New Lati Yellow dolls

I am just now seeing this thread and have a few questions. What size are the Lati Yellows? I've been all over the Lati site and it's never mentioned. How much did they cost? There's one on a secondary market but the price seems awfully high. Can anyone please help me? Thanks.

 

Maddmom: There are 2 sizes: yellow - 16cm & yellow Special - 20cm

The basic yellow (16cm) cost 200 USD (w/o faceup) and the Special & Limited of course would cost more. Lati is reopening on 8 Sep for order of Basic & Special Bunny version. Hope this helps

 

THANK YOU so very much. That helps alot. Now, for another (stupid) question: how do they compare to the Puki dolls? Is it just a matter of preferences? So many dolls, I'm just trying to straighten them out in my brain.

 

You can go to latidoll.com and see all the dollies with multiple pictures and descriptions. The new ordering period will begin Sept. 8th, so you'll be able to order one directly from the manufacturer then. On the secondary market, some of these dolls will be higher than the original price if they are sold out editions.

Has anyone used the Masterpiece Silicone eyes for their Lati's? I'm needing to know what size to buy, They are 13mm or 15mm...there is no 14mm yikes

 

You would get 15mm if you want 14mm. But, it really depends on which doll you have, I hear Cookie and Byurl look better in smaller eyes.

 

I have a Coco

 

For Coco it would be 15 mm eyes. For Byurl, Cookie and Momo you would have to get 13 mm eyes. I am getting some of those eyes as well...I love them!

lising...I am sooooo jealous! When I first found Lati, tan Miel was the one I fell in love with, but the edition had been sold out months before. I am still dreaming to have one of my own someday (and a tan Cookie, tan Coco and tan Lea.... :p )

 

The tans are my most favorite release so far. I have a tan cookie, too, but she doesn't get nearly as much love as my miel does!

 

YES!! I love tanned miel!! She is my favorite toooo~ ^.^ Miel was my very first lati, and when she came out in tan I just about died to have her!!

 

These little guys are just too cute. I plan to order one when the ordering period opens up. I do have a couple of concerns.

The magnets that hold on the feet and hands, do they do a good job or do the hands and feet fall off a lot?

What clothes and shoes fit the 16cm size the best?

What clothes and shoes fit the 20cm size the best?

The magnets hold them quite well but you can knock them off if you put their clothes over them and I wouldnt really hold them by the magnetic parts because they are strong but not strong enough to hold their full weight.

Clothes for 16cm: There is a doll from the 70's called Tutti that was Barbie's little sister, I have found that some of her clothes fit. Some Pipos Rooney style clothes fit. Other than that its just stuff on Etsy for Lati Yellow.

I think that 20cm is even harder to dress because they are taller and there is not as much available for them on Etsy. Also the 20cm dolls dont have interchangeable hands so some of the fun stuff you get with the 16cm like the pointer finger and fist I dont think you get with the 20cm SP body! (or if you do get them you have to restring those hands and they are not magnetic)

16cm fit in alot of Riley Kish shoes and also some of my Blythe Princess Sara shoes fit but with socks.

20cm Have huge feet, I have NO Idea what fits them since I dont have that size body.

I like the Riley shoes for my Lati's . I also alter Ellery Kish patterns for them. I don't have Ellery, so I have never tried her actual clothes, but they are supposed to fit.

 

Thank you both so much! I have so many items, props, clothes, etc, from my Riley Kish days that I thought the little yellow Latis would be a perfect bjd. I will start out with the 16cm one and if I am head over heels with her, I will go for the bigger one as she will need a big sister or brother! Now to decide which one to start with......

 

What is the difference in the renewal body and the older body? Is it just the magnets ? I see clothes that say they fit renewal body...whats the difference?

 

Good questions, I wonder if only the yellow edition has the magnets but if they make the hands look funny I wouldn't want that, anybody have some photos to share showing the magnets in the hands & feet?

 

Does anyone know how fast the ordering period sells out/lasts once the restock is complete? I want to buy a basic special Byurl, but will I still be able to get one by October? (or does the ordering period close in less than a month?).

 

I don't think the ordering period ever last a month these days... More like three weeks max, I think...

 

I ordered my Byurl (no face-up) on July 5th and the doll arrived August 6th. The magnetic hands and feet are great.

 

That's pretty quick, I just hope they don't ship out my clothing/wigs order before I can order my Belle & combine the 2 orders. I would love to get a yellow too but can't right now, have to wait until next year because I've been breaking the bank buying Puki stuff.

Hello! I am new here.... I dream of such doll too.

 

Not sure if this is the right place to post as I'm new here and fumbling around a bit....but how in the world do you decide? I don't have any bjd's, just blythe but I am really wanting a lati yellow.

I either want a lami, lumi or byurl but I just can't decide. And is Byrul new? I can't seem to find as many pictures on flickr. I'd love one with pigtails and bright eyes but I'd love to see more photos first.

I'll probably just leap in and go with whatever is striking me that day but I'm so nervous I'll pick wrong and then won't be able to find the one I want!

You're right,it is hard to decide which one to get. I guess it all depends on your taste. I like the happier ones best,but they are all sweet.

I think the best way to really get a sense of which one you like best is to look at owner pictures. Flickr has a HUGE community of lati yellow owners. I usually search by each of their names in turn. eg: "lati yellow cookie". Also looking through the flickr groups for each of the different molds is helpful cuz sometimes people who's albums are private post pictures in there.

and yes, byurl is new. He/she was just released this past summer i think. I would LOVE a byurl, but my heart is set on a special version cookie. I want the kitty version, but I'm also hoping that the new rabbit version is just as cute. Unfortunately the special versions (like the kitty versions and the tan dolls) are limited and therefore difficult to find.

 

The renewal body makes the doll 16cm tall while the special body makes the doll 20cm tall. They are just trying to suit different people. They use the same head, foot sizes etc. will also be different so you'll need different shoes as well as outfits. But wigs and eyes all the same

I don't think that's what LadyCrow meant. There was an older Lati Yellow body before they came out with "renewal", I found this on Flickr showing an "old body" next to "renewal". I can't see that much of a difference, except another joint on the upper leg. (anything else? please correct me if I'm wrong )

 

Thank You Princess, yes that is what I meant. I'm getting a renwal body in a few days,so I will know first hand. I know the SP is taller, but I'm not sure what the difference is in the old and the renewal body. I'm hoping they can still wear the same clothes. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

 

WOW you got lucky.. I ordered my Miel Jun 15th and he didnt arrive until August 14th! and I didnt order special makeup or anything!

 

XD Wow! The wait gotten shorter then? I ordered my Sp. Lumi mid September of last year, she arrived in early December!

 

Does anybody have both Yellow Cookie & Lea? I would love to see a photo of their faces next to each other if you do. Thank you in advance.

Rabbit Momo looks sadder with those eye brows. But still lovely!

 

I don't like them at all....I am really disappointed, had wanted to buy a Benny if she would have looked anything like cat Benny or HK Elf Benny which I adored...

 

I think the rabbits are really cute but probably not worth the extra money over a basic for me. Still, they are cute so don't get me wrong. I'm kind of hoping they'll do the tan ones again, I'd pay extra for a tan one since I missed out last time. What are the odds, do you think, that they'll make those again?

 

I just took another look at the site. I am not fond of the rabbit thing but I think it is nice that now the basic special comes with an additional 3 set of hands. I am thinking of a Byurl on a girl body but with a different wig. Does anyone have one?

I am still not sure of the size, though. It is hard to see which one will work better with all my props left over from my Riley Kish days.

But I must say, the little faces on these guys are just too cute to pass up!

How is the quality of their wigs?

 

I wonder if they come with regular feet too, I'm on the fence with the outfit.

 

I think I've decided on a bunny version Cookie. I've been looking at her and the basic version, and tho the differences are very subtle, I just like the bunny version more, and I'm willing to spend the extra $50. I'm still in love with the kitty version, but I'm beginning to think its a lost cause, and I don't know if I can really afford to pay more than the original price for her..... I mean technically I *could* but I probably shouldn't. (plus I'm a sucker for free optional hands... lol)

I need to start saving for a new laptop....

Cinwills, your Byurl is adorable! I love the Sp. white bunny outfit but want regular feet for my girl so I'm going to order a sp. white Belle with painted faceup for both her & the free head. I am hoping that Lati does a special Christmas edition this year for the Sp. Yellows, I've been looking at photos on the net & Lea has stolen my heart!

edited to add: when do you think we (USA folks) can order? I know there's a time difference but don't know what it is.

 

Its 12-13 (um, from eastern time) hours, but I don't think they are going to sell out too quickly. The cats were open for about three weeks. So, if they are opening at Noon on the 12th, you can order around Midnight tonight. You can google Korean time, and it will give you the current time in the results.

I am luckily not in love with the bunnies, which I thought I would be. I really can't afford it right now. They are cute, but I can pass. I only got the cat version because I really liked the faceups. I don't care for the animal hands and feet. I am sad to miss out on the extra hands. With the cats, they did come with people hands and feet as well.

 

i hesitate between Rabbit Byurl & rabbit lea... (i wish i could get both XD)

Yes, the 3/4 Kemper fits Puki, the wigs are really nice. Check the shops who carry Kemper wigs to look for the 5/6 size, you can also go to the Monique website & get the Natalie wig, they have a bleach blond in 5/6 that may be light enough, they mail out fast too:

The Natalie size 4 fits Puki, I bought a bunch of colors for my Pukis.

I really do hope Lati does a special Christmas edition for the Yellows, I am saving for a Lea now just in case, does anybody know how much the past Christmas editions have been?
