Meetup New York City November 10, 2018 meetup

The tabletop look familiar? The ex-Sony space was closed yesterday. The first ones to arrive gave a shot at the prior meeting space of the IBM atrium behind the Trump Tower. It was okay (if a bit chilly). Apparently the bag searches are down to when you go into the Tower to use the lower-level restrooms.

But of course, just as 56th street is still closed to vehicles, there was still a police officer outside the Madison Ave. entrance, and additional stationary security inside:

Yup, dog, SWAT gear, AND automatic rifles.

I hope Trump regularly thanks the City of New York, that has to pay for all that extra protection of the building he doesn't regularly live in any more-- (And yes, they did have real faces.)

And while I'm posting, I'd like to ask if anybody remembers the matching modded doll to this one:

She's a Juri06, and I remember there were originally two of these mods, made to be characters from some fantasy/sf story. The other, I vaguely remember, had the forehead markings in red? And I think they were modded around the 2006-2008 era. I acquired this head several years ago, after it had gone through a number of owners, but I don't know what happened to the other one, or if it still exists with the same faceup.

 

@ginarolo - I mentioned it in December's thread. They're closed for renovations. I'll check closer to December to find out if they'll be open for our next meetup. (Sure hope the restrooms are included in the renovations!)
