Lost/Damaged ~OMG! I am freaking Out!!! Lost Fed Ex Package from JAPAN

    1. Has anyone ever had a Fed Ex package go missing??? If so, did it show up at some point???? On April 7th my Fed Ex package with my Volks Cruise Reisner and a bunch of clothes left JAPAN for Florida . It arrived in Anchorage Alaska and cleared customs and was sent to Memphis, then Miami on the 9th....then it disappeared. No one has seen it since. It was slated to be delivered today but no updates since arriving at sorting facility. I have been calling Fed Ex all day and they say they are looking for it but don't know if it was left behind somewhere. None of the agents I spoke with are helpful. I am so sick to my stomach right now. Do they refund the full amount of the items if they are invoiced when sent???? I have never had this happen...I don't know what else to do. :(

Okay, don't panic, this does happen, usually a package gets left in an office or something--it's hard to remember that literally there are people crawling all over the system doing idiot things--so someone will typically notice it and they'll put it back 'into transit' and then it'll be updated like nothing happened. It has happened to me before and ultimately, fingers crossed/knock on wood, stuff always reappears.

      Keep on the FedEx people, and ask if you can speak to a supervisor tomorrow if they aren't able to be helpful; typically all these outfits have a more senior team and an investigations team, if you can get routed that way they can sometimes get things done a little more thoroughly. :) Definitely good luck!

    3. This happened with a pair of shoes I ordered once. They arrived close to my city, but the tracking didn't update for 3 days. I called and no one could help me. Then on what would have been the 4th day since arriving, the tracking updated and they arrived a little later. I just assumed that it was sitting in a corner, forgotten, until someone noticed it and moved it where it should be.

      I'd say give it a couple days. Best of luck!
       
    4. Thank you guys! I was on the phone all day yesterday and got different answers from every agent I spoke with. Last scan according to the Fed Ex site was on the 9th, but Fed Ex said last scan was on the 10th. Anyway, as of today 4/12 11:06 am....nothing. I will keep hounding them today. This is so frustrating.
       
    5. I had a package from China end up in New Mexico -- but I live in Oregon. They eventually sorted out the mistake and the doll was rerouted back to me, it just took a couple days longer. Sometimes, too, the packages simply don't get scanned. Another example: I ordered a doll a couple weeks ago and the tracking never updated, and then it just showed up at my house. Hang in there! I'll bet your items will show up soon. Good luck! :)

    8. I had something similar happen and it turned out that the package had been left on the truck instead of being retained at the depot after scanning. It wasn't a big deal though, it showed up at the depot again in 2-3 days and was delivered the next day. Fingers crossed that it works out and you get your Reisner home safe and sound!
       
    9. Thank you Mancuso and irezumifan! Still nothing. This last agent I spoke to like an hour ago asked me the contents of the package? Now I wonder why they have to know that...it's not like they can find it by knowing whats inside.? Unbelievable!!!
       
    10. That's in case there's been damage and it's in a location for damaged packaging, if it comes down to it, tell them it's a doll, you don't have to specify expense or anysuch. She's just trying to be thorough, but also see if it got caught up for anything. Ah, FedEx, how I hate you...my sister had mailed herself a parisol from an anime convention in Canada, to the US, and FedEx had held it up, not customs, because they were convinced there were electronics in it. Seriously. So finally my sis got a senior supervisor on the phone, who had the box in her office, and said 'it's essentially an umbrella, have you ever seen an umbrella with electronic components in it?' They sent it out that hour...

      But if it was something like that, it would show up on tracking for sure as it had with her, they've just looked in the usual places, so they're starting to consider the unusual places.

    11. When she told me it could have been left and on the ramp at the airport I nearly died!!!! I understand that its noraml protocal to ask what is in the box I just didnt want to tell her it was a doll in case someone got curious....I told her stuff for my hobby, LOL! Gosh heidi, I really hope I get some news today. Thanks for the comforting words.

I've been there, I think all of us have angsted over shipping at some point--like me finding out last month that USPS address forwarding wouldn't work for my EMS packages because they didn't go to my 'regular' post office, argh! I've literally, this past month, spent two whole days phoning post offices all over the US to try and get doll packages rerouted to here instead of sent back to doll companies (I mean seriously, Aidolls is trouble enough without a package being sent back), I've faxed people, it's been absolutely nuts, so my heart goes out to you (plus we're in multiple WRs together, LOLOL!). I'm convinced your package will show up, but time crawls when you're in the middle of this situation. :sweat At the ramp at the airport makes me stomach flip-flop...but I know people must be actively looking at it, you really can light a fire under the Fed Ex folks if you keep it up, ask my sister, LOLOL! :)

    13. Oh God, I've been there too! :( I see you've made some progress. Hang in there. He'll show up. :aheartbea There's a very good chance that someone forgot to load the box onto a truck somewhere along the way. Unfortunately it seems to have been happening quite often lately. Stay on top of them 'till they can give you some news!
       
    14. You should definitely give an accurate description of what's in the box. The reason they ask is that sometimes the shipping labels get torn off the packages by the machinery, or by rubbing up against other packages. If they have packages without labels, they may be able to determine if one of them is yours by looking inside the box. They aren't going to look just out of curiosity. It is definitely in your best interest to let them know, and maybe even provide photos of the doll from the website/seller, so they know exactly what they're looking for.
       
    15. Thank you so much everyone....still nothing. greeniebone I actually did end up having to say there was a doll in there because they just kept asking. I didn't want to mention it in case if they had to look in the box, I didn't want someone with greasy dirty hands to take the doll out just because they were curious...I know its crazy. I'm all crazy with worry now. I did let the JP end of the shipping know already as well. I pray it turns up.

    17. Okay, well try not to fret. I had this happen about 3 years ago with my Ducan and I panicked (hysterically and embaressingly on the forum eep!). I was told by Parcelforce that it had been 'lost', but about a week or so later, he magically turned up. I am sure he just ended up in the wrong depot or they forgot to scan him or something.

      I am sure he'll arrive; especially if customs put a charge on him- they'll want that money heh. It is possible he's being opened by customs for some reason and it just hasn't been recorded.

      It can take a long time (well here in the UK anyway) for them to clear customs, and it can seem as if the boxes have just disappeared off the scanner. Just try to not think about it for the next few days as phoning Fedex seems to be making you worry more than actually helping.

      So back OT, hee, 'real life angel', I don't think it will be any customs fee for the US, but yes, I feel that someone will open a truck and see a package, or go in an office and there it'll be, and they'll just forward it on like nothing's happened. :) Good thoughts to you!

    20. Oh, Poor Carmen!

      Just keep on them every day, something is bond to break. ( And by that I mean, you will get your lovely doll intact, safe and sound very soon)

      This sort of thing happened with my first doll I ever ordered, but he eventually came! Just be strong and keep your head high.

      Edit, lol, my first doll was my Elf Ducan BTW, so its kind of funny Absynthe that your's had the same problem.

    23. This might be of some help, have you tried calling any sorting centers?

      If you could post what your tracking number is telling you we could hunt down the sorting center that might be able to help. I've done it and got one of my dolls that were stuck moving again.

I dont think they lost him either I think somewhere at the sorting center he got pushed aside and didn't make a truck. but keep on them. keep on bugging them ask for a supervisor if you have to tell them its an expensive package that you have insurance on. and yes got forbid if hes lost and you have full value insurance on him they will have to refund you. but here is to hoping that is not the case.. they can locate his last stop and go from there in finding out where he is. Trust me shipping companies dont want to refund insurance they will do what they have to to locate him.. Best of luck and please keep at them if you dont like a response from one of their agents go higher up the chain till you get some answers..

      THEY FOUND THE BOX!!!!!!! :sumomo: He will be delivered on Monday since Fed Ex is closed Sundays. I had a message on my home phone this morning!!!! I tried calling back to get details but I guess that office is closed. I AM SO HAPPY!!!! Thanks for everyones well wishes!!! I will do a box opening when he gets here on Monday!!!!!!:D

    32. i do hope that your little one is OK and now with you, its such an awful thing to have happen and it happens all too often. as to regards of saying what was in the package it may have been to identify it but without grubbying it up. and if someone has to open it (though more often than not it is scanned to check whats inside) they are very careful and will look after whats inside as they can tell that its new and a special item especially if you tell them so. quite often with special items they will wear gloves and try to touch as little as possible, just to make sure its ok and then reseal it nicely. very rarely they will have more issues and with packages from abroad quite often dolls are checked to make sure they havent got drugs being smuggled inside of them as it is a common way of smuggling cocaine and heroin which is a shame and they have to check, plus to make sure your resin isnt toxic, but they can do it all without damaging the doll and you can fine them massive amounts if they do as you are putting it in their care to get it to you in a proper fashion. so dont worry too much your little one will arrive and hopefully completely safe and well. just make sure to give them a hug for their poor journey, they wont have enjoyed it much....

      At least my dolly came home in perfect condition..it was a very hard three weeks!
