oh gods please help! luts has screwed everything up!!!!

Aug 24, 2007

    1. luts currently has over a thousand dollars of my money tied up, but i have no order details. i have no transaction record, i have no NOTHING. they rejected my card initially, so i called my bank to make sure they would authorize the large deduction that ordering dolls creates, and now i have multiple confirmation emails from their payment company that says my order has been processed, but i have no order #, no details, no transaction information, no NOTHING, and they have TWICE my money.

i've emailed them, but i really can't wait around to get this fixed, and i'm just not sure what else to do. luts is notoriously slow to respond to anything, and this is a really big damn deal. does anyone have any suggestions? i've already called my bank to get them to freeze everything so i don't get charged for a $600 order three times, but they said they CAN'T, since there are receipts and order confirmations and...something? i don't even know what's going ON, but i think luts has really just RUINED the fun of EVERYTHING for me. D:

any help is much appreciated--i'm seriously screwed if this doesn't get fixed ASAP.

    2. Oh man, that's tough, but I'm sure things will be okay soon!

Try posting a message on their BBS, I've heard that's the best way to get in touch with them. It sounds like they have so many more problems now that they can't accept Paypal...!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
      Raven

    3. thanks. i did post to the BBS, and hopefully someone will get back to me soon; i'm just really mad and bummed and hoping things work themselves out before i have to pay rent. because if not, i'm completely buggered.

    4. Oh, man, that's horrible. I hope you get a response soon. :( Good luck!

    5. LUTS is MUCH better at answering their emails. They should get back to you sooner than they ever would on the Q&A.

Don't worry. They will fix everything. :)

    6. Hi

ive rung Luts before and they have a lovely woman there who speaks good english, may be worth the few $$ call.

They were really helpful to me.

    7. thanks for the encouraging words, guys... mystical-maz, i might just give them a call if nothing has been addressed by the time i get off work tonight, thank you for the suggestion. erm...is there a menu or something where i can ask for an english-speaking person? if they were Japanese i might be able to get by with a few fumbled phrases, but i don't speak a lick of Korean... O_o

    8. I think that's a LOT of people's problems!! Korean isn't easy to learn here in the states (or at least in my experience). However, if Korea is anything like most other Countries, If you just say, 'English please?' they'll probably understand and get you someone who speaks English =)

    9. yeah, i know right? Japanese and Chinese are relatively easy to find at most colleges, but Korean is hard to track down.

    10. wooww.....that's really frustrating!
I hope LUTS accepts PayPal soon... >.<'

Anyway, if you receive any updates from LUTS, don't hesitate to share it with us...

    11. That sucks =[. Sorry about that, I just hope they'll start accepting paypal/

    12. Doctor F, Miakyou;

LUTS used to accept paypal, but due to problems with it... They stopped. A LOT of BJD companies in Korea have stopped accepting paypal due to the same thing.

    13. Normally on the message boards, it takes Luts a day or night (depending where in the world you are) to respond. If they're incredibly backed up with questions, sometimes it takes two.

Unfortunately, in my experience, over the weekends, they usually don't respond at all. I don't know if it's because they don't work over the weekends, or just don't respond to email or what, but check on Monday, and by the end of the day you should have a response.

      Wow, I really hope things work out for you. I wish Luts hadn't stopped taking Paypal. So many beautiful dolls I still wanted to buy, but now I'm afraid to try anymore. ^^;

Although, when I ordered my first doll there, I paid through my credit card. I had to send them a scan of both the front and the back of the card, and also my drivers license. After that they accepted, and I was able to order with no problems. That was over a year ago though. O_o

    14. What about their eBay store? That still takes PayPal (I think). Has anyone had any problems ordering that way?

    15. I had heard that you can still use paypal with their ebay store but its a real pain trying to get items in stock. When I tried to get a MNF El from them last year, it took them 2 months to put up an auction for it. By then they announced the Juri 06 head and the auction ended to early to qualify so it was all a bit of a mess. Someone recommended Liria to me a while ago http://fairyland.it.to/ I think she still takes paypal.
Anyway, good luck getting the order sorted tokage :)

    16. I think calling would be a very good idea at this point.

      Carolyn

    17. At least Luts is for the most part caught up on the Q&A. They had been behind five pages for a while. *_*

I hope you get things staightend out soon!

    18. They've been swamped, but the emails were getting answered quickly. They'll fix it.

    19. Well personally if you have a slow computer you could have added it more then once without realizing and not meaning to. If this is the case I doubt theres much you can do if you finished processing it. I wouldnt jump to conclusions and blame luts for this. I really doubt they could make your order charge over on purpose. I would relax a bit more and find out whats really going on.

    20. No, it's the browser one uses...it should work with all, but it doesn't and even on the ones it does work, it can screw up.

    21. I don't think they're charging her "on purpose", but a lot of people have complained about Luts double or even triple charging. It happens, and it's Luts' fault. Sad but true.

    22. It could be but it could be the persons fault you dont know if they accidently made a mistake or not, I just ordered from luts and I was not charged more then i ordered.

    23. Just because it hasn't happened to you, doesn't mean it couldn't happen to her. I like to assume that most of us are smart enough to not hit the "Pay" button twice, no matter how slow the internet connection might be. Lots of people have been having the same problem with Luts charging more than once, and I doubt if they all made the same mistake. I think it's much more likely that Luts has dropped the metaphorical ball.

    24. You can think what you want but i doubt all those people had luts mess up some people could have messed up to.

    25. Well, I guess you're welcome to think what you want too. But a short search (try just "Luts" and "problems") will show that this is not an isolated incident. But whatever. I'm not getting into a debate with a newbie.

      /ends conversation

    26. Because she joined ONE MONTH after you makes her a newbie? I'd watch it with the mudslinging... This isn't something to get fussy over.

I think it's pretty obvious that any of the incidents vary from person to person. It cannot be one or the other's fault - but a combination of both. But why Luts would purposely overcharge and then politely fix all of those "mistakes" is beyond my comprehension. That's something I don't personally believe.

    27. Thanks maudlin, some people just cant understand others points of view. And the person calling me a newbie only proves how immature they act.

    28. You're right, maudlincycle. My comment was out of line. She was already on my nerves for something else, and I glanced at her post count and avatar and assumed that she was new to the hobby. That was my mistake, and I apologize. It was bad form.

However, my point still stands. This isn't the first time I've seen someone start a thread or make a post about payment problems/double charges/mixups with Luts. I never said that none of these problems are due to customer error, but it seems to happen frequently enough to imply that Luts' payment method has some problems. And with the recent decision to remove PayPal from their payment options, a lot more people are having problems with CC orders.

But of course, none of us are representatives for Luts, so the problems are between them and the customers involved. MidnightDreamer's posts used the phrase "on purpose" several times, which I took to mean as Luts actively charging people more than once. Like they're sitting there laughing and rubbing their hands together as they charge you twice. It seems more like some type of computer error, a problem with their payment system, rather than them overcharging "on purpose". I was just trying to clarify that, and it somehow got out of hand. That's all.

    29. I hate to get into the middle of this, but... This isn't a thread for arguing with one another, it's to try and help solve Tokage's problem.

    30. I know that tvorce but I dont know who that person even is its not my fault there all mad at me I only made a point and they started at me.

    31. Okay what I want to know is if luts charged you so much how could you have paid all that money? Like when it told you how much the total was why didnt you just not pay and like re go to the site and try to rebuy?

    32. Guys, this is a thread about a particular problem with Luts. Please do not get into personal arguments, as they have no place in the thread and further squabbling will be deleted. Thank you!

    33. Junkets, please see post #28. Argument over.

Back OT, I think that mystical-maz has the best suggestion. If you can find a phone number, it would probably be best to contact them directly, especially since your rent money is hanging in the balance. *_* Best of luck sorting this out.

    34. StonerKitty, it seemed a reminder was in order. Do not bring it up again.

    35. Tokage, I would call the number in korea at this point to speak to someone as others have mentioned on this thread.

I don't know what your bank account balance is but if you are getting anything bouncing (or anticipating them to) as a result of this see if the companies involved will waive the bounce fees due to the mistake, explaining what happened and that it will be refunded will let them know you didn't intend for anything bad etc.

Most likely what they did was give up on the first payment request to take your $600 and processed a separate second transaction in order to take the funds when it didn't go through initially. In transactions you will probably see two separate transactions rather than a lump sum of $1200 I'm guessing, right? If so talk to another person at that bank and tell them your order was only for one transaction, and that you have a screenshot of what you were ordering and you want the $ transaction reversed on the second withdrawal that was processed.

If its a lump sum that request won't work unfortunately as its then a dispute over the requested dollar amount and you'll need to take it up w/ luts which will take more time. I'm certain they will reverse the transaction to give you your money back, but man...not cool to go through :(

    36. As it said in the first post, her card was declined. My guess is, is that Luts may have noticed someone trying to place an order, seen the problem, and without really checking into it much, fixed it to where it would go through. I've had it happen to me when ordering cd's and such. And with credit cards/debit cards now-a-days its not impossible to overwithdraw. You're left with a really nasty overwithdraw charge and bad credit.

But like most people have been saying, it's best to keep trying to make contact. Seeing as how I'm doing a split with you, I want this cleared up a.s.a.p. as well. I'd hate to see things delayed any longer for you and your sister.

    37. welll... I say.... write in the forums.. they answer really quickly and explain nicelie and they will help ^__^

    38. Egads what a terrible thing to go through!! I'd be in a panic myself. I hope everything turns out okay! Best of luck!

    39. Luts does make mistakes, but if you can get through to them, they should fix it. I was missing something in my box and they shipped it to me EMS for no extra charge. I did have to e-mail them through the webpage, as they didn't get the message when I e-mailed them regularly. You know, use the 'Contact Us' link on the webpage.

    40. Sorry to say that problems happened to certain people only.
Hope you get it resolve soon as this is how i got it solved.

i also got charged 3 times. But one order showed up which was paid for, but Luts did charged twice. Since my bank has a pretty good recovery department, i got the second charged back into my account in less than 4 days, but they did sent paper work. The third was on a different credit card that has no order. I also contacted Luts one message at a time. In the end, all they say to me is they did not do such things, (i did told them about their cc system no secure, but seems language barrier was a big part). They asked me to contact my bank and cc and let them know what happens....To be honest, i was not happy. The third payment was not returned into my account until 45 days later. ..... under my claim of internet fraud.

As to the member who asked how one pay for this. if it's your bank, you will get a good amount on overdraft. If it's on your cc, you get a really big fee (which includes many fees in one), depending on your company and policy.

Hope you will get it resolve soon, as Luts is more up to date now than a month ago.

      X.

    41. wow, that really sucks. im glad i read this. i've seen so many complaints about the luts site, im starting to have second thoughts about ordering from them. O:
i really hope they get in touch with you soon, and that everything works out alright. ^^
      good luck to you,
      hachiko

    42. O_o wtf double post. sorry guys.

    43. argh, the server burped and just ate my whole farking reply! >:[

the problem was that i kept getting rejection pop-ups when i entered my CC info. i called my bank and made sure they were aware this was an authorized transaction, went back and tried again...more failure pop-ups... and then i got multiple confirmation emails saying my payment had been processed. i proceeded to flip out thinking my account would be overdrawn, and i wrote up on the BBS and emailed luts to try and get things fixed before i overdrew. they wrote me back in record time and i think we're all on the same page now.

long story short, i think i got it fixed, but i wish that if their system was going to actually confirm a credit card payment, it TOLD me so before i continued trying fifteen times because i thought perhaps i'd entered something wrong.

Aiowen, i'll make sure to keep you updated as to when stuff is confirmed and ships and so on. thanks again for the words of encouragement, everyone! i'll keep this thread updated til my shipment arrives, if you like.

    44. so after it rejected your card u kept trying OO?

    45. yes, because i thought i might have entered something incorrectly. maybe i transposed a number or input the expiration date with the wrong format. there was no reason for the card to be rejected, so i assumed it was my own typographical error that the payment was rejected.

    46. oh i c well at least u have it figured out, if you order from luts again though maybe try not to redo it and instead email them?

    47. yeah, next time i won't believe the pop-up when it tells me the authorization failed. O_o that was what really threw me off was that the website itself said they couldn't authorize it, but then i got multiple emails from their payment company telling me my payment had been processed. i was all kinds of confused and really freaked out. they should really fix that pop-up thing so that it doesn't give incorrect information.

    48. well least now you know why popup blocker was invented :X

    49. well, blockers really shouldn't block that type of pop-up; the informative ones are useful when they work correctly. this one just seems to be off-kilter. they need to either shut the damn thing off, or make sure it's not giving false information, because it's a useful tool if used properly.

    50. I hope you get things right. I'd never tought that a big company like Luts may do something like that...

    51. the english speaking girl answered the phone, so should be ok and if not im sure as soon as they realise they will pass it to her ^_^

    52. oh man, that's horrible.. I had similar thing, I tried paying by CC multiply times, always getting failures, then bank blocked my CC and said that company can charge me for all those tries..... I was so scared.. but I guess I had luck, since Luts didnt charge me..
      I hope you will get it solved, good luck! call them and keep us updated ; ;

    53. I used Paypal's virtual card when I ordered, and it went through fine. What browser were you using? Sometimes it can be the browser too.

    54. are you sure the money was actually deduced from your account? because I know when you try to charge something and it doesn't fully go through it LOOKS like the money was charged but it really just goes into hold for a few days before it's put back in the account.

was it a visa? I'm curious because I've heard luts has been having problems with visas.. which makes me nervous considering they don't accept paypal anymore and both my cards are visas e_e..

also, you might want to use a credit card when ordering expensive things online that way you can always cancel the transaction by calling the credit card company. sorry for your stress I hope everything goes okay ;o

    55. tokage
O_o....how very stressful......(I've approved the luts site on my
pop-up blocker, ^^; I do that with the sites I have to use my
      credit card on.....)
I'm happy that it seems to be getting solved ^^

      eri
I've got visa too, and it's worked the three times I've ordered with it
from eluts...though, I got 'authorization failed' when I tried to use my
      banks eCard......

    56. My friend did an order for me for clothes...and they arrived earlier than expected...they are usually very reliable...hang in there ok? =)

    57. i've ordered from them before too and had no trouble; i was just seriously flipping out because i suddenly had over $1000 in holding on my account and i have to pay rent in a few days. @_@ i have no intention of not ordering from luts again, i was just frazzled and...frankly alarmed...by what had happened.

    58. I had the same exact thing happen to me and they got it sorted out in a day or two. I shot them an e-mail and posted on their message board and they did respond very quickly.
Hopefully it'll all get sorted out.

    59. yup, the order has been processed now and it looks like everything is in order. i'll update again once it ships and then when i receive, but i think it is, as they say, all good now. ^_^
