My mom is an artist and we are starting a BJD company together, as there is no Canadian company. This is my first attempt at a doll. Fortunately, she is more skilled than I in sculpting *giggle*.. We are having alot of fun creating. She wants to keep her dolls secret for when she releases them. But I am going to share mine. I haven't named them yet. One is very chubby because I used styrafoam core and it was too difficult to cut smaller. They are both 10-11 inch tall. My second girl is thinner and I used aluminum foil core. They are VERy rough right now, they haven't been sanded or carved or anything.. just clay shaped with my fingers right now. Their faces also have only had finger shaping, and im sure will be far different. But I felt like sharing anyway. They also have no hands yet, and my chubby girl only has blocks of unsculpted feet with no toes. heehee.. Here are my pics! I hope you like them.
hmm...its a great start however, the features seem a bit too small and too close together on the face. Good luck with finnishing them ^^ i look foreward to seeing your progress
I have some new photos, I've changed the head of my girl alot and, did some sanding. It's not finished but getting closer. Hehe, my cats helping me work
haha thats so weird I didn't even notice that. LOL. I'm sure they won't have 6 fingers when they are done hehe
Many, many things to say! The set of tools near the center of your table- I bought those too! You use sculpey? For what? I didn't see the package for the paperclay- your dolls are made of paperclay right? I printed off the same tut! XD Then again, I have an orange envelope full of the things I need (direction wise- all printed out). I have that same phone. XD I am envious of both the kitties and the amoutn of foam you have. I can't find ANY around here. ; ; Lastly... Your doll is coming out quite nicely! You should create a blog for it. ^_^
Hehe thanks everyone. Keanna thats funny you have so many of thee same things. I got the foam at micheals, have you checked there? I bought the sculpey incase i decide to make another doll out of it. I took the photo when I just ran out of paperclay. But now i have more packs. hehe!
Oh! I love her new mouth. That's incredibly appealing. Very pretty indeed! And your cats : ) Isn't it hilarious how many of us have pictures of our cats with our dolls!
