New to BJD

    1. Hello everyone, my name is Nic.
      I've been interested in BJDs for several years now. I've been slowly trying to sculpt my own and have been thinking about buying my first doll. I really love dolls with unusual features.
      I'm also interested in making clothing for dolls. There's a fabric thrift store near me which sources from theater costume designers so I've gotten my hands on some gorgeous fabric scraps that are the perfect size for doll clothes.
      Now I just need a doll! :)

    3. Hello! I am new as well! I have adored BJDS for years--my first one was a Dollsoom. Having lost connection with it for a while I am back into it again! I hope to see pictures of your sculpt sometime! I'm also hoping to try my hand at a sculpt too.

    7. Hi, Nic! You have officially caught the interest of the fabric hoarders sewists!
      What do you mean by unusual? The BJD hobby has some wild dolls. I am partial to Dream Valley, Doll Chateau, and Dollzone, but there are so many independent artists these days (mouth claws yessssss).
      Is there a particular size you are interested in?
      What do you like to sew? We have a Project Journal section with a monthly sewing challenge, if you're so inclined.
