I can't seem to even open a dispute since my orders are too old. I left Paypal a message asking about it but I'm not holding my breath over them giving a damn. Also asked my own bank for assistance so hopefully one of them will be helpful. I guess I'm lucky since I'm only losing bit over $250 if things don't go in my favor but I'm still pissed off since I don't exactly have that kind of money to just throw in the wind. Wish I could go back in time and just stop myself from ordering completely to avoid this all.
If it's okay for me to ask, what was the exact lemon cat you ordered (Skin color, body, etc.)? I also ordered a supposedly in-stock lemon cat and they just kept making excuses as to why they hadn't shipped it.
pink white, human, and full body. I had tried getting a male w/ animal body but they said they were out of stock. I do have a theory on why they haven't shipped yours if your model/color/etc is different. I believe their instock is just taobao listings up at that moment that are in stock and not preorder, and I assume other colors and models are out of stock hence why they are avoiding stuff despite being "in stock" because I do see lemon cats up on taobao, but my account is frozen so I can't see the specifics.
Ohhhh. I ordered that exact kind of lemon cat back in January. And recently got my money back via PayPal claim because when I ordered the doll, it said in-stock as well, but they never shipped it to me. When asking them several times why they haven't shipped an in-stock item, they kept ignoring the question. I chose to be safe rather than sorry and opened a paypal dispute while I still could.... Maybe they did just needed to check their warehouse then... But that still doesn't make any sense because according to the Facebook group, MyDollection didn't pay the final deposit for 6 orders made in August 2023.... Now I really want to know what's actually happening behind the scenes. Also, dont worry, I secured a may doll via other means. And I also want to clarify I'm only asking because this whole situation doesn't make any sense. Customers purchased dolls but only some were ever ordered from the artists. While some dolls never even existed (That one listing of wanderlust dolls). And after several months people weren't shipped items that were supposedly in-stock..... Sadly, I dont think we'll ever get the full story on what's happening.
Oh damn. My Paypal case was closed without me getting the refund because "The case was closed as the transaction was processed correctly." What. -_- I even got multiple emails from the seller telling me to dispute the order to get my refund, and now Paypal won't give me it?!
They weren't telling you to try to do it through a dispute because they actually want to give you the money back but can't access it. They were telling you that because they knew you wouldn't be able to. Don't believe a word the owner of MD says; they've been lying to us for years at this point, and they're going to keep lying to us.
Well, I got my two Maydolls in the mail via NewCloverSinging, so even though I still lost money because of MyDollection, I'll take this as a small victory as I was able to still get the dolls I wanted in the end. I'm still keeping up with the facebook group as it appears MD didn't actually order a lot of people's dolls from the artists, but there are still some people who might be able to get their order. . . . I'm sorry to everyone involved in this mess who unfortunately won't be able to get their money back or the doll they ordered. I was really hoping the new owners would take responsibility for everything, but that doesn't appear to be what's happening.
I just received my package from mydollection of my maydoll lemon cat. I'm genuinely surprised it actually came. I did order it only recently like I stated earlier, so maybe there is some truth to the current owners words? I still won't be ordering again though.
I found out through the fb page that mydollection never placed any orders with the artist Leesbjd so I guess they never placed my order? This is a bunch of crap I can’t believe I’m out so much money. I’ve never had anything like this happen the years I’ve been in this hobby. I guess it’s time to save up for a different doll and use a better dealer. Good luck everyone I really hope anyone else waiting on orders get them.
I’m involved as well in this huge mess, well let’s call it mess while it’s a complete different matter, anyway looks like my orders were never placed, i was able to get partially via paypal some money back BUT i’m out of most of my money and my financial situation at the present doesn’t give me any chance to get from other dealers the bjd heads i’ve ordered on MD. The heads from JR STUDIO were two, one of it was very old from 2022 and the other one was on pre order so at the present is impossible to find I don’t have honestly any hope to see a refund, but i’m hoping that most of you will get it.
After they sent me the "jUsT dO a ChArGeBaCk" message I just sent them message saying that "no thanks, I want my items, send me the head, it should be in the warehouse, that's what I was told months ago and for the body if it doesn't exist I'm happy to switch it to another body or equal worth of for example doll clothes" but of course they haven't replied anything back to me, what a (not) surprise. PayPal pretty much told me I'm shit outta luck and my bank hasn't responded anything yet so it's not looking like I'm getting refunded nor my items which sucks since I'm not exactly swimming in money and losing that much for nothing really stings.
Paypal just informed me that they're giving me a full refund since Dollection never answered the claim. All things considered I avoided a lot of headache since I wasn't in direct communication with anyone in the company at all during these 6 months and my paypal dispute got resolved very quickly after the mandatory response period was up. Hopefully everyone else can get their refunds as well !
@Utane well that’s depend IF paypal protection isn’t expired, if it’s over 6 months like in my case sadly nothing can be done. My bank told me that as i authorized the payments they can do nothing even if seller didn’t ship any goods, then the partial refund i got went on my old credit card expired on May so now i will have to wait AUG to get my money back into my new card, my usual luck! @digi i’m really sorry for your situation, at least i got some of my money back so i shouldn’t complain too much..
Paypal decided in my favor today. Here's how I got the refund. My order was from January, so I was within the 180-day window (barely). I filed my case as "Item Not Received". I submitted my original receipt from Dollection as well as screenshots of all communication with the new owners stating their inability to fulfill existing orders and statements regarding the change in site ownership. I kept all of my statements unemotional and focused on the facts (i.e., I did not say I got "scammed", but rather focused on the business circumstances): In my initial claim, I stated "Communication with the seller's website has indicated that the website has changed ownership and that they have no plans or ability to fulfill outstanding orders." I waited a few days to escalate to Paypal, then escalated with the statement "Based on the communication submitted in the claim, I have strong reason to believe that the seller will not attempt to resolve this issue or communicate via this channel." I hope this information helps others submit their own successful claims. Good luck, everyone!
^ This exactly what I did for my Paypal dispute and got my money back. I also tried my best to layout the timeline of communication because I put April as the date I was expecting the items to ship and added a screenshot of MyDollection saying the items would ship then.
I was several days over my 6 months out from date of purchase when I put in a Paypal claim. At 5 1/2 months, I had received one head out of the two I had ordered. MD told me they thought my second head "was in the warehouse" (sounds like a euphemism to me...) but never followed up. I foolishly waited until a few days late for full Paypal coverage. Paypal kindly refunded me $100.00 out of the $128.00 I lost - out of goodwill. I was very lucky - but the whole thing is very sad.
Wait, seriously? How'd you find out? Buddha BJD didn't make Doggy and Berry? I wonder who did then? I had Doggy on order, and they gave me the "file a dispute" message too... a year after I ordered and thus the window is closed. EDIT: I found the post about it on the Facebook group. The whole situation with Berry and Doggy is wild.
Yeah. They made berry but not the doggy head. It's very wild. That it's a 3d print file for people to print freely. It sucks to be scammed out of that.
My bank finally responded and they can't help me either so I just sent another message to Mydollection telling them to send the stuff I paid for or to let me swap it for equal amount of something they actually have in stock. I doubt I'll hear back from them ever again but figured that at least trying it won't hurt anything.
FYI the paypal account of MD was finally flagged for fraudulent activity by paypal, and looks like there isn’t any new paypal account, the old one which was supposed to been at old owner name is the SAME of the actual one, so allegedly the new ownership doesn’t exist, otherwise why not changing paypal address?
Has anybody received any responses from them for a while? I've mailed them a few times asking about my orders (I know I'm not getting them, at this point I'm doing this purely out of pettiness so they don't think I have forgotten) and they just ignore my mails.
I’ve sent them a few since they initially said they would check on my order months ago and have been getting ignored.
The new owner of My Dollection has posted an instagram touching on what has happened. It seems the previous owner has taken people's money, not placed orders and then sold the company without revealing the amount of back orders/ unordered dolls. It sounds a very sorry situation, for everyone who's lost money and for the new owner being dumped into shit creek. It's a total mess Edit: the instagram post has been deleted. To sum up what was said, the new owner confirmed that the previous owner had taken orders and not ordered or shipped them. The previous owner sold the business to the new owner without disclosing they had around $160,000 worth of unfilled orders. The old owner strung them along for a while claiming that some old orders were at 'the warehouse' and falsely marking off orders as shipped when they haven't been. It is uncertain what the new owner can do in regards to legal action or rectifying the situation. People are suggesting that if your order is still in the paypal dispute window, then think about starting a dispute. If you paid via credit card then they can sometimes have a longer buyer protection period so might be worth checking. Currently nobody knows what to do for people outside the buyer protection period beyond informing Paypal that there is a problem with old owners paypal account being used for fraud.
The above would make sense, but the current owner said part of my purchase was in the warehouse and that she would followup - but never did. In my honest opinion, neither party is innocent.
