Lately I started re-reading my favorite YA novels. That inspired me to style my doll as the characters in the book but I have never had a doll based on specific character before. I am styling two of my dolls as Sabriel and Lirael from the Old Kingdom trilogy by Garth Nix. My references are Japanese covers of those books Photos: メルカリ and https://www.amazon.co.jp/古王国記シリーズ-全巻6冊セット★サブリエル-冥界の扉/ライラエル-氷の迷宮/アブホーセン-聖賢の絆★主婦の友社/dp/B0DGC7S8G3 Here is Nakana Workshop Sisca in Light White. I'm glad I got a great excuse to buy this head. lol She is going to be Lirael from the Old Kingdom trilogy. First layer (only pastel) This is my Yvonne (I named her Yselde, from Frogkisser by Garth Nix... but none of my dolls have one concrete character) I am styling her as Sabriel. I drafted brows and the charter mark on top of her existing faceup. I think it took me about an hour to style this wig. I bought the same wig as Lirael's, cut it short, then it became bombastic, I used $5 mini hair iron I bought at Target in the past to style. She is in Normal skin which yellowed a lot in last three years. I am temped to get her in Light White. But NS is more like the portrait on the Japanese cover. Besides I am broke as always so she is going to be Sabriel for a while. ===================== Today I received an outfit for my only male doll. I love it and....it appears like I intentionally created King Touchstone, too. I am going to look into his wig now.
Oh my god, I LOVED the old kingdom series growing up!!! This makes me want to break out my books and do a big re read. Sabriel’s charter mark looks amazing, and Liriel’s faceup is coming along lovely!!!
@Chameleon You should! I find it just as good. Maybe even better since I understand relationships better than I did as a kid. lol For the charter, this is the underlayer and I'm thinking about make it glow with mica so it won't appear as a scar.
Oooh I love the Old Kingdom books! I look forward to seeing the whole process for them! They looks great so far!
Amazing! The old kingdom is my favorite series, near and dear to my heart. I would be so eager to see them both finished !!
The clothes I ordered for my Ebi Doll Ayden arrived. I love it. I might have unintentionally created King Touchstonelol
