I didn't see a thread for the upcoming NYC Doll Con 2026, so I figured it was time to make one! What panels/events do you want to attend? What dolls are you planning to bring? What dealer/vendor are you most excited to see? Do you have any goals or wishlists you hope to achieve while there? For me, I'm volunteering so I won't be able to do some of the panels but I'm hoping to attend the joint sculpting workshop and the tinies / anthro meetup! I'm definitely bringing my CoralReef White Rabbit but since I changed my travel plans, I need to pare down who all is coming. I'm super excited to see Raps1993 and Raphsidion again as well as see Kumukuku's booth! And really, my main goal is to just hang out with all the cool people I've met in the hobby and see friends in person that I usually only get to hang out with online. But I'm also going to be on the hunt for clothes and other accessories for my current crew! Anyway, here's a photo from last year's doll con of my axolotl crew specifically!
Omg, your axolotl dolls are adorable!! I’ll be attending this year for the first time I haven’t been in the hobby very long compared to a lot of others, so I’m just excited to see a lot of the community in one place and to see more doll stuff in person! I’ll most likely be bringing my special 1/4 Ringdoll Baldwin—he’s a weird clothing/wig size to shop for, so it would be nice to get the chance to try things on him at the con
I'm doing one of the panels, so preparing for that will keep me busy. I also look forward to seeing Youpla in the dealer's room.
This Canadian will be visiting for 4 days. My girls are SD size, and I have a lot of across-border anxiety as of late, so I'll settle for bringing their OB11 versions to my trip. I just wanna see all the dolls and perhaps do a little shopping. Definitely looking forward to participating in panels and workshops.
Thank you for volunteering! Hope to see you at the con. ^^ I can't believe it's so close already! I'll be in town from the 13th through the 20th since the two times I've visited NYC before have both been for business trips where I only really saw the airport, my office, and my hotel room. So excited to actually see NYC this time and hopefully take some photos of my dolls! I'll be bringing my Noble Dolls Raspberry and Rivanone (the other two are getting their faceups redone), Puyoodoll Baby Kumako, and Atelier Momoni Momonita. On Saturday, I'll be attending the Art Doll Enthusiasts Meet Up and Tinies 1/6 Meet, and on Sunday, I'll be attending the 1/4 meet. You crew is so cute and tiny - and so colorful, too!!
Oooh what panel are you running? Oof yeah, the border anxiety is real. Not sure if you're flying but with how bad TSA has been in the states (keep that in mind if you're flying back - lines are currently 4-6 hours long and even pre-check for la guardia hit 2 hours TT__TT ) Oooh I can't wait to see them! I used to have a ND Raspberry - but I've downsized to 1/6 and smaller - but I am often tempted by some of the beautiful msd sculpts out there. I hope you have lots of fun exploring the city and getting amazing photos!
There goes my Sunday plans... because of course I bought a weekend pass and hoped to fly home that same evening. I'll pray for all the airports to be smooth for travellers, artists, and dealers alike!
I'm very excited for it! I haven't gone to any type of con since I was maybe 14 or so, and the panels and vendors I'm aware of sound super cool. I'm really looking forward to being able to see some types of dolls IRL as well as get to try on different things for some of my dolls that have been a bit trickier to shop for scale-wise. The only thing is that I'm still scrambling on which exactly I'll bring with me!
Oh nooooo. What time is your flight? If you can - it might be worth it to see if you can bump it to Monday if that's feasible for you! Ahhh that's so cool! I hope it goes well! Do you know about the signups section? https://www.nycdollconvention.com/program-schedule I know they sent out emails via eventbrite but also not everyone checks
I did end up signing up for some panels in the form, I thankfully got the email when it went live! I don't use IG so I appreciated that they had another way of people knowing when they opened! Thank you for letting me know, still!!
I wasn't sure I'd be able to go again this year until the tickets were almost sold out, but I'm excited to be able to make it again! I am in super crunch time trying to get the dolls I want to bring finished (since I wasn't sure I'd be able to go, I wasn't pushing myself too much to finish them by the end of last year soo there's been a lot to do lol) and make a bag to bring them in. I'm a little nervous about bringing dolls, but also excited. I didn't bring any with me last year, so I'm looking forward to going to some of the meet ups (mine are SD sized, so I'll be at that one!) And I really hope they'll have the photo setups again this year so I can take some (hopefully) nice pictures of them! I'm planning on going to the pattern making workshop (tentatively. I mostly know how to make patterns for full sized clothing, so i sort of feel like maybe someone else could use the spot more and feel bad taking it lol), the diverse dolls panel, angeltoast's panel, the Tonner panel, and the wig styling one. I'm also looking forward to checking out the area around the venue this year. Japan Village sounds neat, and I think it'll be fun to go to the Bandai store and Daiso too! Also looking forward to meeting people and hanging out with other people in the hobby. I'm staying with a big group , which i think will be fun.
I’m so excited to go this year since I didn’t attend last year! I’m gonna bring one of my Ebidoll Aydens with me and potentially my Woodolls Pandora or some of my DHS tinies. And maybe my Granny Mouse, I can’t decideeee. I’ll see what I can fit in a backpack, I’m thinking of buying a bubble backpack for pets to show them off. I’m planning on going to the TianBa faceup tutorial panel, basic pattern making workshop, synthetic wig styling panel, Angel Toast panel, and stringing workshop. I wanted to do the flower crown workshop but it was already capped when I signed up for everything (even though I only did it an hour late). I want to try to make it to all the games too! I’m also looking forward to the meetups, especially the SD and art doll enthusiasts meetups. My goal of the con is to meet people and buy some clothes for my boys and maybeeee buy a doll we’ll see. And I can’t wait to check out Japan Village! Seems like a cool area, I’m never in Brooklyn so I wanna do as much as I can before I go back to CT (including going to the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens after the con on Sunday).
