My very first face up try (thoughts and crits)

Mar 18, 2013

    1. Hi, I'm brand new to DoA and I wanted to show my very first face up complete after a few trial and errors. Please tell me what ya'll think and it's done for a ResinSoul Yao.
This is a comparison photo with her head cap. Sorry if the pictures suck

And here are others with just her head showing off the face

Thank you for checking this out and I would like critiques and just thoughts. This is my very first face up completely finished, I am incredibly happy with it but I know I can improve as well. So again thank you for checking this forum out.

    2. The lips look very nice! and I like the freckles.

The eyebrows are pretty uneven and heavy though. Did you only use paint? It might be easier to do them with a layer of pastel to get the shape down, then adding hair-lines with a finer paintbrush, or even a water color pencil.
The only other thing I see is the eyeliner usually doesn't extend all the way to the crease of the eye like that (unless you wanted it like that ;) ). Usually it would be on the inside of the top eyelid, and a the eyelid crease and eyeshadow would be blushed separately. :)

    3. I know about the eye brows I got the shape of them down at first, but when I started to softly line them with a water color pencil I didn't notice till afterwards that they were uneven. Thanks for the advice on that though. When I try again I will make sure to remember that, and the eyeliner (or shadow) was just for design. I like it with the acrylic and under it you cant see unless up close (or better quality) there is brown under is before I painted over. But again thank you for that useful info! I will make sure I remember that when I try again in the future. : )

Edit: Thank you on commenting her lips and freckles, I really was super proud of those small bits. o // w // o

    4. It looks really great! The eyebrows are really the only thing I noticed. And maybe thinning the eyeshadow a little bit and using a lighter tint to highlight the eyelid ( i hope that makes sense). The lips look excellent and I love the freckles!
