Jan 10, 2026

I found him NIB on Doll Peddler.

The clothing quality is amazing! I have never seen clothing made in such a way with so much detail and such precise stitching. I have two full set dolls that come close to it, but this work is just... I have no words. Everything was layed out with layers of tissue paper. The boots were well sealed and only a small crack on one of them. I had expected to have any leather type parts to be worn with age, but everything was pristine.

The doll himself! The sales pictures didn't show the facial hair, but authenticity card with his number on it does. I was a but surprised. I am not a fan of facial hair on dolls. But, I can take care of that...

A close up of the company face up, before I modify it...

Some of the facial hair taken off, I needed to clean it more, and wearing the full set, including the wig that came with him.

I switched the wig in this picture, It is a mohair wig by Dollmore. It still doesn't feel quite right.

The face is cleaned up! Wearing the full set, before I wrap it up to store it! I'll use it on special occasions.

Final picture. This is the character I had in mind. He is wearing a borrowed wig, but I just ordered him one like it. now he looks like the character Lance Knight (silly name, I know) That I intended to make.

I am very happy with him! I know it's crazy to get a limited full set doll and modify the face, change off the clothes, and make it look rather plain, but he looks like the character I had envisioned. I have no plans to sell any of my dolls once they come home so I like them to look how I wanted them to look rather then worry about messing up a full set.

    2. I love what you did with his face up! Big improvement. I prefer the new wig too. I think the fullset outfit looks very cool, but it's also nice to have a variety in wardrobe. He looks really cool in the final photo too!

I think it's fine to modify a limited fullset- I feel this hobby has a ton of different limited fullsets out there, from a bunch of different companies, so plenty of options if someone is looking for a pristine version.

    3. @Nimaine Thank you!!! The full set outfit it amazing, it's just not very everyday. My dolls tend to wear very basic clothes unless it's for a special occasion. I am very happy with him once the wig got changed and I cleaned the face up. I've modified fullset dolls before, but this was the first limited one I dug into. I agree with you, I am sure a lot of people keep their dolls pristine, if they were going to resale them. I just don't ever resale so it seems silly for me not to fix the doll up how I want it. I am looking forward to his new wig arriving. The final picture is actually my favourite one! :love

    4. A great rescue from Doll Peddler! He's got such a pretty face, I don't think I would have looked at him twice with the previous facial hair. The long hair he's borrowing really suits him too. Congrats on your beautiful new doll!

    5. @AlisonVonderland Haha, I really do feel as if I am rescuing dolls when I buy from Doll Peddler. They have so many older dolls still available that are in stock and were never bought. I was surprised when I found this one, but I am happy that I did! I am not a fan of facial hair on dolls, and the character was supposed to be younger then the beard made him look. I am glad that the beard came off easily without even messing up the rest of the faceup. Thank you!

    6. You are more learned than I about the possibility of the older p-leathers cracking. I bought some beautiful minty looking older shoes not too long ago that would have provided just the right amount of vintage for my dolls look, only to have them crumble upon fitting them on the doll. Alas, lesson learned. I can see what you mean about the stitching and details, and even gloves!! Impressively flawless removal of the beard! I'm kinda surprised as I would have wondered if over time the sealant would leave a discernably difference of color if removed -but apparently not! He looks great!! Congrats on the new family member!

    7. @Valdemagra I was really lucky with the boots that came with this outfit. I think because they had those silicon dioxide crystals packed with each boot, and the boots were wrapped separately. I wrapped them up carefully again to store them.

I had gotten another second hand full set doll last year, and the faux leather pants practically disintegrated when I changed the dolls clothes. The leather boots he was wearing were not in great shape, while they can be used they tend to flake. I am thinking I might scrape off the flaking leather bits, on this dolls boots and see what I can do to restore them. Sometimes that's all I can think to do when they seem beyond repair.

I was very surprised about the beard as well. It must have been between its own layer of sealant so only removing one layer just took the beard.

    8. I think you did great job on the faceup! It definitely softened his features a little more. I also really like the new wig on him. Congrats on the new doll!

    9. @MintyCherry Thank you! I like him so much more without all that stuff on his face. He got his new wig, and now I need to go take a lot of pictures of him!
