Hello! I'm new here! I like different types of dolls and I got into BJDs from a friend on Instagram. I am currently really into sculpts from @fengxian_jiu I like big and tall muscled boy dolls and petite ladies to go with them. I really want to learn to sew BJD clothes, so I'm hoping I can find the sewing people around here. I like to take pictures of my dolls alot! Happy to be here!
Welcome to DoA! I hope you'll like it here. This is a wonderful place for BJD discussions in general and the crafting aspects of the hobby is very well represented. There is plenty of sewing, knitting, crochet and embroidery going on in the workshop forums and if you ever need a boost of motivation I hightly recomend joining in the monthly Sewing Project. You find it in the Project Journals forum in the workshop section. Current theme is Leftovers and Recycling and even if it's just one week left of this month, it's ok to join late if you want to. Next months theme is Vintage and Retro and it usually ok to be quite liberal in your interpretation of the theme. It's not strict at all, mostly just a fun way to get some things done and being in good company while doing it.
Hey there! Welcome to DOA! I like to sew for my dolls too and I have found a lot of good advice on here for sewing and crafting stuff! Do you have any ideas for things you want to make? ^_^
Thank you so much for the welcome and information! I really want to make 75cm and 65cm historical clothes!
Hi! Thank you for the welcome! I really want to make a tunic with belt for my big Voice boys. They are very big in the chest and shoulders and difficult to find clothes for.
Oh, cool! I love historical clothes. And at that size you can get very detailed if you want to and I imagine you have a lot less trouble to get things to drape right compared to the smaller scales. Most of my dolls are in 1/4 scale and I also have a small collection in 1/6, so I know that struggle. I look forward to see anything you want to share!
