My projects tend to linger forgotten in a box or drawer, unfinished forever. This time I'm challenging myself to actually finish it. The objective is 3 sets of outfits for 5 dolls in a year. I think it's doable, as long as I stay focused. From left to right: Io, a nature mage speciallized in poisonous plants Unnamed doll, no background Stella, a fortune teller that uses birds to see the future Flora and Oliver, both alchemists training under their grandmother Since january 1st I have been making some trousers for Flora. They are not finished yet, but are turning out great! The flowers might be a bit bigger than ideal, but it's a 30% linen fabric that feels amazing in the hand. I've been trying a different type of seams. They take a long time to do: because they are so small, they need to be closed entirely by hand! I still need to close the seams on the legs and finish the waist. And add a set of three buttons on each side for closure.
@taxidermydoll Thanks! I've been wanting to make this for some time now. ---------- Here it is! The trousers are finished
Good luck! I'm trying to do this same thing - only I'm aiming for just one outfit for all of my naked dolls! And I have a LOT!!! The pants are so cute! I think the print works very well for what you are using it for. And they turned out very clean and fitting your doll great! I look forward to seeing what else you do!
No pictures today! Just checking in to tell that I`ve started a simple white dress for Flora. I`m not sure what the fabric is, but it`s very light and silky to the touch.
Super cute! I agree, a pinafore would look great with it. This dress looks like it will be a very nice and versatile base piece that could easily be built around and styled and combined with other garments to get different looks.
@Lillith Yes! It`s a good base for many other pieces of clothing. I`ll try to make some detached collars like a peter pan and a sailor to see how it looks. Trying out a shirt to go with the trousers! Now the question is: should I make it sleeveless and add a coat on top, or just a long sleeved shirt is enough?
Great progress so far! For my taste, I think just the shirt would be fine, if you added enough interesting details, or styled it with some sort of tie or bow or ribbon around the neck. A coat would be cuter though... but I'm not the person who has to sew it, haha!
Ok, the shirt doesn't match the trousers at all But I was trying different combinations of fabrics and just fell in love with this one. Will sew new trousers, black this time.
