Otakon 2017 - BJD Panel

    1. Hello! Just thought I'd pop on and let people who were coming to Otakon this year that I'll be having a BJD panel with my friend Kyira.

      It'll be in Panel Room 3 at 10 am on Friday (early start, whoo!). We'll go over some basics but it'll mostly be for veterans and dealing with selling/trading, the care and repair of your doll, and other such fun times (of course if you're new, please don't think that we're excluding you! We'd love to help you out if you have any questions). <3 We'll also have a raffle to give away fun things for yosd, msd, and sd! Hope to see yins there!

    2. I just saw the schedule and saw your panel on the list, @WingedRivers ! Awesome, I'm also doing a panel at Otakon, but it's catered very much for total beginners that have never touched or owned BJDs before. I'm so glad we're not overlapping in that sense, and now I'm hoping I can get in early enough to catch your panel on Friday. It is so early though, I wonder if I can make it! >_<

      My panel is actually a workshop, 'Build-a-BJD: A Hands-on Introduction to Ball-Joint-Dolls' on Saturday starting at 11:00 am. I think it's probably boring for anybody who already owns their own BJD, but I hope I can attract some new people into the hobby with it :) .

      So far, it seems like nobody's organized any BJD meeting place/time yet this year. I wonder if maybe we could try scheduling a little BJD meet after your panel or after my panel, or both haha... someone posted in the Otakon 2017 thread that they'd be going to the Lolita Garden with their dolls, and that sounds like a nice idea. I'd hope that, being the summer and a place for lolitas to meet with all their frilly layers, they'd have some shaded areas to sit as a group haha.

    3. @almyki oh! I read a bit of your google doc, that is super cool! A hands on panel, neat idea! <3 I hope you get some helpers and I hope you have a blast.

      A meet-up would be lovely but I'm not too sure when. I will likely be selling things in the Artist Alley and so won't be able to attend any meet-up. But best of luck with planning one with others!
