Hello!
I finally caved and bought a Silvia 30cm from JunkySpot. She is GORGEOUS. I'm impatiently waiting for her wig and some clothes to arrive before taking pictures of her. I didn't expect her to be so pretty.

I am still waiting for my 1/6 bjd Myou Silvia to come back with her AngelToast faceup/body blushing, so my main girl Doudou gets to model a new romper I made. I adapted a dress pattern from Tirin and Katten and used Liberty Floral Picnic Blue fabric. The 1/6 Myou dolls do need extra width for their larger hips!

 

Can't wait to see your Silvia, @kasandora! I'm sure she's going to look absolutely gorgeous.

@Therese52 Those MYOU 30cm hips...can't live with them, can't live without them. Kudos to you for adapting the pattern, I really admire people who have the patience to sew unique styles.


I recently upgraded to a new camera and took Gemini out with me for some photos:



I bought her secondhand in Normal Yellow resin and the yellowing is really starting to get to me. I've been thinking about reshelling her in Normal Pink, but am kind of on the fence regarding if I want to spend the money on it. Gemini is likely my favorite doll, though, and I really want to preserve the image I have for her.

 

Her wig finally arrived! Here is my 30cm Silvia. I haven't figured out her name yet. Maybe I'll figure it out by the time I can do a proper photoshoot with her.

 

Great photo of Gemini! Your new camera is doing it's job. All of my Myou dolls are in Normal Pink skin so I cannot compare the other resin colors.

 

Your Silvia is precious! I hope that my Silvia comes home soon.

 

I just got my Rourou, whose name is Tomu... 叶夢 （とむ）and they’re really cute. This is an image comparison to Lati Yellow and PukiFee— Tom’s the tallest but not the biggest face.

I think they could wear Lati clothes! If it’s a dress, it’ll just be short... but pants/ trousers could be an issue?

The Myou dolls are sturdy, adorable and hard to resist! Here is a photo of my Myou 30cm. Doudou to help with your waiting time. I am also waiting for my Silvia to complete her custom faceup and body blushing. I just sent my other Doudou off to AngelToast for her spa updates as well. At least we have the anticipation involved with what they will look like when they return.

Thanks! I try to make doll clothes with bold colorful prints and enhance the fabric with embellishments. Liberty of London Tana Lawn fabric is one of my favorites.

Myou 30cm Doudou in a new Ballet dress I made. I just ordered Myou 30cm. Nina as well. So hard to resist the Myou dolls!

 

I love that dress!! I'm thinking about picking up a Doudou....my husband probably wouldn't be too happy if I did.....but they're only on sale for a few more days so that should make it OK, right?

 

It's been a while since I last had a YoSD (the doll in my avatar was rehomed a while back).
Is it easier to find clothes for a 27 cm body rather than a 30 cm MYou doll?

 

Looking at the measurements for the two bodies, there isn't a ton of difference. I think the biggest problem is the hips. The 30cm body has some pretty big hips....though if the doll will be wearing dresses, that isn't too big of a deal. My 30cm is currently wearing a Honey Delf outfit and it fits her pretty well.

 

I think that you should go for it! You can never have enough dolls.

Hello! Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I wanted to know how well the 1/6 dolls stand on their own. I've seen lots of people displaying them on stands.

 

My Silvia stands very well in shoes. I haven't tried her barefoot.

 

@animatedash My Silvia stands perfectly well barefoot, even in some relatively dynamic poses. I wouldn't do it indefinitely -- seated or able to lean against something is probably safer long-term -- but she's pretty stable.

A suggestion on sewing for these little ones -- I'm working on a romper using a Pixiefaire American Girl pattern, printed at 50% scale so it fits the bust measurements. I'm adding 1.5cm to the waist, though, because my mockup came out a little bit short through the torso. It's loose enough over the hips that I'm not too concerned about the fit there, but I'll modify this post if I have problems. An American Girl sized shirt pattern printed at 50% (and very likely a dress printed at 50% as long as the skirt isn't too fitted) looks like it'll fit a 30cm body beautifully. Knocks the seam allowance down to 1/8" in the pattern, but that's manageable if you're careful and fray-check everything.

 

I have also been adapting patterns for my Myou 30cm girls. I used a new Trentsation pattern for the Meadow Dumpling dolls. I had to lengthen the Top's Length and the bloomer's torso by adding 3/4" to the bloomer's waistband top. The neck also had to be widened.

Here is 30cm Doudou wearing the modified Top and Bloomers. I still need to enlarge the neckline a bit.

 

Hey all! I'm currently thinking about buying a 30cm Delia, since I am in love with the body and head sculpt! However, I want her to be pals with my other YoSD who has a more traditionally sized head that fits 6/7 wigs. The height difference is fine to me, but I am worried about Delia's head looking gigantic next to my other girl. Does anyone have any photos of their doll (doesn't have to be Delia) next to a more traditionally sized YoSD?

 

Can anyone compare the posing abilities of a Myou 30cm body vs iMda 3.0? I'm considering trying a hybrid of an iMda Colette on a Myou body. Thank you!

 

I have Myou 30cm dolls and Imda 3.0 dolls. I use doll stands for both but the Myou dolls are much better at posing! The Myou 30cm dolls can stand on their own and their limbs can hold positions much better. I love the look of the Imda 3.0 dolls but their long arms are very difficult to position.

 

My Myou Silvia 30cm just arrived after her AngelToast Faceup and body blushing. I dressed her in a lovely outfit and sparkling wings from amazing Etsy sellers. She looks like an Elf-Fairy in Wonderland!

Thanks! I do have to modify most patterns to allow for the wider hips on the Imda and Myou dolls. My Myou 30cm. dolls are all in Pink skin.

Does anyone own 30cm Xiaobuding? I've only been able to find one other owner on instagram. I've googled him and tried to find more pictures but he seems unpopular.

 

My Xiaobuding arrived. He doesn't have any proper clothes or a wig yet, so he is dressed up as a girl for now haha

Yes, it the company faceup. I pulled the eyelashes off because they were so long they looked like spider legs across the face. The eyes are also from the company.

 

I didn't even notice the eyelashes were gone He looks so sweet and innocent.

yay - Just got shipment notification for my Myou tinies - Feng Linger and Dudu. Can't wait for these little ones to join my group. They're already named Fern and Quill and I have plans for them to be little elf like gardener and writer.

Are the myou 1/8 and 1/6 bodies double jointed or no? I really like my peanut joints, but the sculpting is so pretty on these dolls... Every time I see owner pics I fall in love again!

 

@Beedalee I believe all MYou bodies are double jointed!

In other news...I recently ordered a brand new Lorina to reshell Gemini into. The 'Normal Skin' has yellowed so much over the years and her poor body has endured quite a few scratches. I'm really excited to reshell her into a 'Normal Pink' body, just hoping her original faceup artist will still be around to work on Gemini v2.0.

@NekoNyanMew Really? Even their knees? I know the 1/4 bodies are DJ (also love!!) but I feel like I don't see anyone pose the 1/6 or 1/8 myous in the kneeling position or touching their faces, so I wasn't sure if those round ball joints allowed for it at the smaller size..

Your Gemini is an absolute darling, btw!! I love the little longer tufts of hair framing her sweet face

 

Upon further inspection...you might be right. The round ball joints seem to have the mechanism for double-jointedness, which is probably why I got confused. But as I try to pose the doll in more double jointed positions, there's not much there to actually hold it in place.

I feel like it's pseudo double-jointed.

 

Ahhh, so it's like that! I knew it! I suspect that if they were wired they'd totally hold 'double-jointed-esque' poses fine (at least in the arms) since the balljoint doesn't really stop you from moving them that far, right? It just doesn't like... hold the arm/leg in place by itself, either? Too round, not enough peanut shape. As you said... "pseudo-double-jointed!" It could still tempt me, maybe... The bodies are sooo gosh darn cute.

@nancy_schroeder_ca Ah, yes!! I knew the 27cm bodies were DJ, thank you though! I was wondering about the (newer?) 30cm bodies (and the 17cm bodies) which seemed to have more rounded looking ball joints than the 27cm body so I thought they may have lost some mobility in place of aesthetics. I'm sorry for not being clearer before!

@Therese52 She is absolutely darling!! Wow! Those eyes are so beautiful.

 

I just could not adjust to Nina's black mouth coloring, so I softened the line myself. I think that she looks much better now with her modified mouth and a new wig color. Today she starts her modeling duties and it looks like she is a natural.

 

Oh! I forgot that I'd taken a comparison photo of MyouDoll's 1/8th dolls in comparison to Lati Yellow and PukiFees. ^^

Hello! I did a bad thing and ordered an insta doll from JunkySpot! She's on her way to me and will be arriving soon. I ordered a Delia on the 30cm body. I adore the pear body and can't wait to start sewing pretty little outfits for her. Her name is Ingrid and she's a little witch. I have so many plans for her. She's coming with a faceup and I might wipe it. I'm not sure yet. It depends on how I feel about her default. Myou does beautiful faceups, but I feel they can be hit or miss. My Matcha's faceup was a hit for her character but I'll have to wait and see. Does anyone have a Delia to share? Most of what I've been able to find is the 1/4 version.

My 1/8 Rourou. The tinies have bigger heads now. My Taotao wears a size 4 wig.

 

Oh! Has anyone decided to get the mature tiny dolls? (27.8cm right? And 28.8cm boy)
