Aesthetics My Faceup Progress

Mar 2, 2019

    1. So I figured I will share my progress here and will try to update it as soon as I do something new.
So ill start with my most current faceups for now I guess. I gotta admit, I do struggle quite a bit with eyelashes. Can't really figure out how to make them more uniform without making it look too much.

I tried to give her a soft look here with peachy lips. And also gave her nose piercing and earrings, using E6000.

This was my attempt to give her matte lips and smoky eyes. Still struggled with the lips quite a bit, it's super hard for me to get in the crevice in the middle.

Went for a glam look with pink lips. And again struggled with the lips.

Any pointers would be appreciated :kitty2

    2. These are some previous faceups I did. Just before I did these. I couldnt improve for the longest time (I started doing faceups on my own dolls in summer 2017). These are from January.

So basically I switched my technique and now I use paint for the lashes instead of pencils and spend way more time on the eyeliner. So I feel that brought a major improvement.

    3. I just did my first faceup and won't be attempting another for awhile so I can't give good advice, but I think yours look great!!

Eyelashes I think look pretty good, I turned my head upside down to do eyelashes but still couldn't get straight, clean lines. Do you use pencil or paint? The first one looks like pencil but I'm not sure the other ones. I'm going to buy gouache for my next faceup so i can erase mistakes & try to paint eyelashes & eyebrows instead.
I really like your eye creases as well^^

I struggled with the lips as well, so I'm curious to see what others will say.

    4. @Maipoxx Oh I actually used gouache on all of the pictured in the first post :) Since its gouache, I added maybe too much water so it's not very pigmented. And thank you!

    5. I really like your work, the last one in particular is gorgeous, what did you use for the gold eyeshadow?. My only advice as a non professional would be to use a cool brown to contour the temples, hair line, sides of nose, under the cheek bones and a tiny bit under the bottom lip. This is everywhere I would contour when doing make up, it sounds like a lot but your work is really nice as it is, it is only what I would add

    6. @Graciejaney Thank you for your kind words :) I only use light pink to contour, I feel like if I start using brown it'll turn dirty and muddy, so I've been avoiding it, but I might try it one day. And golden eyeshadow is slightly damp pearlex and then gloss on top to make it shiny.

    7. I love the eyelashes in the last pic you just posted! & awesome(I was actually going to ask how you got them to look not so harsh,.. mine are like pitch black lol) I can't wait to have gouache to use instead^^
Can't wait to see more of your work :3

    8. @Maipoxx Welp everything I've learned about the paint and the consistency of it comes from this video

And the brush she is using is also pretty great. In the second post on the very last picture I've used a cheap nail art brush, that was not thin enough or flexible enough, and on all of the pictures in the first post I've used that brush, Liner Brush 7350-18/0 La Corneille, it works really well, and you can get it on amazon with free shipping.

    9. although they are not my personal style, I think your faceups turned out beautifully! your line-work is very precise and I love your use of glitter.
