    1. Hi, I'm new here and rather new to the world of BJD's. I am also an older doll collector. LOL Older as in age and older as in antique and vintage dolls. Bjd's kind of round things out so to speak.
      I am so fascinated by BJD dolls, especially their articulation, their variety and their beauty.
      I have just 2 at the moment. Both Iplehouse dolls. But there is definitely a Mask Cat doll in my future. The just speak to me.
      I usually hang out with other BJD friends at the WNY meet up at the Kenmore Library once a month. An amazing group of doll collectors.

    3. Welcome! I've been branching out the other direction, from BJDs to vintage composition dolls! So far my fave is a Madame Alexander "wendy ann" mold Alice in Wonderland from around 1938. She belonged to my grandmother and thanks to BJD background I'm able to tidy her up at an amateur level and get her into a new wig and some new stringing. It's fun to think my Grandma played with jointed and strung dolls, and now so do I!
      You'll find a lot of the knowledge overlaps, I think.

    4. Hi there! @Silversewist . I am a fellow older doll collector and collector of other OT types of dolls. I did and do collect antique dolls, fashion dolls, vintage dolls and the occassional Barbie. Welcome to BJD land. I have been on this side of the hobby since 2004 and think you will find it very welcoming.

    5. Aww, I love the look of antique and maskcat dolls as well! If you get one, you should make a profile here so I can see her :)) Having a group of IRL doll friends sounds lovely, but I hope you enjoy posting online here too!
