OT/General OT: your helpers? (Pets)

Dec 3, 2014

    1. ;) So who's your little motivation fuel when you put work down to chill?
I've got 4 female ratties on my side. Two Albinos and two Irish beige girls. I'd actually get more if I could help it @_@

(the lack of off topic chatter bugs me a little, but idk if I should revive older topics or not ^^; )

    2. I have two dogs and two cats, and I usually have one of my dogs at my feet when I'm out in the studio... and if I sit anywhere for too long, I end up with a cat on my lap - or if I'm hunched over far enough, on my shoulders.

Well, and two children but they're not allowed in the studio. They do like to sit on me while I'm working at my computer on my 3D stuff, but that's mainly my 5 year old asking if I'm working on the butt again and then giggling like it's the funniest thing he's ever said.

    3. I'm a cold hearted person who locks pets out of the room while working on art/sculpting/etc. Most importantly, I don't want my cat to breath in clay dust. But I also don't want any curious kitty to crawl over my BJD project, drink my clay water, knock over my clay water, etc. One time I left my clay water on my desk when I wasn't working and my cat knocked it over and got water all over my La doll BJD WIP >_< You can imagine what happened to the doll parts...

    4. I got 3 cats. They motivate heck out of me and always the hardest critics. They knock over sculpts and shatter them on the floor if they think I am not doing great job. Some head pieces they hide them so that I will be forced to sculpt better ones. I use wax so there are no harmful stuff toward kitties. I just gotta make sure they will not be near my torch lamp.
One of them caught on fire long time ago and I freaked out. She did not feel a thing, though. She thought I was being a dick, patting her so fast along with endless scream.
All of my sculpt contains car fur. It is one of the most important ingredients for me. I also eat cat fur as well. It is considered as fiber in my household.

Here are pics of ma kitties!!

    5. i have a small yellow eyed tom cat who watches over me as i work xD

i have to agree with the cat fur in everything there is no escape

    6. I have two dogs. I found a corner in my house where they do the least amount of stampeding, and that's where I work.

    7. Bless his heart he's practically one of us

@Switchum, your cats are adorable (assholes but adorable nonetheless)

Rats stay away from workdesk, but that doesn't stop the cheeky brats from sitting on the edge of the cage and sniffing questioningly, "human wtf are you doing"

    8. I have a cat and a puppy. Cat loves to drag small pieces in her waterbowl (not so good for paperclay dollparts) and puppy loves to eat the paperclay scraps that fell on the flor xD (the brand is not poisonous)

    9. You guys need to post pictures of them!!. I love to see all the friendly creatures of yours. Haha thanks Sleep of Reason, But ma kitties are nor a-holes. They are dicks:)

    10. I have two calico cats, one of which is a friggin ham(also fluffy to all fluff.), the other is camera shy. But both of them are old photos and on my cell, which is arguing with me.

    11. Right outside the door to my current workspace is my dog's bed, and I keep her out of it using a gate she can watch me through, so she likes to sit and watch me work. When I have my backyard shed space set up for working, I might find room in it to make a kind of internal doggydoor-accessible-kennelspace/doghouse with a bed and a plexiglass wall or something, so my dog can hang out and watch me without being around the materials I use.

    13. Two of my beasties came to keep me company while I was working late last night. My dog was getting scared of fireworks so I set up a chair next to my desk so she could sit beside me and stop trying to climb me every time she heard someone setting off early fireworks - she's just a little bit too big to be a lapdog and when she's scared, she sorta hugs me - head on my shoulder, paws on my chest, clinging to me. Her wee kitty buddy came to comfort her, too. It was nice, just quietly working until 2 AM with little fuzzies at my side.

The other dog was probably at my feet at the time but he isn't so much scared of fireworks as ANGRY at them.
