OH..it makes me sooooooo happy to see all of the HeeAh arrivals!!! She is so GORGEOUS, and I am so HAPPY and EXCITED that she will be coming to live with me!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DOLL!!!

I've just finished to makeup one, they're not easy to makeup (unusual shape of face), but in the same time, so pleasant ^^

Woah! How did I miss this girl? She's beautiful. Wise doll-guardians, tell me something: what are the problems with french resin? I know it yellows under certain conditions. I really like french resin. It has a glow.

 

psammead, IMHO, French Resin is incomparably beautiful. There is nothing that compares to the translucent quality and the more "toothy" feel of it.
French Resin is not for those who can't tolerate any color change in their resin, or want the more smooth opaque qualities of "regular resin"
There are those of us who feel that the tones mellow and become lovelier with the changes. What I have come to understand is that the color that is the most unstable in these resins is red. That is the color that changes the most.
Given the choice, I'll take French Resin any day.
Also now most manufacturers are aware of the instability so they are taking steps to prevent it. You can also do things yourself, like keep the doll out of direct sunlight, or spray them with the UV cut Mr Super Clear.
And the most yellowed doll that I have is an old Custom House regular resin girl. She was BW, now is the color of a lemon, I kid you not.

 

Thanks, Stella Maris, this confirms what I suspected. (Answers that confirm what you suspected are the nicest answers to get ). I've not seen French Resin in real life but I understand exactly what you mean about the translucency and the gorgeousness and the beauty. I really want a french resin doll and, as for the colour change, first of all I live mostly in semi-darkness myself (when I'm very ill I'm photo-sensitive) and second of all it's in the nature of people and dolls to change over time. I don't think it would bother me.

As for this girl, she's very, very lovely. Is she limited? I was supposed to be getting a DT Elysia and Momo next, but Heeah is throwing a spanner in the works. I want to dress her like Estella in Great Expectations and her shoulders, which I thought odd yesterday, are starting to seem adorable. Oh, what shall I do?

 

BTW, Charloutte, those peapod hooves are adorable!

Psammead, I don't know if these dolls are limited, but if you really want one I would jump on it, as seemingly this is the artist's own operation, unlike the sculpts she sells through Dollmore, there is the chance you may or may not be able to order her in the future.
Dolly Dilemma, I have been there. I love the Dollstown girls as well, but they are so grumpy. This girl has a few differences, not just in the face, the body is also more slender, DT kid bodys are very satisfyingly tall and chunkier. This girl seems a bit lighter.
I am in love with her shoulders.

Stella Maris, guess what I did? Easy to guess really. I just ordered her in French resin. No faceup. (And I know it's OT but I ordered a Minidolling set too -- I thought it would be a good way to build up some mod and paint skills.) Oh, so exciting. I think I'll see if Viridian House will do the faceup. She will be a Victorian teenager. Estella from Great Expectations, only nicer. So now I have a heap more sewing to do and no energy to do it. Fortunately my dolls are very understanding and patient.

My IRL daughter is named Estella, I don't think about the Dickens character when I think of her, she is not emo at all. Did you know he invented that name? Totally off topic, I know.
Good for you to get the FR, it's just magical.
Charloutte, you might want to hot glue her legs, that will give her more stability, or wire them. I have MSDs that are wired, it's kind of amazing.

I was surprised at the eye size as well!
I would love to buy her, but as I just had three dolls come to my house this week, and I am waiting on another to ship I have to um, cool it for a hot minute.
But she is right up there on the list, sigh. And I do have a Mega Millions ticket for tonight

 

Thanks to Charloutte for information about wig and to Darina for confirming eye size. I went a bit overboard and ordered her 3 pairs of eyes all in the grey/violet spectrum. I've also ordered the dark mydolling wig. The very blonde Hees are wonderful, but I see mine as a dark girl. I've picked out a photo of an actress to act as a basis for a face-up and I've chosen two names. I'll wait till she's here to settle on one of them. I can see her so clearly in my mind.

Does anyone else find that sometimes you have a very clear idea of a doll's personality and then she arrives and you have to pause? The physical reality of her means you have to alter your ideas a bit. It's like she has her own personality and you can't just force a persona on her. You have to take account of her wishes too.

P.S. Charloutte, still coveting your Peapod faun legs, so much so that I'm wondering what doll I could get to wear them. Are yours on a boy or a girl?
P.P.S. ErikaJ, love your Day of the Dead doll! Is it your own faceup?

 

psammead, that happens to me all the time! I think I know what the doll is all about, then it gets here and everything goes all pear shaped.
I won a one-off at Dolpa the first year they had it here in NYC and I intended to call her for the character I was working on for the film I was doing, and she looked at me and said "My name is Quinn"
Quinn? WTF? I never thought about the name Quinn. Who knew.

I noticed that on the Korean Resin you do not have the option to select face up...since I am terrible at this I went with the French Resin

 

i really like this girl, i am low on dolly funds tough (kaye wiggs is coming out with new dolls almost each month,lol)
so when i have some new funds i think i will order this cutie...i really do like her, i am a bit afraid of french resin,so i guess i go with the korea one, i do like to do my own face-ups so that's not a problem...

Accidents, yes, hum... I have to order a wig for a dolly today on the Dollmore site. I'm scared to do it in case I "accidentally" order a doll. (What can I do? One of Dollmore's little boys will keep climbing into my shopping basket. It's not my fault. I've told him to wait -- I'll be back for him later, but when I turn around he's in there again.)

My girl is at Heathrow now, which really was quick. People couldn't fly out of Heathrow cos of the snow, but my girl somehow flew in.
