Ohio Roll Call!!!

I'm from Ohio! I live north of Cincinnati.

 

Hello from a neighbor in Cleveland!

There actually is a good and active community of Ohio collectors! We have several meets and mini-meets each year. Holiday time is no exception! I'll make sure that someone puts up a notice about our Christmas meet in case you are interested- it will be December 10th in Akron this year. So far we have had 15-25 collectors at each of the meets I have been to, but I'm still fairly new and stick to the Northeast meets mainly. There is also a good group of BJD enthusiasts in the Columbus area too who I am still (anxiously!) wanting to meet someday!

 

I do, but I always end up forgetting about the meets with all of the other things going on.
Plus my friend I usually go with is afraid of dolls

I will be attending Ohayocon this year as well. I want to let you know about the Ohio ABJD collectors group on Facebook if you haven't already seen it. I am running a meetup this Sunday (December 11th) in Columbus if you would like to attend!

 

Just poking in here, better late than never, right? I'm in between Akron and Youngstown at the moment, I usually meet up with the Cleveland people n_n

 

I've been waiting to post here because I was unsure about my plans for next year.

I just received news this weekend which makes me pretty sure I'll be moving back home to Cincinnati for school for 8ish years!

I'm really happy to see that there's a couple Cincinnatians here on this forum!

 

Haha I stayed in Cleveland for 5 years before I'm here in CT.
I miss the midwest so much.

 

I'm from the greater Dayton area! Though really, I'm sort of midway between Dayton and Columbus. I tend to show up more frequently at Columbus meets for some reason.

Figured I'd chime in on this thread as well, since I'm new to the hobby and it's cool to see how many people live in the same state/area! I'm from Northeast Ohio, specifically the Cleveland area.

I moved to Cincinnati from Brunswick. Before that, I lived in The Akron area. Hudson, Stow, Cuyahoga Falls.

Any Ohioans still here? I'm in an east CLE suburb - 20 minutes from Akron or CLE.

Howdy! Ravenna isn't far - but Cincy is a trip! Are there any doll conventions in Ohio? Have you ever been to one?

 

No doll conventions in the state per se, not BJD-centric anyway, but general doll shows in Cleveland and Columbus are often attended by local BJD people. The only doll convention I’ve been to was Dollism Plus in NY back in 2014. We have an Ohio ABJD Collectors Facebook group that’s still fairly active. I’m sure when life gets back to normal there will be plenty of meetups again, we all miss it!

 

There is a doll group that meets down in Covington KY, called The Triple Crown Doll Club. Btw, if we’re thinking of creating a doll convention, please let me know! I would love to help found one in this area!

Okay, I went searching for doll conventions in Ohio, and now I'm cranky.

I just learned that the I-X center is closed - permanently.

Also, no offense to Xenians, but how the H-E-double hockey sticks is Xenia, OH where all the doll stuff happens?!?

Ohio BJD collectors - we gotta do something. CLE and C-bus are just hanging in the wind, here.

Hit me up if you want to try to start something.

By the way, if any of you attend any anime cons, usually a bunch of BJD peeps will meet up for a couple hours to trade, chat and take photos.
