Finally got Skelfthyrnir, my IOS-Resinsoul hybrid, all painted up and sealed. Next step: figuring out some loincloths and capes for him. Have vague ideas for different ones based around the seasons, as a friend of mine sent me a wonderful miniature chest full of leather, fur, and fabric for him. closeup by Cryptic Cryptid, on Flickr Eye by Cryptic Cryptid, on Flickr Posed by Cryptic Cryptid, on Flickr Handsome by Cryptic Cryptid, on Flickr
Oh, he's so creepy-cool! And you've done such a great job with the painting, the body hits that perfect sweet spot between realism and style - it looks like it must have taken forever!
Looking at the dates on my photos, I worked on him on and off from February 3rd to today. So really not that long-usually it was little bursts of painting and then waiting for things to dry. The worst part was painting his arms and legs, because my airbrush decided it just wasn't going to cooperate, so I had to coat those by hand. The fur texture is basically daubing on little dashes of paint and then trying to soften it up with using a drybrush with more paint that usual.
