Hi. Here is my ongoing bjd project. She is my second one sort of, the first one I did I used polymer clay and I then ran into problems with it. So I decided to use another type of clay, air dry clay, and start with a new one to see if it whould work out better. And I think it did. She is about 40 cm tall. Please tell me what you think of her so far http://www.tinavonwiesen.com/MYDOLL/0_1small.jpg http://www.tinavonwiesen.com/MYDOLL/0_2_small.jpg http://www.tinavonwiesen.com/MYDOLL/0_3_small.jpg http://www.tinavonwiesen.com/MYDOLL/0_4_small.jpg
Adorable! It never ceases to amaze me how skilled many people are. Are you creating her just for youself, or are you thinking of putting her for sale, like many do?
Thank you!! It whould be really nice if I could cast her in resin, but it will probably take a long time since it cost a lot of money to get all the materials. But hopefully sometimes in the future...
Looking great! Can't wait to see her finished. Once she's smooth, I think she'll look professional:smile:
Lovely! I can't wait to see her all finished, she looks awesome! I think the airdry clays are so beautiful. They have a delicate otherworldly quality that polymer just doesn't have. I think they typically are closer to resin in appearance than polymer too.
Yesterday I sanded her a lot so she looks more soft now, but she still neds more sanding...Thanks for the nice comments everyone ! batchix Thank you so much! Yes the air dry clay do have another look than the polymer and feels soft as well. Bunnii Thank you! Hopefully soon she will get her arms.
she's so amazing! I really like how the body is sculpted, it looks really professional and realistic. Her face looks really sweet, too can't wait to see more!
Wow, she looks like she's going to be really lovely!! I'm always amazed by those of you who decide to sculpt your own dolls.
Thank you so much! I´m happy you like her. I´m making her feet and hands now... soon she will be finished...yaaay.
Finally I have made her arms, feet and one hand,(working on her other hand at the moment) they still need to be refined a lot and sanded. I also test stringed her today and was happy to see that she can stand on her own.
Thanks!!!! I used premier clay, I found it to be nice to work with, I highly recommend it! *giggles* The things at her ankles are not supposed to be there I just put a wire trough some holes in her joint were the s-hooks is attached. Then I just secured the wire with some clay, so it lookes a bit strange...
WOW she looks great Is the air dry clay easier to sand than polymer clay? Does it have a grainy surface? My local hobby store carries one called Das Pronto .. anyone ever used that? Kaye
Thanks! I find premier clay a lot easier to sand than polymer clay, you can get it really smooth! It´s also easier to carve. For me it works great anyway. I think Das Pronto shrinks alot when it dries, and its not as great as premier in my opinion , but than again I have not worked with it so so much and it is ages ago too. Anyone else have opinions about that clay??
What a lovely job! Excellent balance! I'm currently working on the torso for my Milo, and am struggling with convincing me that it's not too big/small compared to the head. I'm also using premeir and just regular La Doll. ^^ I hope my balance turns out nearly as well as yours. That's an interesting approach to the pelvis, too...
Hi! I just wanted to say that my doll is still alive . I have just not been able to work that much on her as I whould like, so the progress is going slowly I took some photos of her today, her hands got broken so I have to make her new ones ( thats why she is not wearing any hands in the pictures I really hope that I could cast her and such but with my luck that does not seem to be happening since I dont know how the get the equipment I´d like. But I´m not given up on her yet .
wow she looks amazing!!! I love her face and her full lips! you've done such an excellent job, I can't wait to see her fully completed!
Shes amazing! I can't wait to see her completed and with a face up! People who make their own BJDs are quite admirable.
cloudymoonx: Thank you so much , I really want to give her a face up soon, I have so many ideas but I have to wait until she is finished....I wish she was finished now! Tammy_m.

I sooo wish I could sculpt! She is adorable...I can't wait to see her all finished and painted...fabulous!
Damn girl, you have done some /awesome/ work. ESPECIALLY that torso, I simply admire that. Give me some tips would ya? XD
She is just beautiful The body sculpt is so delicate and curvy and the proportions are perfection. I would love to see what this doll looks like in resin with a faceup. You must just stare at her all the time thinking "I made her! Me! I made that amazing little doll." Okay- that's what I would do
~Alyosha~: Thank you very much!! Eum let´s see... my tip whould be to study as much as possible and also don´t give up. fairy@changelingchildren: Aw, Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Yes I am proud of her, she has taking me forever to do and many errors on the way...she is not perfect but I like her. And I´m happy other people like her too batchix : Thank you !! I have seen your lovely work, you are very talented!
Just thought I'd let you know that those links no longer work, so I can't see what your doll looks like. ^_^;

Excellent!! Wow she's pretty! Those hands are amazing I hope you'll post pictures when she's all done, too.
