~Odd measurements!~ The doll sized game!

Those more health conscious amongst soda drinkers may find themselves disappointed that a Lati Red Line Aida is just slightly shorter than a three stack of Jones soda bottles . . .

But don't take this SD for granted. Those gamers amongst us may find themselves delighted that Vincent is exactly the same height as a two stack of next-gen gaming consoles (PS3 60 gb, Xbox360 Elite).

Well, my stacked things aren't that original or funny, but they were easy to grab. xD
Wander is a Soom IO Windwalker and is not that thrilled to be sized against random objects. (these also aren't the most flattering pictures...lol)

Wander is exactly as tall as two 5 and two 3 pound weights. xD


He's only about 3 and 1/2 dvd cases tall though...(the bottom game is were he got his name from! )


And he's just under 9 nail polish bottles tall. ^^; Though I suppose it depends on the bottle.


And amazingly my cat came over and laid down for a comparison too! :O Wander is taller....longer? xD

Maddi (Dollzone Xi-Aleister) is approximately one Zoids Berserk Fury, one Spider-man, one Wing Gundam, and one jumpdrive with a decapitated Cloud Strife head tall, but only when the Wing Gundam raises its gun.

(I didn't throw the jumpdrive in to be random, I swear. I had to use it to balance the Gundam. XD)

 

Ealasaid is ten Maxis game boxes, three DVD box sets and four regular DVDs tall. Not the most exciting or odd objects I have to admit. They were the easiest to get hold of in my room.

Length-wise, Maddi is as tall/long as a larger-than-average Bearded Dragon.

However...

He is clearly much taller than a stack of four.

Atsushi (DIM Minimee) is not as tall as 10 frozen waffles on a saucer. XD



...he fell over not too long after I took the picture...I don't think he appreciated being measured by waffles. XD; It's going to take a lot of waffles, and probably twice as many pancakes, to make a full 1/3 size doll. XD

Okay, I got a little carried away, but here are a bunch of items compared to my DOC Too, Roxas.

First off we have a stack of 5 DS game cases, but it's only 3 DS game cases high. [I needed extra to make it stand on it's own. xD]


Then after I moved those one of my kittens [Bono] decided to lay on the tray, so I decided to take a picture to compare their heights.


3 Victoria Secret dogs. Roxas is a little taller than them. [I had to put him behind them because Bono was still on the tray. After he left Roxas had a bit of a tumble, but the dogs caught him. :3]


Roxas is the same height as two sake bottles.


Roxas is also the same height as three of my deodorant bottles. [And for the curious; yes I am a girl, I just use men's deodorant for no real reason. xD]


Roxas is shorter than two Pikachus.


My other cat [Chii] came in so I snapped a quick shot of her. While she's standing, and this taller than Bono, my cats are still no match for Roxas.


Roxas is also taller than a PS3...
Unless you put a doll-sized Wii and a doll-sized PS2 on top of that PS3. Then they're pretty much the same height.


And because I thought it was kind of fitting;

Roxas is taller than a book about BJDs. ;D



tl;dr - my doll Roxas only seems tall when not next to all my SDs.

Manufacturers vary. I tried to stack the brass, and failed miserably, so I cheated and had her lay down for the measurement, as you can see below.

Don't have many posts here yet because I unfortunately don't own a BJD yet.

I have a request for all you lovely people though.

I tried using the search button to find the answer to my question, but was unable to. So if anyone knows of a thread that answers it, could you kindly post it here? If not, then here's my question...

I've seen SD sized dolls up close in a ton of pictures. And in lots of positions wearing lots of different clothes, and having tons of different faces and whatnot. But never compared to anything 'human' sized.

I know that 1/3 dolls are big... but exactly how big are they really? I know it's anywhere from 57 to 60 or so centimeters. I try to fathom this but it just blows my mind.

So, could anyone kindly post pictures of their dolls in some sort way that would compare them to ordinary items you'd find humans using? Like a gallon of milk or a couch or something. If people have pictures actually holding their dolls, and don't mind posting their picture on the internet that would be awesome!

Also, if anyone has a female DollGa L body dollie that would really help since I ordered DollGa's Annie.
