a replacement. She said to go ahead and add the trim to make the corset work and that I would have my replacement soon.

(It never made it; I showed a friend the photos to discuss how best to trim it and hide the flaws and she was rather vocal in her opinion that it would take a lot of time and effort to fix the corset… which, three days out from the meet, I didn’t have. I had no appropriate trim in the right scale, no accessories that worked with the corset, and no time.)

That was the last I heard from her. She had indicated that her internet was acting up but a tech was to come out on that Friday, which would have been the 16th... and she's been on DoA since.

I sent her a PM on 1/26, asking if the replacement had shipped, and explaining that I was disappointed in the amount of money I had spent on the corset with the additional costs I would have to incur in order to fix the one I got. No reply, and no indication that she has read it. (Unless she has the email PMs function turned on.)

I sent the same text as I wrote in my PM via email to both emails associated with her Paypal account on 1/27, and have had no reply.

Ideally, I want a corset that I don't have to repair/trim/go to any more expense for it to look good. In short, I would prefer the replacement that she promised.
I will accept a refund of my $40, and will return the corset by shipping of my choosing if I am refunded.

I have made no modifications to the corset in my possession, as if I have to open a dispute with Paypal, I expect they will require I return the one that I have.

I truly hope that I don't have to resort to Paypal, as I'd rather this be handled by AntiqueLace herself as promised.

    2. AntiqueLace was last on the forum 24 Jan and is now being paged.

    3. Thank you, eleniel. I haven't heard from her yet, and will give her until 1pm Eastern on 1/30/15 to respond before I contact Paypal.

    4. Hi, I have also sent a PM, I have been in moving hell, and I apologize for the mess. It should have been sent sooner. You should have it in hand after the weekend, and I'll be happy to make a custom garment for you as soon as I have everything up and running at the new place. I've never had a problem with quality, so I'm very embarrassed, I can only say that the corsets were a new item and this was prototype, and I have now changed the way they are made so there are no more issues.

    5. I admit it has taken me some time to compose my reply, as I have a huge problem with being sold a prototype as if it were a finished corset. At no time was I told I was getting a prototype, and if I had been, I believe I would have passed on the transaction offered.

At this point, all I want is a finished corset, so please let me know when it has shipped and what the tracking number is. Thank you.

    6. It was only a prototype in the sense that these were the first ones I made of this corset style. I've made other corsets that were just fine, no problems. If I had made a custom one, it would have been the same, the first one I made. It was a finished corset.

    7. Please let me know when my replacement corset has been shipped and what the tracking number is.

    8. AntiqueLace has been in contact with me via PM and has given me a tracking number that needs clarification.
She says that she wants me to communicate with her via PM and not through the paging thread, which I am uncomfortable with, given the situation.

    9. Hello all. I'm not usually the type to pile on someone, but I've had a project that's been outstanding for a long time.

    10. AntiqueLace has sent me the corrected tracking number and I have advised she check the paging thread, gaiaswill.

    11. Update: AntiqueLace has contacted me saying she would refund "within the next couple of weeks". This would be satisfactory. Will post again upon receipt.

    12. Update:
I have my replacement corset, but as of right now, I am not satisfied. I have sent AntiqueLace a PM with photos.
I am at a total loss at this point.

    13. Update: Was given a tentative date for a refund but AntiqueLace missed it and apologized. No updates since.

    14. I'm still waiting for a photo of a test replacement of the corset.
We have determined the issues might be due to the stretchy nature of the fabric.

    15. Hello I am also having a problem with her and would like to page her and file a complaint I bought a pair of Iplehouse EID a Doll a Jeans that I haven't recieved and after emailing haven't heard from her?

    16. liwhitesa, was the purchase made on DOA or offsite?

    17. I have asked for a refund. The weekend has passed with no photo and I'm out of patience.
(And time. Anachrocon is Thursday, and that's the steampunk convention that I was booking the doll into with me for costume work.)

      I am extremely disappointed.

    18. AntiqueLace was last on the forum on 2/16/15.

    19. I went to Paypal to file a dispute on the transaction, just to have another means by which to communicate officially, and Paypal forced me to file a claim, saying that my "seller was unable to respond to disputes at this time."

Now, I'm not saying anything directly regarding AntiqueLace, but I've only seen that message one other time... when a seller closed their Paypal account in an effort to hide from a bunch of us.

I'm suspicious, and unfortunately, I am left in Paypal's hands.

    20. Yes it was made on the DOA marketplace she still has the listing for the Iplehouse EID womans light blue Jean listed in a post.

    21. Hello hobby whelmed "Yes" my purchase was made in the marketplace on DOA and she replied quick to get her payment but not to respond to shipping questions or update That's what so setting! I too am disappointed and would like a refund now!

    22. To date, my claim is still pending and I have heard nothing from AntiqueLace.

    23. This morning, Paypal found in my favor and refunded my $40 purchase.
I have not heard from AntiqueLace since 2/16/2015.

Given that I have my money back, I consider my part in this thread complete.
