hiya, here's a few shots of my dolls inspired by noahs tutorials. i've done many photoshoots with them and even some stop animation video. much of this is on my website which is having a glitch right now and i just traced the problem to my domain host being in new orleans~ here's the other entrance to my site http://www.magikglasses.com/cannibol/abodream/index.htm so i'll share a few today. amanda and chittlin' my workshop chittlin' with her dress along with my teapot in progress my first doll shiva i recommend a versatile product called magicsculp, an epoxy clay air dries to great strength. there are some questions about the health risks of polymer clays as sculpey, i think they are banned in europe now. i start with a core of foil or napkins and goop on scuplt-a-mold, a powdered stuff that you add water and it feels like tuna salad. then when that dries i finish with a skin of magicsculp.
Beautiful. I think I remember seeing your dolls on the altsy ball joint community (LJ). They're really enchanting.. a little haunting. Not in a bad way though. It's hard to look away from them, you just don't want to, you know? Ahh, plus it's a Frida-esque picture in the background. One of those multi-talented people, eh? What did you use to paint Amanda and Chittlin' (it's a great name)? Did you glaze them before or after? Ask ask ask I do.
thang-q! i painted them with acrylic and then finished them with a crackle glaze for an antique effect. she was named chittlin to represent a local musician for a stop animation video that never happened. amanda is in her video for the boston band dresden dolls.
It's nice to see you on here, Vince!! I love the way your dolls combine an antique look with modern BJD influences . . . I'm glad to get a better look at them :> -- Andi (an admirer of your work on DeviantArt)
ah, cool! thankya! all the original asian BJD's had a nice vintage flavor going. and are very artistic at photographing.
Wow, thats really cool! I love dresden dolls! I went to a concert of theres and was blown away! You must be really proud! *jen
