Arcadie Arcadie in red and gold Customization teaser Tubes and strings Posing Photos by Kirane HK's torso The beginning, doesn't look really good for now ^^; -------- As this thread as been splitted you might see photos of my other projects. If you want to see more go to their own threads : Mew and Tew Nohema Ningyo Arcadie
Your dolls are so gorgeous! its a pity about the whole French Statute about selling and things. Your dolls have such healthy figures! and real chests! I hope all goes well with your projects, youre so quick with them. ^^
Well, as I'm still waiting for my Ladoll clay I can't start my two tiny androids... Annoying, but well .... And a bonus photo of HK's torso .... the greyish marks will be the mechanical parts he will have. I need to wait for my clay now ....
That looks like a great andoid design! whats it made of? is that your core? Its nice to see you moving along with the empress
OH! If there's one think I love about your dolls, it's how healthy they look! Your Empress look really steady on her feet- even if she may not be the steadiest doll out there, she definitely looks the part! Maybe it's that lovely figure. :3 I wonder if it's those legs.... they just look so solid and stable. Which is good! The busty, skinny girls made by companies haven't ever been of my taste, anyways- the Empress, clearly, is something above and beyond that old cliche! Bravo on the knees, especially- they're cool. I like the android design, too... He has an awesome chest. In fact, that look, it takes me back... I mean, I love androids and robots! I can't wait to see what happens with the two of them when that clay comes in!
Treelore, le core is made out of styrofoam and wood clay. Brightsuzuka, thanks, I tried to make a curvy doll, not like the one you can find at Luts or Dollmore, a more mature one with real breast and big tights. I think it worked out not too bad.
Ooooh, what lovely shoulders she has...! Hmmm, but the elbow on the (more) finished arm looks just a little bit awkward. It looks more like some sort of hinge than an elbow. I'm sorry, but, that's how it looks to me. However, since she is still in progress, I'm sure the issue is temporary.
Yeah, the elbows look kinda odd, but well, it will be better after a new sanding. With hands it looks less ugly I guess. Next to another SD dolls she looks really big and different, I already know that Big headed girl that is not so easy to put a wig on.... (( above all when the head cap is not on her head 'cause it needs to be fixed and that to put the wig on you need to stuff her head with paper towels )) And two bonus pics of Mew, 'cause I love her to piece X3
Sooo... new update.... After I almost broke her head in a dremel accident (mouth and eyelids broken ) I had to redo her face, she changed quite a lot, now she is not an Emperesse anymore. I don't know her name yet. Photo of the androids in process
Nylh - I think her Royalty blood still comes through on the new face. I would still consider her an Empress
Thanks, I think she is too sweet looking to be the Emperess, a pretty cold character. Sooo... what's new ? Working on my second SD doll ^^ I'll stop the android until the mid february so I started back an old project. What I have so far is head, torso, hands and legs. I'm quite happy having managed to make the hands not so badly ^^
Well, for now this doll is nameless, I don't really know how to call him. I think I'll try to find a name when the doll will be almost done like I used to do for the other ones. The Emperess has a new name, she is called Nohema.
Nohema's so beautiful! And Mew looks SO adorable next to her! I also really love how the androids are coming up. And the new SD doll... waaah! So many beautiful dolls! You must really enjoy doll-making, although, I guess it's even more fun when the dolls are all so unique and cool, too! By the way, Nohema's hair, as it is now, is pretty neat and unique. :3 Also, did Mew get a new wig? :O
Well, I'm pretty addicted to sculpting. I've always needed to keep my hands busy, sewing or drawing. With sculpting I can express my thoughts and I love this challenge, managing to create a good looking doll. Mew and Nohema both got new wigs, now I just need to find clothes for Mew. I wonder if she would fit in Yo SD clother or maybe barbie tops as her bust is really small... ----------- Still working on him My nameless boy's face close up ^^
Aaaaagh! What a handsome boy! That hair! Those eyes! He's so unique and ditstinct. AND. I. LOVE. HIM. (!!!!!) Hahahahehehe... Oh, man. But now I'm a little nervous- will you be giving him boy-parts soon? (Oh, myyy...)
Your dolls have a very unique look about them- I like it! Mew's my favorite. Can't wait to see your boy and android when they're finished!
Oh, sweet, mouthless? That's definitely unique. Then again, it's not as if robots need mouths! ^_^ Also, your nameless boy is looking good! *thumbs up* I personally think he looks like an "Adrian" or an "Anjou" or something like that... Some sort of name that starts with the letter "A". ^^; .... I beginning to imagine him in a fantastic mask and cape. As in "Aha! He is Renaldo! The Master Thief!" ...........or something like that. *scratches head* Something about him is a little "dashing", I dare say!
I've been lucky enough to see Arcadie and Mew yesterday, without being warned XD I've made some pictures. They aren't the best but I like them ^^ Arcadie They are both so easy to manipulate, so original and interesting *____* Mew has the perfect size for me, and Arcadie looks like a little android spirit! I'm so eager to see the progress on both dolls!
Thanks Dianna ^^ -------------------- Some photos to show you Arcadie's poseability. I'm pretty happy with her, she poses well (ok, those ones were without her arms but it's the same with). I need to work on her arms better. On Kirane's photos her shoulders are too round and wide. And next to an MSD doll Tomorrow I'll work back on my SD boy. I want him in Fruits style (bought all the fabric I needed to sew him clothes. I'm so excited ! ) He is still nameless but well .... I've so many things to do I don't know how I'll managed to finish everything in time T.T
That android is so cute. I'm really impressed with her poseability. And seeing how tiny she is next to an msd, I'm getting even more impressed with the level of detail you've achieved. Her body line is also quite beautiful. I find her mouthless face a bit scary, but that's just me (and don't know if you're gonna add a mouth later.)
Gorgeous dolls, the android girl is very beautiful and the concept of leaving out the mouth is an excellent and original idea. You are very talented.
Your dolls are lovely! They are so asian and pretty, and i love how real they are. They look like theyre based on real people rather than exaggerated anime characters ^_^ I think i might really want one of your androids, they look like theyre going to be amazing O_o
Thanks. I like mouthless faces. It gives a real focus to the eyes and even without mouth the character can show feelings. A bit difficult to explain ^^; Arcadie is waiting to be more customized, I'm pondering about how to draw and carve the metal parts, that's why she has drawings all over her body. The corset boy is also in good way. He has now two arms and is stringed. I need to sculpt the elbows and the left knee. The hands are almost done, I also need to fix the left hip joints. There's the feet left that I can't do right, It's or too wide or too long to fit SD shoes.. Annoying -.- And I need to remove all the paint on his face... you can't imagine how I hate myself for having tried to spray primer on him .. It's so difficult to remove ! Anyway, I hope to finish him quickly as I really want to sew clothes for him. And make the "corset" too.... a little surprise for the end
Theyre both looking lovely I must say the androids still my favourite tho, i cant wait to see how she turns out! *watches intently* Do you reckon youre going to sculpt/carve metal bits or just paint them on?
Today was Arcadie's day. I've started to carve her body and drill the holes to fix the tubs. Ok, the only plastic strings I has were pink scoubidous (dunno the word in english ^^; ) It works pretty well anyway. I haven't finished yet, there's still her second leg to carve and her face to smooth but I'm quite happy, it seems to work well. I'll try to at leas paint her with gesso tomorrow.
Your dolls are fascinating, and thank you SO MUCH for your gesso tips and lovely step by step pictures!
Just a teaser for Arcadie, she is far to be finished and hard to customize. I'm pretty bad with a paintbrush ^^, I've opened her eyes now and she will wear a red wig. I'm still hesitating between gree, gold or red eyes.
Slowly I'm painting her ... Oh gosh you can't even imagine how I hate using a paintbrush ... Sadly she is not prefect in her customisation but well, it's not too bad I guess. I need to fix lots of details. I wonder too wich eyes color she will have ... gold, emerald, red ? And her wig will be red too, just need to make it.
Thanks. Arcadie is in stand by for the week because of health problems but I'll managed to fully customize her. I'm not sure I'll cast her, I'm much more pondering about selling her after she is fully customized but my decision isn't made yet (and there's still lot of time left before I finish her ^^; ) I forgot to post pics of Arcadie with hair ... Well, I need to make the wig but that can give you an idea....
