Hello! I started working on my own doll. It's a lot of fun and it's quite educative. I've only got the body so far but I'm very excited about it! And just to give an idea of the size, here it is compared to my hand: Oh yeah, don't ask about the marble color... That's what the clay looks like. Coming soon: the head! hehe
Ok, now it's time to show that little head! I'm sorry, I know the photos are blurry. ops: The clay I used was horribly bad, so I'll have to cast it. So the next step is the mold!
What a cute smiley baby face, and adorable little baby tummy & sweet li'l [gets carted off, drooling] More, please. Ann in CT
The body is adorable, but to me the head looks a bit big compared to the body. The body looks really good!
Thanks a lot! I'm currently in the step of molding. I hate it, no kidding! Anyone knows a good molder? In Canada if possible?
Jenn, I love this - she is going to be so very sweet to hold. I love the size you picked and the stylized chubby baby looks. best of luck with the molding - but I hope you will go ahead and put eyes into your original and string her as is too - i would really love to see how she looks all together... take care patl
Oh crap! I killed her. The molding went ok but I screwed up with the casting. Unfortunately, nothing could be saved. Just too bad, I'll do better next time.
I miscalculated the amount of catalist(?), which wasn't enough for the amount of resin. So when I opened the mold, a weird paste came out to prove me it didn't harden enough. And what did harden was glued for good on the mold (although I did make sure it would be as slippery as fresh ice). So the mold can't be saved either. My mother, who obviously didn't like the smell of my doll when I opened the mold (it's already toxic, but when concentrated it's really awful), made the whole thing disappear while I was still questioning myself about it. On a way, I thank her for doing so. I never had much talent for molding, but since the mold was done, I thought it would be ok. But that's fine. It's another chapter in my life experience. Like I said, I'll do better next time.
