Hi, my new body arrived recently. This is the first time I have ordered a new body without any owner reviews, so I was curious to see what I would receive. I have compared it to other msd bodies I own, maybe someone will find this useful From the left: - Fairyland Fairyline body Dina (tan skin) - Souldoll N.L. Soulkid body Yeon-Bee (normal skin) - Huajing Doll Special body + Doll in Mind Larina (both normal skin) - Doll Leaves body + Dollits Julia (both normal skin) The light blue lingerie set on Huajing's body is made by AnjaDollHouse (instagram&etsy) and the rest by me, as is the jewellery. 1. Standing Minifee was the most frustrating to set up. I got the impression that one of her legs was slightly shorter. Still, she looks so lovely, being so short. Huajing was the easiest to stand still. It required practically nothing. 2. Holding hand to face Spoiler: Close-ups By far Souldoll has the most trouble keeping her hand close to her face and wrist joint doesn't work well. Huajing wins, second is Doll Leaves (but that's my only wired body). Of course, if we raise their elbows high for all of them then each will be able to touch the face, but my point was to show maximum elbow bend in neutral position. 3. Sitting on your heels Spoiler: Close-ups So I was surprised at how well the souldoll body can sit like this without any wiring. The second most natural pose is DollLeaves, but I remind you that this body is wired. Huajing's body can't sit properly, but even that looks so good that I'm not angry at all 4. Knees pulled up to the chin 53711344824_5fcde104db_b.jpg (1024×768) (staticflickr.com) Spoiler: Close-ups 53711010581_d0dc239996_c.jpg (600×800) (staticflickr.com) Finally, my favourite pose. I was sure the minifee could do it. I can't make it, but maybe someone knows if they can? Huajing does this pose perfectly. Doll Leaves surprised me, but she can also sit like this too. The only difference between the last two is that when lifted by the torso, Huajing still holds the pose, but Doll Leaves no longer does (she desperately needs a new elastic). I'm not sure why the last two photos don't work and how to fix it, so I'll just paste the link for now. You can also see more close-ups of each doll on my Flickr: Caramello_Cat | Flickr My overall opinion: I adore this body. Aesthetically, this body may be too slender for some people and not their cup of tea, but I love how effortlessly she poses and holds that. The thigh joints work beautifully and the whole body is so detailed. The only small drawback is the very narrow neck, but some clothes and a wig can hide that. I don't know how the other Huajing bodies poses, but so far this is my favourite MSD body and my second favourite after the Maskcat SD. And after holding it, I know I need to restring the others
Thank you for this! I've been eager to see how the special body poses. I have the huajing V4 girl body that came out shortly before this one - it also poses very well (and can't sit on its legs) but the special body seems to have much better torso and thigh mobility. All of your girls look beautiful, too
Very interesting! And very pretty dolls! It is a shame that Minifee's don't pose better (legs to chest, sitting on legs, etc.) - I really love the hand sculpts and their height. I feel like many companies neglect the "knees to chest" and "sitting on backs of legs" poses, but those are two of my favorites! I have a 1/3 Maskcat doll as well and consider her to be among the most beautiful dolls I've ever seen (such gorgeous hands and feet, beautiful collarbones, etc.). She still can't quite manage the "sitting on backs of legs" pose, but she's too beautiful to get mad at for that. Anyway, thank you for the comparison! I always enjoy seeing this kind of thing.
Ooo love this! Very useful Is your Laia from the more recent DIM Msd G.O.? The body line is very beautiful and seems more petite- I think I want for my DIM Flowne
That is music to my ears. I ordered the special body specifically for my Fairyland Chic Line head, and very narrow neck is exactly what I need. Thank you for this beautiful and very helpful comparison! Your dolls are gorgeous, and the lingerie is so delicate and detailed! I love my Doll Leaves body. I'm always a little surprised when folks pooh pooh more affordable doll lines - a little wiring and hot glue, and they pose wonderfully.
Okay so I’m not crazy, I swear one of my Minifee’s legs is shorter than the other. To make her stand straight she has to pop her hip or shoulder a teeny bit. I have the new special body too, and I think she poses very well! Add is so sturdy, even in the heel feet with the resin shoes.
Thank you very much! I can definitely recommend this body for its mobility. If you want to see any other poses, I will eagerly test what else it can do ^^ I think it's a shame too. I had heard a lot of good things about their posing before I bought her, but personally I have more complaints about it than I expected. I'm just not sure if it's a problem with my ability to pose her, or with the Fairyline body specifically, or with my doll in particular. And yes, the Maskcat SD body is a work of art in itself, despite its little flaws I'm glad you found this helpful! I bought my Larina second hand about two years ago, unfortunately I missed that GO and the heads I wanted to order. Anyway, I think this body works really well for a dim head ^^ Just you have to know that this body has a very small head hook, and in the Larina head the neck hole is too big for this hook and the head falls down. I don't know how it is in the Flowne head, but if the size is the same, you have to replace the hook with a bigger one. (I just swap them between this and my Doll Leaves body). Personally, the neck was a little too short for me, so I put a thick layer of hot glue between the neck and the head and this quickly fix this problem Thank you! I wonder what your hybrid will look like, I haven't seen Chicline dolls in ages! Please post a picture of it when the body arrives, even in this thread I also agree with Doll Leaves opinion. For a more budget body, it's great, especially if you're working on more mobility, through hot gluing, sueding or wiring, it can do more than enough. And it works well proportionally with many of the heads I've tried on it. Thank you very much So it is a thing? I was sure it was just my imagination, or maybe my Dina is just a little crooked. I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's so frustrating sometimes, so many people say the Minifee poses so well, and I can't get her to stand up easily and quickly Oh, and I forgot to take a photo in heels! And yes, she is so wonderfully sturdy, and the extra heels were a nice touch.
Thank you for the comparison photos, very useful and much appreciated. Looking just at the photo (without knowing the measurement) I wouldn't think it's slimmer compare to souldoll. Does that mean normal msd size will be too big and minifee sized clothes fit better? Clothing that fit souldoll will be too big for her? May I know if you have to pull the limb to engage the joints? for example if you have to pull the thigh first before you can put it up closer to the chest or if it just slide easily? same with the elbow and knee joints. I've seen a few dolls where I have to pull the thigh out first before I can put it up and pose closer to chest.
Mine fits some Minifee clothes. She’s a lot taller so I doubt pants and some long sleeve shirts would fit right. She can just barely squeeze into tight fitting Minifee stuff, but loose cute is fine. And no you don’t have to pop the thigh out. It slides pretty nice. Getting my Minifee to stand was easy when she was new, but these days it’s a little tricky. And if she is in heels it’s so freaking difficult even with a stand And the resin heels, forget it
Thank you for the reply @lully.lullers That's wondeful, and makes me consider getting it seriously now
From the pictures, the new Huajing special body reminds me of Dream Valley's B4-19 body - wide hips, skinny legs. Good thing I've got a lot of small and stretchy stuff.
@marxwyn as @lully.lullers said, she can fit into some minifee clothes. I would say minifee clothes would fit her better on top, but other msd clothes would be better on the bottom. Regular msd clothes on top would look a bit baggy or oversized if you want that look. But it really depends on the clothes and the fabric. And yes, the joints slides well Here is my Aura in msd clothing. The skirt can be adjusted at the back to make it fit. And another photo, because I managed to put her on one foot with heels! (Apologies for the poor quality, but my phone couldn't have done it better) Spoiler: More standing photos
thank you so much @Caramello_Cat That is a gorgeous outfit too. Your Dim x Huajing hybris is lovely Thank you again for the posing review
Thank you, I'm glad you found my review useful This hybrid has become my favourite now, although this body was originally meant to belong to my Dollits Julia (the redhead from the photos). It looked even better proportionally, but Julia had yellowed a bit and the colours didn't match so well.
