My Dolling HeeAh by Mi Jung Gu Mini Discussion Part 1

Los Angeles is pretty good at updating each move but I have noticed that San Francisco and Chicago are not as consistent. I don't have many tracked packages go through New York.

 

Right now HeeAh is going to be an only child! If I do get another BJD I will buy from someone in the USA and avoid the customs. Honestly this was the first time a package didn't track within a day of getting there, so I guess I've been lucky.

 

Is the barcode on the label in good shape? If it is damaged, it might not scan easily.

I know I LOVE this wig and it has No name inside, just 6-7" -- I have been searching for one like it all over and not finding anything.

It feels like real mohair tho is all I can say. It could be synthetic but I don't know how to tell. It has some short pieces at the top almost like it was a shag type wig originally? I can take some photos of it and the inside if you want me to. It's full elastic and fits her pretty good, if anything a tad big I had to put the velcro to hold it on. I can't even remember where I bought it from, but some doll/blythe group maybe? I wish I could tell you because I would get another too!

I'm selling one of my zaolls and the character it had I'm giving to my heeah basically giving my character a new "shell" sortof?

I love Andromeda the sci-fi series!

 

Ohhh duh, now I understand! I am not in the loop with the character thingy... I have no characters for my dolls, they are just dolls... ahaha... but Fontaine is my beach girl, so perhaps she will have a story come about this summer time!

Where do people post their stories about their dolls?

I haven't watched that series, but I love SciFi channel!

 

I dont have a character but I like giving thema a story and a like and a dislikes. I find it easier to talk about them with other people
Its an old one form like to 80s but I liked the new short one made like 2006 or something

Did everyone elses Heeah come with a Kip??

 

Mine has them in her shoulders and then I think it's maybe a little piece of moleskin in the legs. I am having a little bit of trouble standing her... I think she needs more in the legs, I will have to do a little hot glue there.

 

So I set up at a yard sale today and this girl I know had some porcelain dolls and they were all in wedding dresses. Two looked like they might just fit HeeAh, so for $10.00 I bought one and took a chance, it came with a cool crown too... It fit! A little big in the chest but unless you look from above you can't really tell. I wish I could have gotten them all the others were larger and prob SD sized. Anyway a quick photo of the dress, she went from nothing that fits to getting married! LOL Sorry for the bad photos, it's cloudy here and my batteries were dying.

Looks great! She put one kip in her neck, arms and the moleskin thing in her hips I was so suprised never had a doll come with them

Mine is quite stiff but she stands like a rock and poses great I would try to restring her before resorting to hotglue. Then again I dont like hotglue

 

Idk how to restring yet. I'll try working with her a little more.
There maybe one in my neck too. I read someone mentioned that they did that and really nice they do.

 

Oh its really easy there are tons of guides here on DoA you might need a extra set of hands tho to hold things

 

I agree that it is really quite easy and I always do it alone, even with large dolls. There are lots of ways to use third hand aids to help.

 

I'm just afraid I will make her worse if I try it!

 

Sometimes they are a bit too tight at first. You may just want to wait a bit a see what happens.

 

Good advice! Not really sure what the issue is, could be me, the right leg seems to want to twist out. I'll have to do a little more posing and maybe post and someone can give me some suggestions. Thank you!

 

So it's the left leg that is loose. The knot is in her belly area. Any suggestions? I don't know how to even start to just tighten that leg....

 

I'll get mine out in the morning and see if I can provide some instructions.

 

Thank you! I don't know if it's all one knot or there is a knot in her leg too. I saw a tutorial for a different doll and how to get her loose enough to tighten, but just not sure what to tighten.

 

I suspect the knot is hitting on something. The tension on the whole loop needs to be the same.

 

So I looked in her torso and there are two knots in there.
So the right leg when I put it in sit potion has a little click sound and it stays locked in, the left I hear a click but it just flops back down.

 

I'd take off her head and tug the string a bit while moving her leg to see what the issue lies. Then I'd try to move the knot if that's the problem.
You can hold the elastic with a ribbon or thin shoelace. (Assuming you don't have tools)

Is it getting stuck in the arm elastic?

 

The one knot is higher up in bust area, and idk if it's stuck or not. She seems fine everywhere else though?
I have hemostats from stringing Sasha's.
Is that the best place to remove the S hook at the neck? just worried I can't get it back! I do have a friend up the street that could help me hold her tho.

 

I took off her head but didn't loosen anything, just tried to move the strings as best I could but nothing changed. The knot is low and isn't getting hung up in the arms. Thanks for all the help and hopefully this will be an "easy" fix?

 

Yeah i like to put a pen or a hook there on my zaoll I had to bring the knot up in her head to fix her.
It's difficult if we can't see the doll irl tho (atleast for me) :/

 

I like the knots inside the body, but they must be positioned so they don't hit on either end. Sorry, it's still early in California! HeeAh is still sleeping.

 

I know, me too, I have to see it to be able to understand it and then even sometimes I don't! I am sure I will get it and I went and watched a few restringing videos just to familiarize myself with the process!

Oh no rush, let her sleep! I was up early and just decided to do a little investigating and see if something was amiss inside.

 

Looks better with them inside but sometimes some dolls just do not want to XD

 

OK! HeeAh is up! And her left leg does not snap into a sitting position like the right one. But it is not a stringing problem. The top ball on the leg is a bit too wide and the leg does not go into the hip socket the same way as the right one does. These are hand made dolls and not always perfect in every detail. I would recommend lovong her the way she is!

I was inspecting mine and I thought the left top leg looked bigger than the right. So there is no way to make it click and lock like the right one? aggghhh
So possible solution - sanding down a bit of the ball?
Do you know if she has a knot in the leg or just the one in the belly and then the one for the arms?

 

There is just one knot in the leg elastic and that is in the body. There usually isn't enough room in the legs for a knot, even on larger dolls. If you want to try sanding the leg ball, I would suggest trying to take a bit off the inside edge of the ball. Let us know how it goes! Remember the skin color can be a little lighter where you sand it..

 

Ok thank you for checking your doll for me! There is some moleskin in the socket too but it's so thin I am sure its not interfering. I just have a hard time making her stand this way, so I will be trying something to fix it. I have a good quality mask and yes, the color change -- and thanks for thinking of this do the inside and not the ball itself, because that would have been dumb of me !

 

Actually I was suggesting the inside edge of the ball! It seems to stick out a bit. It will be easier to sand than to modify the socket.

 

So I just did a little experiment, I pulled the foot elastic and stuck in a lightweight piece of wood to stretch the string and it does actually stay up better than it did. So first I will experiment with string tightening and then if need be try and make a little more room in the socket.

 

Yes probably right, and not really going to be seen -- just going to get some micrometer's and measure and see just how much larger it is and where. I know I should just accept it as is, but I really do want her to stand easy. I wonder if all the HeeAh's are like this? I would think there should have been a remake of the left leg ball so it fit like the right, which is perfect, but I'm a noobie so what do I know!

 

Hi everyone! I just ran across the sale and purchased Heeah in tan B. These dolls are in stock correct? I saw in a few threads that they shipped them out quickly. Having a slim mini will be new for me and I have nothing for her. Any suggestions on where to find clothing and shoes or any sewing patterns?

 

Congratulations! I think they are probably in stock and will ship out fast, I think mine arrived in a week? I can't really help with the size since I didn't have any clothes for mine and a friend gifted me a few dresses MSD sized and they fit nicely. I did get some shoes but they were too long for her feet, but just ordered another pair so I will see if they fit when they come. Her feet are 1" wide by about 2-1/8" long approx. Or something like 25.4 mm x 55 mm approx? For sewing patterns I didn't find anything yet, but when you get her and can have her body in front of you it will make it easier to find things!

 

I'm sure they are in stock since this is a last sale of tan skin. If you want one, I would order it. If you order a faceup, that may take a few days.

 

I usally search for clothes for unoa or minifee online they are both famous and slim MSD What type of clothing do you want? My 9Nine style clothing fits very well. I know dollheart have lavish clothing in slim MSD size

 

Hope to see some other people's HeeAH's here! I tried another wig, and getting a better feel for what I want to redo in her next faceup... I did get a little bloom from the Citadel sealant, but it had started to sprinkle and I should have waited for a crisp clear day. And really I wish I hadn't even sealed it because now I need to remove it, hopefully soon.

cant wait to show mine!! I have big plans for her

 

I just want basics like jeans and cute shirts. She has a really small bust so I was concerned about the fit. I was told she would ship this week so we will see what I can make once she arrives. I have no talent whatsoever when it comes to face-ups but I will try to throw something together for her.

 

I never did a faceup before either, just get some good sealant and read the instructions on how to get a coat on her face and then what you put on there can come off if you mess up or don't like it. I did just light pastels and watercolor pencils, all come off easily. Best tip was on Youtube doing eyebrows with cut paint brush, then you make them big and remove the pastel with a gum eraser. then I went over that with watercolor pencils in black and a little white to make the hairs. It's fun once you try it once! I can't wait to wipe my dolls face and try again. I hope she comes soon for you!
