Hello everybody, Let's discuss about mini dolls made by artist Natalia Loseva. The dolls are amazing, looking natural and realistic and they have a singular beauty. The clothes and accessories are so cute! Natalia's work links: Flickr natalia loseva dolls Live Journal Мир живых кукол Facebook facebook.com/natalialosevadoll YouTube Natalia Loseva Ps. I don't found any thread about this. If already exist, I ask apology If you know more links, let us know too.
Beautiful dolls! I've been admiring them on the artist's Flickr. What size are they? And where might we find prices? The Livejournal site still appeared only in Russian even after I clicked on English language.
@vermont chick The dolls are around 38 cm. It seems to me, to know prices, make an order or ask questions, you should talk to Natalia by Facebook. She responds quickly on Flickr too. I do not know if the prices are customized, if vary in each order. I have the impression that she sells full package: faceup, body blushing, clothes and accessories. But that is just my doubts and speculations. Ps. Natalia has a profile here. Maybe you talk to her by PM. @Eiko82 I also met these dolls recently. I love them!
Nice to see a thread about these dolls! I've been watching her work for a while now. All of her dolls are OOAK. Pricing is $3,500.00 plus shipping. You can ask to join the mailing list if you're interested in purchasing one of her dolls. They are sold only as fullest set. For anyone interested, I'd recommend joining her email list. Hope this helps.
@mdonline03 These informations helps a lot! But I have a question. What is OOAK indeed? The set is OOAK (in each order the coomposition is different). Or the doll face is OOAK (the artist makes a different face for each order)?
Thank you, @PriscilaVi. I'll try to reach her via PM. I'm not on Facebook. I hope you meant to write $350.00. The other price is more than I paid for my first car!
@vermont chick I was scared too! hahahaha But I think these dolls cost U$3.500,00 indeed. If they are OOAK... I think it is possible. Converting to my currency (BRL), it will cost around R$12.500, a small fortune. It is also enough to buy a car here
Oh wow... they're truly gorgeous and I'm sure they have their market, but at that price it's truly a "display it in a glass case in the gallery wing of your enormous mansion because you are insanely rich" kind of purchase, heh. By which I mean, it's more of an art doll, versus a hobby doll. Very inspiring to look at though!
I think these dolls are truly works of art, though if I had a chance to buy, I would play a lot with them. I think that when something is expensive you have to enjoy a lot to be worth it. I would pose them a lot. They must be great to pose and photograph, because they are small and light. The most difficult should be sew for them, but nothing that it can not achieve with a few tries. I think these dolls would be large in a 1/6 diorama, but still I would like to try one day. It's been a long time since I would to get some dioramas, but I have not decide if will be 1/6 or 1/12, it will depend very much if I will find the right doll. Particularly, charmed me a lot Fleur from Rose Garden (1/12).
I brought in this thread my doll from Natalia Loseva http://s019.radikal.ru/i629/1607/5b/1de6652f1dcf.jpg
OMG! Someone got one! Congrats Lino4ka. They are far too rich for my purse to even consider, but I have a probably vain dream that one day she might bring out a blank line for us customisers. I have been nagging her on it for months until she must be absolutely sick of the sound of me, but not many dolls move me these days and these ones do. Not the men, which is surprising, given that my collection is a sausage fest, but the women. Lolita...
Thank you! They are amazing!!! Soon together with Lolita will come... Sophie!!!!!! and for now my Mila
Natalia posted photos of her new body with greater posability and slimmer waist. Looks great, but waist in old version looked more natural
The body on the right (which I assume is the old body) definitely looks more natural. The boobs and waist on the left body just look weird to me.
I wish I could have one of them. They are truly amazing. But 3500 is a lot for one doll. @Lino4ka Your girl is beautiful. Her smile is so amazing. Just seeing pictures of her makes my heart jump of joy.
thanks a lot to all of you! I hope one day all of you will be enjoying the dolls of Natalya personally.
I was wondering why she only do ooak dolls. I like the idea, she do it very well. I feel that receiving a doll complete is a good experience, no worries about what to do with a blank doll. You never feel the need to buy a complete doll? I mean a full customized doll.
I buy these dolls to customise them. So, a complete doll is of no interest to me. It would deprive me of the biggest part of my fun. And that is even without considering the price, which there is no way I could afford. However, this is very much the way for Russian art dolls; you buy them complete. I did ask her one more time, saying that I very much enjoy customising so was really hoping she might, one day, release a blank line. She said she also enjoys customising. So, that is that, then. I shall leave her alone.
Hahah she have some humor sense. Probably if she do a blank line, her prices will be 1000+ dollars like popovy and enchanted. Would be that bad? she wants her dolls to be very exclusive.
Popovies are $800 blank. That is still A LOT of money for so small a doll, and more than I am prepared to pay. However, if a person were really committed, they could save that up. So, attainable but retaining the exclusivity. I personally prefer the inclusive approach of artists such as aGatti who charge $450 for a 47cm doll, ensuring that more people can have and enjoy them. I don't find the exclusivity thing at all appealing.
hmmm I think that for a person who don't know how custumize, it's a good idea buy a complete doll. Maybe she could do a very limited number of blank dolls. But I question myself if she do it, does people could lose the interest in her complete dolls?
Yes, probably this is the thinking. However, as you say, they are two, different markets. Perhaps it is the thought that, if other people customise them, it takes away some of the specialness of the dolls for those who buy full sets. I don't know. I don't buy full sets and I don't buy to collect, so I don't know what the thinking would be behind those who do.
to me its almost impossible not change the dolls outfit or the face up since it will fade, plus the fact that its not porcelain and the resin gets yellow with time, may not be so fast but one day it will turn yellow. idk i have to agree that these fashion dolls is getting too expensive but i can say that is hard too see dolls with the same quality.
$3,500 is a heck of a lot of money, even though you can tell that the creator puts her whole heart into these dolls! I have been intently studying all her photos and find it interesting that the doll construction is actually pretty simple - single joints in the elbows (flattened inner elbow to allow bending of the arm), no mobility thigh joint, and no ankle joints. I love how natural their faces and bodies are. Their features are very Russian (which is lovely) and their torsos/hips, hands, and feet are beautiful. I don't know if she uses different bodies for different full sets, but to my mind in some of the pictures the doll's head looks a tiny bit too large proportionally speaking (or perhaps aesthetically speaking, since in real people head size varies widely), but it just gives the doll a youthful appearance. If she ever does decide to sell blank dolls for a price more similar to the Popovy dolls, I would want to know! Edited to add: I found this blog post which includes a diagram showing how her dolls are strung. It's interesting! Natalia Loseva dolls: I'm glad you could drop by!
Yes, I would also like to know. I haven't been able to fork out the money that Popovy are asking, as much as like them, but these would probably tip me over the edge if they went up around the $800 mark.
I hope one day the situation will change... and for now I would like to congratulate all women with upcoming Women's Day!
Wonderful thread with beautiful photos of Natalia Loseva's dolls. I am really looking forward to seeing her new works. And if I'm lucky, perhaps I can take a lovely girl by Natalia home in the future. Really love how realistic they are - so human-like. I like how they are full-set - because this how I usually purchase all of my dolls, and I love the artistry of the outfits and make-up.
And it looks as though our nagging has finally paid off. Natalia is preparing to sell blank dolls. As the rules here specify that you can't discuss a doll until it is in production (I think. No idea. I lose track), I am mentioning this as a general piece of news. If you are on Facebook, have a look at her page.
MadamMauMau, I must be looking in the wrong place, I couldn't see anything about blank dolls, only a photo of a sculpt she is working on. Have you been in contact with her?
Have a read of the comments underneath... I have been nagging her for a LONG time about possibly selling a blank line, for customisers. She has, to date, always said no. However, when I raised it again under this post, she replies "Have it your way, then". And she is happy for me to share this news. No date as yet, but she talks about the end of the year for more info on this project.
Ah yes, now I see it, the comments did not load for me the first time! What an exciting venture. I think blank dolls may be expensive as the resin is high quality, but well worth the expense!
They don't need to be. Other artists in that neck of the wood (Russia and Ukraine) can sell resin for a reasonable price. aGatti dolls are $450 (I think), although Triffony dolls are quite a bit more. Depends on what the artist wants to charge, I suppose. Well, I can't tell you how excited I am! I don't use the term "grail doll" lightly, but this is exactly that.
Well, I don't think we should count on "good" price. In any case the price depends both on the brand and the edition limits. Тime will tell. at least 7-8 months to wait
