I do not think I will mod him (for now), but I will definitely be trying different eyes. It sounds like low-dome 10mm are the best size, so I guess I need to start shopping

 

Well SafrinDoll offers eyes with smaller irises, so you could get 12mm with 10mm irises And they're very affordable.

I just discovered this artist and this thread. Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing and exquisite guy you have.

I finally started on my Sumners outfit. It going to be something medieval - maybe viking. I found the pattern for this (just squares) on the net from some re-enactors - they are a wealth of information on clothes that at least look like they did in ancient times. What do you think?

 

Cyador, love the style. The Vikings would have worn coarse wool. Although they did wear blues and greens (in addition to other earth tones), I'm not sure about that vivid tone.

You are right, it looks very intense blue, doesn't it? It is a little more blue/grey in RL. But my camera makes this of it, and if I correct it the oriental skin turned white - not good either.
Doing research - I read somewhere that the later Vikings that traveled a lot liked to wear bling bling - and colours. I chose linnen because it has a structure that looks like a woven wool fabric in that scale. And this was the most conservative linnen colour that I have in the house.) Next time I am able to visit the fabric store I intend to buy grays and browns in linnen and silk.
Though the silk in not for him.

That all said - I should be able to so something medieval inspired. Don't know if I can find all the right thing to make him look a viking

I'm a little confused on how to order one of these boys. I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in the thread but I wasn't able to find anything in the pages I looked through. Does anybody know how I could get my hands on one?

 

You'd have to message Nabarro when they have a a preorder open.

Or haunt the secondhand market.

Nabarro´s doll are limited. Unfortunatly you will only be able to get your hand on those doll on the secondhand marketplace.
No new heads annonced but usually Nabarro post pictures on her flickr when she is about to release a new head. Keep an eyes open :>

 

Yeah, I'm really in love with her Har sculpt but his head is extremely expensive to get second hand because of how limited it is. Maybe some day. I'll definitely keep an eye out for her next release of course.

 

I recently acquired a Nabarro Har (I will be spamming him so much haha), and I've discovered his very small and deep eyewells XD I was wondering if anyone here knew how well 12mm Makoeyes would fit/had a photo? I'm kind of at a loss as to what eyes to get for him tbh.

 

Mako eyes fit but fill up a lot of his eyes. Like 12mm eyes fit, but it also depends how alert you want him to look. I personally prefer AllThatGlittersEyes from Etsy. I posted a little earlier Nabarro’s Boys discussion thread

Ack!! Sorry to gatecrash but I just dropped a message to a uk seller selling my grail!! A sumner in oriental skin!! I've pined for this particular head since I saw him and then when he went up for sale I had to start saving like a madman.

Fingers crossed i can't wait to show him off!

Guys, I'm so excited!!! I will have my very own Sumner soon. I've looked at Nabarros for a few years. I've tried to buy a Sumner head before and someone has always beat me to it. I put up a WTB thread and not 2 days later I got a pm. I am so excited!

I will share pictures! It will be a little bit till he's able to come home, but I will share for sure I hope Nabarro is able to make more heads.

Can someone share a photo of their Sumner with 10mm eyes in, please?

 

I just finished repainting my Yakumo. I decided beforehand to finally open his eyes a little, and I'm so glad I did it!



I love him so much more now that I can finally meet his gaze. I feel like I don't see much of Yakumo anymore -- anybody else here have one?

 

@AlisonVonderland Your Yakumo looks amazing with his eye modification and new faceup i would be too scared to mod mine in case I didn't like it after.

 

Thanks so much @Prinsessen ! I'm so happy with him. If you ever change your mind about modifying Yakumo it's remarkably easy. You can do it with only a little fine sandpaper because the resin is very soft and thin around the eyes.

 

@AlisonVonderland That's good to hear. Mine had to have his eyes fixed at Legend (because the first owner did something to the eyes) before she could apply a faceup so he is already modified around the eyes though I am not sure how much.

I have a generel question for all Yakumo owners: I was wondering what bodies you use for your Yakumo heads? I really want mine to be about 70cm and I have him on a Angelheim Elderheim body, but I think the shoulders are too wide and the color match is way off for this body, but it works until I find something better.

I had the hardest time over the years finding a great match for my Yakumo. The normal resin he was cast in was supposed to match Dollshe fresh color (but I don't have any Dollshe to compare, and I can't remember if he was cast by Dollshe or not). I don't have any Dollmore normal skin at home anymore but my Yakumo used to match some Dollmore parts I had. He might work on their large male body. Right now I am using the Popodoll V1 male body (normal yellow I think, but he's older and second hand) and the color is a little darker but it looks very good to me. See my picture above, I did't bother to blush to match at all. Popodoll of course has some big bodies too. If you could find an Aria Doll normal body that should be a close color match. Aria doll is a very light yellow color. Their Gravity body was their 70cm scale.

I have a Popodoll 70cm body but just in tan. Maybe it is worth it to try Yakumo on that body to see if he would fit.

 

@Prinsessen since his neck hole is kind of small and weird and the proportions have to look right that's probably a good idea. I can't remember having seen someone make a 70cm Yakumo before so I can't offer any more help than that. I feel like most everyone made Yakumo into a smaller boy or a girl.

 

Hi everyone ;w; thrilled that I can finally post in here. Here's a crappy photo of my Har, Albireo. I found him for sale end of last summer, right when the Dollshe 50% sale was beginning XD My friends and me hopped right on that with a group order and now, eight-ish months later, he has his body! Yaaaay!
Right now he's wearing a Leeke Art wig that is such a gorgeous colour but Leeke's cut it horribly : \ I owned this wig once before, years ago, and it was cut fine then. Aside from that he's wearing some spare stuff and I can't find shoes to fit the giant Rhythmos feet, lol.
I'm not too sure on his character yet but I'm thinking of making him a traveller type…when I get some free time from my studies I'll be doing his faceup. I can't wait to get to know everyone's Nabarros Boys :'D

 

I like the body proportions of the Dollshe rhythmos body with your Har. And the wig is wonderful.

 

Thank you So do I. They work really well together. I think there are hybrid photos of this one but I'd be happy to take some more if anyone needs them.

My personal expirence with Leeke's wigs are that they are always horribly cut to start with but are easy to customize to fit my dolls.

 

Thank you! I'm desperate to do a faceup right now lol but I need to wait until I can find some suitable brushes for eyebrow/lower lash hairs. I'm just starting out and trying to get my materials together.
And ooh, okay, that's helpful to know. I might try and have a go at it with a razor comb.

 

I really love all of the Nabarro sculpts! They are all so unique and so interesting. It's the first time I just loved all dolls by the same company/artist, so I am very happy to have them.
It will probably take a long time for all of them to be completed, but I'm so excited to work on them. They are my project for the next long while.

Today Khaos (Yakumo) received his outfit. I think it looks very good on him.

Khaos is my trickster god. Everything he does is just to see what will happen. He introduce a bit of chaos on Earth. He is not evil or good - just curious about how the humans will act and react.

@AlchemicCandy Thanks! I really love this outfit also. It's from Loongsoul (LongYis fullset clothes).
All my gods will probably get Loongsoul outfits because it has a very nice ancient Chinese feel to it and the quality is very nice.

I'm so excited! My Sumner, Christian, is finally on his way home I can't wait to see this gorgeous boy in person. His wig should be shipping out soon to.

He'll be a blonde haired, blue eyed lovely boy He'll have a casual/sporty style.

Christian arrived today, but has some chipping on his body So disappointed! His head is okay, which I'm very thankful for. Still sad though.
