Hybrids Neck size questions!

The best tip I have for hybrids is comparing a few measurements outside of the neck size. First, the head size, if it's similar, it'll look proportionate (more than likely at least!), and same with shoulder size between the body that the Switch and Joydoll heads originally were on. From what I can see, the Asai 70 cm body has about a 17.3 cm shoulder width, and the heads seem roughly around 21 cm from the ones I have found online. Usually you can get away with a 1 cm difference for the necks, if it does end up being a 10.5 cm neck, you can add a decent amount of hot glue in the head hole to kind of lift it up and fill that difference in. As for specific examples, there is a doll owner on Flickr who has a Ajeong C head on a DF-H 65 cm body, which has a 10.5 cm neck, and they have all angles on this hybrid to get a good idea of how it would look on a body that is similar in neck size. For an owner with an even smaller neck size, this owner on Flickr has the Joydoll Lai head on a Volks SD16 body (which from what I can tell, has a 9.5 cm neck), and while the hair does mostly cover the neck/shoulder area to see if there is gapping, I think it does prove that you could easily go for a smaller neck size for both of these heads and have no issues! I would also search both the body and heads on here and see what hybrids people are coming up with to compare the measurements!

 

Hello! Those first set of pics that Emmacandyapple linked are mine so I can confirm that Ajeong Closer has a 10.5cm neck and not 11.5. At most he might be close to 11cms but not 11.5cms. I have my AC head permanently on a DF-A 68cm body which has a 10.5cm neck as well, and the only gapping is like maybe a millimeter at the front of the neck directly under the chin area. So the head would probably fit better on the 10.5cm option that Asai has for the 70cm bodies neck.

 

I have Joydoll Lai on 2DDoll's 68cm girl body. I measured the neck circumference and it's about 10.7cm. I think the neck has a slimmer look, which I like for my female Lai.

Joydoll said that Lai is suitable for neck circumference of 11.5cm and less. So you can pick either neck size for Asai 70 - smaller if you prefer a slimmer look, larger if you want a more masculine wider look.
