Body Comparison Myou Doll comparisons (body/ colour/ hybrid)

As there isn't a lot about Myou dolls yet I thought I'd take a few photos while having a short out. I'm sorry the photos aren't that great, the light levels were constantly changing and the focus on my camera has started to have issues.

Size comparison between Myou 1/3 male body, 1/4 body and 30cm girl body (with Angell Studio Leira head in translucent milk as closest sized head I had to the 30cm heads)

Both the 1/3 and 1/4 are double jointed and are the best posers out of my collection. The 30cm is single jointed and has the limited posing that comes with that. The 1/3 & 1/4 body have long legs so that may be a problem with trouser fitting. The 1/3 male body is also a little large in the chest area so that's a measurement to watch out for.

Paint matches-

Myou white skin- Vallejo Model Colour 'Ivory' (Hueso 70.918) is a very good match.
Myou normal skin- Vellejo Model Colour 'Pale Sand' (Arena Clara 70.837) is a close match, it is a touch darker so might need a drop or two of Ivory to get a better match. (The headcap looks a little pinker in the photo, with naked eye the head cap looks more peachy like the paint colour).

Luoye company face-up on white skin and normal skin


Full set clothing. The set is made by HZ-BJD (Heisejinyao) so is the great quality you get from that company.



Full set shoes, I found the soles on these are curved which tends to tip the doll forward so it's extremely difficult to stand him in the shoes.


However regular HZ-BJD (Heisejinyao) 1/3 sized clothing is too small, especially across the shoulders and chest.


Doll Legend 1/3 male hands in white resin are a good match and fit for 1/3 Myou male body in white resin (jointed hand on left, original Myou hand on right)-

Migidoll 1/3 head (ns) on Myou 1/3 male body (ns)-

Migidoll Ell head normal skin on 1/3 normal skin Myou male body. The fit is very good and the head moves normally. Sadly the resin colour doesn't match, Migidoll is much darker. However as the colours aren't too dissimilar it may be possible to blush the neck/hands of the Myou doll to match if most of the body is going to be covered up by clothing. Unfortunately I don't have Migidoll white to compare to Myou see if they might be close.

Myou necks are on the large side. The 1/4 male body neck is 10.5cm which also matches Migidoll so the head fit was fine. However, I treid a 1/3 Dikadoll head with a neck of 10cm and it was too small to go on the neck. It looks like the Myou neck would need sanding down if you wanted to put a 10cm head on it.

 

Hybriding heads on 1/4 girl body-


Doll Family H 'Wen Xin' head (ws).Fit and movement is very good.


Doll Love 'Alina' head (ws).Fit and movement is very good.


Mystic Kids 'Francis' head (ws). Movement is good but the fit is a bit tight so would need slight adjustment. This head intended for the male body so heads for the female body might be a bit smaller needing more adjustment.


Angell Studio 'Leira' head (tm). Fit and movement is overall good, however as neck does not sit deep enough in head hole, the top of neck juts out when head is tilted to its maximum.


Dika doll 'AAA' head (ws). Fit and movement is passable but head is a touch small and top of neck juts out when head is tilted to its maximum.


Luts 'Kiwi' head (ns -made before 2014). Is a very good fit, like the Dikadoll the corner of the neck starts to show a little when the head is tilted all the way to the side.


Spritidoll 'Snowdrop' head (ns). Head is a little too small and neck does not sit deep enough in head hole.


Telesthesia & Dragon 'Xun Yi Cao' head (PS early 2017). I had already done some adjustment to the head to improve the movement range on it's original body. With the adjustment the head fits the Myou neck well, but I don't know how well it fitted before the adjustment.


Angel Fantasy 'Alice' head (ws). Too small.


Doll Legend head 'You Shang' (imw). Far too small!

(Not pictured) Magic Time head 'Rachel'. Far too small to fit on neck.

Overall the Myou 1/4 girl neck tends to be a little bit large and also needs to sit more deeply in the head hole than most heads allow so would would most likely need sanding to work to improve these issues.

1. Dikadoll white 2017 (not a match- is a little pinker)- Dika pure white is a pure white so also not a match when fresh, however both Dika's whites yellow so older pieces may match)

To sum up-
Companies that have yellow toned white skins so are good matches-
Doll Love, Sugarble, Mystic Kids, Angel of Dream, Souldoll (Magic Time and Fairyland but their MSD dolls are smaller so parts may not be compatible. Fairyland heads can made to fit with making a neck adapter)

Companies that have pink or peach toned whites that won't match so well are-
IOS, Luts, Angell Studio, Loong Soul, Doll Legend, Akagi Doll, Doll Family H, Migidoll, Dikadoll, Angel Fantasy

Companies that have paper white skin-
Dikadoll, Resinsoul

(Left) Loong Soul yellow (right) Myou normal- a close match.


(Head) Mystic Kids new normal (body) Myou normal- a good match.


Luts normal from before 2014- has mellowed enough that the colour is reasonably close.

To sum up- Loong Soul yellow and Mystic Kids new normal are close matches. Older Luts real skin normal also looks quite close. It looks a bit lighter to my naked eye but looks noticeably pinker in photos (so either my eye isn't picking up reds well or my camera is picking up red too well XD)

Yes I can take some photos, is there anything in particular you want to see? The 1/4 girl body I have is a solid poser, stands and sits well and I like her a lot. The company face-up is nicely done too. The only problem I had was that the corners of the elbow peanut were a bit too high which stopped the arm from folding fully. But a bit of work with the craft knife and sandpaper sorted that out The other thing i've noticed is the head doesn't tip back very far I need to take a look to see if that can be improved on.

Thank you, I hope the photos can be of some use to others. Sadly I don't own dolls from either of those companies so can't say. Maybe someone else out there has those dolls to be able to compare?

 

I've sold the Spiritdoll body but from memory I think they were of a similar height, both being quite tall but had different proportions. While the Myou's height was mostly made up of the long legs, the Spiritdoll had a longer neck and body.

(Please excuse her right eyelashes being loose, I usually have them removed as the character wears an eyepatch on that eye). Personally I think the face-up in real life is nicer than what's shown in the promo picture.
The thing I like about her is that she is a very good at standing and has a nice body shape/ proportions. While she has the thigh swivel, the thigh piece is long so can't pop out like on the Myou doll, combined with the lack of a lower body joint means sitting poses are more limited.
She also lacks a little detailing on the body, though once clothed it's not an issue. The only place it might be noticeable is that the palms of the hands are smooth and don't have an details. Aside from this, the hands do have a nice shape

 

That was part of it but I had other things I disliked about the doll. My main issue is the doll can't stand, and for my human dolls, being able to stand is a must. Even with tightening the elastic, hot glue sueding and big boots, the weight distribution meant she would fall over most of the time. There was some other stuff such as I wasn't keen on the resin colour. I was expecting to look pale like the promo photos but it's quite dark. It's not horrible or anything, just not too my taste. I also have to agree with other's who also say the new hand shape isn't great, they're a bit wicked witch looking (on the plus side, the nail detail is nice). So while the doll had really good posablity, it didn't really click with me.

Left row- Dika pure white. Middle- Loongsoul white. Right- Dika white

Dika white has a lot more colour than Loongsoul white so doesn't match. Loongsoul white is closer to Dika pure white, however Loongsoul white has a bit more colour in comparison (Dika pure white is paper white).

Top- Dika pure white. Bottom- Loongsoul white

If you're not terribly picky about resin match then it's a possibility. If the head is Dika pure white on a Loongsoul white body then a little colour can be added with the face blushing to match so that would be the best combination

Unfortunately I don't have a Mystic Kids head at the moment though from memory the sizes weren't too dissimilar. I see that someone has been able to show a pic in the Myou discussion thread so hopefully you have a better idea of how they compare

 

I found my MNF flam head fit on the myou v1 body without much issue but I don't have an Unoa head so don't know about that one. Magic Time heads are very small for MSDs, they're closer in size to YOSD heads so that's why they don't fit on more standard sized MSD bodies.

The closest hands in size I have in my collection from companies that sell separate hands are Angell Studio hands. The butter colour is the closest to Myou NS though there is a bit of colour difference with the AS resin being a bit more yellow with a richer coloir. While the sizing and overall fit is good, the wrist balls on the AS hands don't fit the Myou wrist joint exactly so it causes there to be limited movement in the wrist. There my be room to modify the wrist ball by sanding it to improve the fit, though I've not had a chance to try that yet.
Out of other doll companies I have or seen, I can confirm that Magic Time, Loong Soul and Fairyland hands are too small. Doll Family H, Dika and Doll Legend are too big.
