IT takes HELA long to wait for the clay to Dry.... P.S: Since i don't really care much about the ACTUAL doll head size.. i made up my own size... Go with the Flow ya kno... well.. i started on MARch 10, 2006.. so lets see how long it takes me. ^^ Here's what i have so far.. Covered with Clay ::: 3-11-06 - waiting for head to dry.. sitting infront of heater... the head circ. is 9.5 In. i think... big huh? carved head and cheking or editing ::: 3-12-06 right eyes need SERIOUS editing.
3-12-06 Ok.. finished.. one comment from me... "THis is the Freaki-ish looking piece of... *COUHG COUGH* ever... " hahahhahahahhaha ok.. FAILED! Reason for failing.. is mainly cuz of materials.. Wrong clay.. wrong paint.. ok.. i learned my lesson... srry for scaring you guys.. hm.. forgot the ears.. ahhahaha Head: WTH have you made me into?
lol~ dont be too hard on yourself. Thats already alot better than what i can do (im too afraid to even try XD) the best thing to do would be to study the shape of a head. Right now your sculpt looks really round, and lacks alot of definition. I read in your sig that you bought Ani. A good idea would be (when she arrives) to base your sculpt off of her own~ it will be good practice not only in making a head, but it will be easier to paint on something "cloned" from the original~
I think the head is a little too round... but then the Leeke dolls heads are reaaaally round too. I learned to sculpt by reading this book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/08...ref=sr_1_1/102-2151921-6227306?_encoding=UTF8 It's really really helpful, I've been following this artist's work since she first started publishing her sculpey face molds and instructions. :3 She has some super easy breakdowns of how to sculpt things and how to check for problems AND how to fix them when they occur! also... I never ever make the ears on the first sculpt. X3 I wait till I get the rest of the face done because they're so easy to break off! My first guy tho... he never got ears either. ._.;;; I failed with him! XD
