Dollections is saying I have to pay shipping when I all ready payed shipping. I am almost two seconds from reporting their paypal account and business to paypal for scamming. I replied to them with proof of my payment of shipping with the order number in it. In my email they also said "The recipient of your order is in the hospital and may still need to have surgery, I am unable to send shipping instructions to the warehouse or know if all of your dolls have arrived at the warehouse. We are actively working on resolving this issue and I'm sure we will have results soon." While also saying if I want a refund I can take it up with paypal. As if I didn't pay for everything A YEAR AGO.
I don't understand how they don't have access to the warehouse now unless there's been a major change again in who is responding to emails. Eight days ago they sent me a screenshot of their communication with the warehouse, so I'm very confused why they now seem to have a new person who has no access to basic information answering emails. It doesn't really add up. Yikes. Hoping they back off about the shipping costs for you
I got a reply again, today. "Hello, We apologize for not providing you with a pleasant shopping experience. We have encountered significant obstacles regarding your order, and we share your frustration. We took over the website in April, and due to transition issues with the previous owner, we are unable to access their warehouse or PayPal account. The previous owner is currently hospitalized, and we are coordinating with her assistant in hopes of finding a resolution. Once we have any updates, we will inform you immediately. Regarding PayPal disputes, we have contacted PayPal experts, and unfortunately, orders over 180 days old are no longer protected by PayPal. We deeply regret this situation. However, we will not stop negotiating and will ensure that the previous owner addresses your order issues properly. Could you please provide your PayPal account? I will forward them to the previous owner's assistant. Thank you for your patience and understanding." I might have been rude, but I literally just told them that the only thing I want to hear is that they'll be giving me a full refund, and linked my paypal email address AGAIN. Their story keeps changing, and even if we're going to believe what they're saying, this is how many ownership changes at this point??? Four????? I'm just done.
This is the part I'm having the most trouble believing. Who is buying this business, again and again??? Who thinks "this store has had it's reputation run into the ground by 3 other people! Time for me to get a shot!"
Maybe they're real life friends or family? That's my best guess, they feel like they have to help somehow and then end up getting all the shit caused by the first owner flung at them. (if it really has changed hands that many times and it isn't just a sob story to get them more time) I still think the Umdoll was their new site they planned to use for starting up clean or it was disgruntled ex-worker from them that started it, I can't think of another reason for why they'd have a list of users from Mydollection and decide to advertise it to them specifically.
Drawing attention to this post on Reddit, not my post: https://www.reddit.com/r/BJD/comments/1dadd3y/anyone_who_ordered_akheilos_through_mydollection Looks like some dolls have been ordered but not paid for by MyDollection.
Welp, this makes my decision from yesterday alot easier to make now. I'm definitely going thru with turning the dispute into a claim. But also, maybe this means that if possible people should try contacting the artists for more info? EDIT: I just looked on Maydoll's blog and it looks like they might be making lemon cat bjds anymore due issues they've been having. So Mydollection essentially screwed me out of possibly ever getting one.
While this is all a huge mess for everyone involved I'm kind of thankful for this thread since I don't feel so alone in this. I think I'll wait and see how things end up, if it starts looking that they'll go belly up for good then I'll press for a refund since no matter what I'm over the period anyway but I'm also kind of curious to see things through till the end.
Their statement makes NO sense based on my communication with them. The majority of my talks with them on email (all in May) were about their communication with the warehouse and the sudden discovery that the warehouse had my doll but couldn't ship it. So either there are multiple people answering these emails that aren't communicating with one another, or they're getting their stories mixed up and don't think that some of us might all be talking with each other to call their bluff. On May 29, they directly told me, along with that they were in communication with their logistics carrier, "Your order is currently in our warehouse in Shanghai, China. It has been packed and labeled, ready for shipment. " So....that doesn't really check out with the narrative that they haven't had access to the warehouse. Whichever way you slice it, they're just not telling the truth at this point.
Yeah, I haven't believed a word they've said since around the time I found the original creator of the wanderlust dolls, who never even produced the doll I ordered but had made two of the others in the concept drawings and was selling them separately for normal bjd prices. At this point, I think they just probably haven't realized how coordinated we're becoming. We're onto you guys, we know you're feeding us all ^#$@ instead of doing what's right. This is why I really wonder if there's some way of us putting our heads together and starting some kind of legal process, though I doubt it.
Got this today in my email after I sent them proof of me paying for shipping "Hello, We apologize for the unpleasant experience. We are not asking you to pay shipping fees twice, and there is no need to pay again if you have already completed the payment. Regarding your order, I understand that you have been waiting for a long time. We have always wanted to resolve it properly, but we have encountered obstacles, and progress has been slow, which has also frustrated us. We took over the website at the end of April, and we were unaware of the previous orders. We spent a significant amount of time organizing the unprocessed orders left by the previous owner. Orders placed before April 24, 2024, are handled by the previous owner, and the payments for these orders went into her PayPal account. Currently, we can no longer contact the previous owner directly and are coordinating with her assistant, who informed us that her boss is hospitalized. We have presented the issues that need to be resolved to the previous owner’s assistant and hope she can provide solutions. As long as we continue to have dialogue, we believe your order can be resolved. Thank you for your understanding and patience." On Instagram I was told the Buddha doll orders are in the warehouse? So how do they know what is/isn't in the warehouse? I just kinda wanna give up at this point.....
So at this point, they're just completely washing their hands of all the orders before they "took over," huh? That's the way I'm taking the part about the previous owner being the one who has to fix those problems. But guess what, guys; you took over the company, therefore you took over the responsibilities of taking care of this company's backlog of orders! If you don't have the money and dolls to complete the orders and refunds, it needs to be worked out through litigation with the person you made a contract with when you purchased their company! The Customers are now your customers. Ugh, this whole thing has me so fed up. I still don't believe there was ever any ownership handovers, I think they just keep saying they've changed hands to get around honoring orders! They'll probably have another "ownership change" in three months when we don't stop hounding them!
Yes, I completely agree with you. But who ever is running the Instagram said the orders (that mine are part of) are in the warehouse.
Maybe they're telling the truth on that, but I wouldn't trust it, not with what I know about the doll I ordered. B/ Also, they sent me a reply last night, but I was so done with it when it came in that I didn't read it until today. It's not much of note, but they said "Hello, We completely understand your feelings. We have recorded your refund request and PayPal account. We will provide this information to the previous owner and her assistant, and we hope they can process your refund as soon as possible." Which is just another way of saying "Please wait even more time for the money we won't refund you instead of bothering us about this."
This specific case aside, is there really no way to proceed in case issues happen outside of the threshold for Paypal claims? Waiting times in this hobby are so long, it's easy to break 6 months on a doll order.
Hi, I just put all the Info i have gathered with my friend about MyDollection here. We are also looking for people who ordered Akheilos too. Pls message me if you ordered him through Dollection. Screenshots you can find in my reddit post here: -> https://www.reddit.com/r/BJD/comments/1dadd3y/anyone_who_ordered_akheilos_through_mydollection/ ''I am looking for people who bought Akheilos through Mydollection. Someone I know is in contact with Moonlit (the doll artist) to figure out where our Akheilos are and if they ever reached Mydollection. As of for now our Mermen are stuck at Moonlits, because Mydollection hasnt paid the balance. So they are ready, but not reaching MyDollection. -!! I would ask everyone who ordered one through Mydollection to message me with Confirmation Emails, Paypal, etc as proof of purchase. Like that we possibly can free our mermen and get them directly through Moonlit!!- !In the slides you find emails/chats I had with Dollection trying to work through this, with no success...classic.Also chats of my friend with Moonlit. ------- general info I got from Mydollection: -they dont have access to the old paypal from the previous owner (awa). so refunds are 'impossble'-they dont have access to the warehouse of the previous owner (awa). so if your doll arrived/arrives there you are.. fucked. for unknow amount of time -they dont know when the previous owner is out of hospital. which means your money and dolls are lost for 'X months'.(Generally, I dont understand how you take over a business without having access to their money or warehouse...) -As the Akheilos arent paid of, I dont know how many other pre-orders are with the original artists waiting to be paid off.''
If one just used PayPal to pay by credit or debit card, banks have varying support for getting the money back and sometimes the threshold is longer than 6 months. It is definitely not a good sure backup tactic, though, ordering something that takes over 6 months and doesn't come with additional safety nets is always a huge calculated risk. I've veen following the situation for a bit and I hope everyone gets their orders solved favourably! It looks like they ran into some inconveniences they struggled solving (*cough* the dealer facade for just shopping on taobao fell *cough*) at some point and are now keeping the ball of lies rolling - I don't think they'll bounce back from this amount of mess tbh, but they'll still run until new orders are being made - I'd urge anyone who still can to claim their money back in the hopes that it all stops sooner.
This new narrative about not having access to any orders before April is very disturbing, and doesn't make any sense considering all of the previous information a lot of us were getting. I paid the last layaway payment for my doll in April through their Instagram account, which, if the timeline adds up, was the "new owner". I was told multiple times they would be shipping him out from the warehouse in late April, and was also told throughout the month of May that they were talking with the warehouse to get him shipped out, etc. I would not give them the benefit of the doubt, this has gone from incompetence to something else at this point.
So I’m wondering if collectively as a group if there’s anything we can do or hope to achieve to get some kind of compensation from whoever is in charge of our orders
I finally escalated my paypal disputes after one finally email with Mydollection. I mentioned the reddit post and asked how can customers even trust them at this point. Here was their response: " Hello, We have also seen the posts on Reddit. The person who posted has been in email communication with us. We are equally frustrated about this situation, and we too are victims, with losses far exceeding a few hundred dollars. The reality is that we took over the website at the end of April 2024. Before taking over, we were unaware that there were still some undelivered orders. When we posted new dolls on Instagram, we received some complaints. We contacted the previous owner, who said that some dolls were already in the warehouse, while others were still being made by the artists. In subsequent communications, we requested refunds for orders that couldn't be shipped, an inventory list of the dolls in the warehouse, and information on the artists' orders. Currently, the previous owner is in the hospital, and we are in communication with her assistant. However, we have not yet received a response from them. We will continue to follow up. You should not have to suffer because of this situation. No matter how difficult it is, we will not give up on your order and will continue our dialogue with the previous owner. Thank you for your understanding and patience." I get that this situation must be frustrating for them as well, but I don't appreciate what feels like guilt-tripping in this email.
New email from dollections. When they told me they didn't know what was in the ware house, I sent them the screenshot from my convo on Instagram about how they said the buddha doll orders are in the warehouse. 'Hello, We officially took over Instagram and started responding to messages on May 27. Due to the large volume of historical messages on Instagram, we couldn't check each one individually, so we sent you a message with our email address. From May 11 to May 27, a significant number of messages went unanswered. We issued a statement apologizing for the delay but did not explain the entire situation in the statement because we were concerned about causing widespread worry. Afterward, we began posting new dolls but received a lot of negative comments. We then paused the website operations to focus entirely on resolving the unshipped orders left by the previous owner. In fact, we raised these issues with the previous owner a month ago. Initially, the communication was smooth, and we thought the issues would be resolved quickly. When we had waited too long, we contacted their warehouse in Shanghai. The warehouse asked us not to contact them directly and to discuss matters in the WeChat group, but the previous owner did not respond in the WeChat group. When we contacted the warehouse a second time, they asked us not to contact them again without authorization from the previous owner because we had no official relationship with them. The previous owner mentioned that some orders had arrived at the Shanghai warehouse and could be shipped since we have a reliable logistics partner. We requested the previous owner to send those dolls to our warehouse. As of today, we have not received any dolls or an inventory list. Therefore, we sincerely apologize, but we cannot confirm if your doll is in the warehouse at this time. Thank you for your understanding and patience.' I have been very understanding to them in emails. Because I want them to be transparent with me like this. I think its fishy and don't understand how that works.
Am I the only one starting to believe them more after reading all of these? The timeline makes sense. I didn't get replies to my emails until late April. Before that replies were only given to people on IG, who was running that at the time I'm not sure, but this was when all the updates were ephemeral and vague. New owner forwarded information from the previous owner based on trust and the previous owner had lied or not disclosed some information. So they were telling lies to the customer from the previous owner who, for example we have learned listed dolls for sale that were not even put into production, and did not pay the final deposit on some dolls but claimed it was shipped or shipping from the artist. I don't know exactly why they'd take over the business without these account access and inventory lists etc already but as it was speculated before maybe this is like a family member or friend of family etc who would give more trust and patience to the previous owner than a stranger. Big mistake on their part. Regarding contacts with the warehouse, these took weeks to get back to me in my experience which was very confusing and frustrating to me, can't you call them right now and get an update in a day or two? but it makes sense now, if the warehouse will not acknowledge them as the owner without confirmation from the previous owner, then they're stuck waiting on the previous owner or this supposed assistant to forward this information, who has a history of ignoring messages and gives lies and vague info about the dealer relationship and shipping status and so on. so the previous owner has yet to transfer the accounts to the new owner and I suspect it's an effort to hold onto the funds in paypal and run out the claim time for those still pending. that's why the new owner is encouraging everyone who can (and some who can't, because they still lack the order data) to file the paypal claim to get their money back. Call me stupid but I'm gonna give them a little more of my patience, not that I have much options but I think they're finally giving us the truth here. I suspect there are a lot more orders than those we are discussing here that are also unfulfilled and they can't afford to refund everyone and it would be unfair to choose to refund some orders and not others I hope they can recover the money soon to everyone and get the dolls sent to those that still awaiting them. What a nightmare to step into. I hope they pursue legal action against the previous owner. whether they're in the hospital or not is not an acceptable reason to withhold the information and funds. edit to add I think I say it every time but I'll say it again: anyone who can file a paypal claim still should do so because I don't think the end of this mess is yet in sight.
Yeah, I'm also thinking that they're telling the truth here and that they're trying to solve things to their best ability but had no idea about what scale of the mess they stepped into and are now pretty much screwed up no matter what they do. It would help if they communicated these things on their site instead of relying on Instagram stories to do the trick since for example I log in maybe few times in a year, a story that'll disappear in 24 hours will definitely go unseen by me. I'd literally know nothing about what's going on if I wasn't following this thread.
Okay, okay... Here is what I am getting From their email to me: We officially took over Instagram and started responding to messages on May 27. The person I was talking to was the original owner? The person who said they got stitches in their hand? I had replied to this person up until the 27th. On the 27th they told me my stuff is in the warehouse. But the 'new people' took over the Instagram on the 27th? (I think its weird I would be told that on the same day they take over the IG.) Because I was under the idea that on Instagram I was talking to the new owner. From iPOUT's message to them: The reality is that we took over the website at the end of April 2024 (...) Currently, the previous owner is in the hospital, and we are in communication with her assistant. My issues started before April. I think for many it started before April. It doesn't make sense for me to be in contact with the owner on instagram and then they suddenly take over the instagram account as well? Would this also mean, the person who got stitches from the car accident is the same person in the hospital? I don't think we have a timeline when this person is in the hospital. If its very recent then that would make sense kinda? But if it was in April, when they took over the business. I do think I believe them that the first person is hospitalized (assuming its recent. Because back in April they would most likely be out by now). I think we are still missing some parts, like why access to the warehouse was never given to the new owner. I have been lucky that my messages get replied quickly. (4 days at the longest).
... so it seems like there are still a number of inconsistencies in the newest version of story they're giving... I was going to say that maybe they haven't suspended new orders or posted all this info on their website because this new owner somehow doesn't have access to the site. But if they supposedly took over the website in April 2024...
Yeah, there are still inconsistencies, and at this point, things have gone on so long, and I've heard very similar stories to this from other people who scammed their customers, that I'm not willing to start believing a single word they say until they start making good on their promises to deliver dolls and refund the people who want them. It's been years for some of us, at this point. They've long-since worn out their goodwill with this.
I have two orders with them, both as layaways that are now completed. One order (a head, body and full nude doll) is from Febuary 2023, and the other (two heads and an outfit) is from May of 2023. On the 31st of July 2023, they said that my first order was ready to go, I just had to finish the layaway. After that I had completed the one layaway and one was almost finished. I emailed for an update on the 6th of Dec 2023, which is when they responded saying that they were sick and hospitalized. They were waiting on the 2 heads and both orders would be ready once they were received. Once everything had been recieved and both orders fully paid for, I just sort of waited. A lot of communicating was done via the site's chat box which is now gone, so I can't fully remember our conversations, but the idea was that everything was ready to go and I was thinking that things would probably be shipped by the end of the year, holidays permitting. I can't find the box now to check the tracking, but I recieved the head from the first order at some point in early 2024. On the 24th of April 2024, I asked for an update via instagram and they said that my orders would be shipped in two seperate boxes, since they were in two different warehouses. I tried to get more updates via instagram since then but there weren't any responses. I emailed them on the 28th of May, 2024 and had a small conversation about Umdoll. They asked, so I gave them my order numbers and had no response, so I asked for an update on the 7th of June, which is when I recieved an email 2 days later saying that orders from before April the 24th were handled by the previous owner, who is now hospitalized, and so they are struggling but trying their best, etc. I'm very frustrated and upset, overall. I'm a chronic sap and find it very hard to be genuinely angry at individuals, but I am angry at this whole situation, and myself. The doll from my first order is Shirakawa's moth doll, which I'm going to be really upset about losing if my order is truly gone. Everything else, I can live without. I don't know what each new owner has seen that we haven't, there must be a reason that they would take on the business and try to run it themselves. I don't know what would possess them to keep posting new items on their social medias, I hope that they aren't actually accepting new orders. My orders are outside paypal's dispute timeframe, so my only option is to believe what they're saying and hope that they can sort things out. I hope people with more recent orders are able to get their money back.
Yeah, at this point I just considered it a loss. If it shows up it shows up but I am not banking on it.
I've gone to the creator of the wanderlust dolls they claim to have taken orders for (and are still taking orders for,) and I've messaged them through their website. I tried to message them on IG without a response, but I'm not too terribly surprised that some rando on IG coming with a message about some weirdness might have gotten overlooked the first time, so we'll see if they respond to this message.
My paypal claim was ruled in my favor yesterday. Dollection didn't even respond to the dispute or the claim, so all four layaway payments were automatically refunded to me. I guess that checks out if they don't have access to the previous owner's paypal, but whatever the reason, I'm glad to have been fortunate enough to make a claim for my order. Hoping others are able to file and get some of their money back!
I ordered a Dikadoll Amanda and a 4000 follower mystery box back in September 28th, 2023. I did a layaway and completed my layaway on December 10th. I was told it would take 4-6 months for the doll to be made. I contacted mydollections several times and finally on instagram I got a response on April 17th. I was then told that the 4,000 follower mystery box was available but the dikadoll would be there in a couple weeks, in May. I said I'd wait until the order arrived. I then contacted them again on May 21st and 28th and finally heard back on the 28th with an auto message saying to email them. I emailed them and heard back on the 29th saying they were contacting the warehouse. On the 31st they told me " Hello, We apologize for the long wait. Due to a series of issues, our ability to fulfill orders has been impacted. To protect your money and quickly conclude this order, could you please consider opening a dispute through PayPal? This will ensure your money is safeguarded and help resolve the order swiftly. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience during this time. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team. Thank you for your support and understanding." I was able to get a refund on 3 of the 5 orders but the first two I couldn't because it was past the time paypal could return my money. The amount I needed to be refunded is: 93.40. I had to email them a couple times before I heard back. It took about 11 days. I requested the refund me the money but was told: "Hello, We have also contacted PayPal, and orders over 180 days old cannot be disputed for a refund. We need to explain the situation. We took over the website at the end of April 2024, and orders placed before April 24, 2024, are the responsibility of the previous owner. Currently, she is in the hospital, and we are communicating with her assistant about your order. We have requested refunds for undelivered orders and an inventory list of the dolls in the warehouse, but progress has been slow. We understand that you should not have to suffer because of this, and we will continue to push the previous owner to either send your order or refund. Thank you for your understanding and patience." I then asked if they just send me a replacement item of the same value and was told " Hello, We have also seen the negative comments, and we don't want to argue because you haven't received your order, and we understand how you feel. Regarding your suggestion to replace your order with another doll, we can't respond to that request at the moment. The previous owner is currently organizing the dolls in the warehouse, and we need to wait until they finish before we can make a decision. We apologize for the inconvenience." At this point I'm pretty sure I'm SOL. I've been in this hobby since 2005 and this will be the first time I've been scammed
So I was able to get the lemon cat bjds I wanted. . . . By emailing New Clover Singing. I told them about the MyDollection situation and asked if they can find out from the artist, Maydoll, if she had unpaid orders from them. While the artist didn't disclose order information regarding MyDollection, she did have the dolls I was looking for. So via New Clover Singing I was able to get the two dolls I originally ordered through MyDollection. The only difference is the deep tan doll I wanted was suppose to have a girl body but will now have a boy body. But I can live with that. I feel lucky to be them at all after this whole ordeal. It seems like Maydoll started shipping orders in May and June so these dolls were recently released so I think that helped in getting the dolls. I definitely believe people should in some way contact the artists of the dolls if you can. Dolcelucedolls on Instagram made a post about trying to help customers of MyDollection. I'll link the post below. DolceLuceDolls on Instagram: "Hello everyone, As you probably know, there’s been a whole series of issues with dealer/reseller MyDollection. So I’ve decided to come forward and present myself as a point of contact for those struggling to get their orders. They sent me this email "Hello, We are currently working on a solution. Once it is finalized, we will contact you immediately. Please rest assured that we are doing our best to resolve your order." Thats is nothing else lol.
They messaged me - on Instragram of all places - this morning and continued to insist that I file disputes with paypal. Which of course were denied because the order was made in February 2023. ISTG, if there was a class action we could file in the US, I'd put my name down on that list in a second, just to make sure they don't do this to anyone else.
I doubt it because Dollection isn't in the states for us to sue. And trying to sue a company in a different country adds to an another layer of difficulty that makes it almost impossible. But I guess someone in the EU is trying to do that. And DolceLuceDolls on IG is tracing/gathering info on those orders for that? Thats what they told me in DMs.
Yeah, I'm in the FB group, so my info is up there, and I'm eagerly awaiting to see what comes of it. Even if I can't get my money back, if they can make them repay what they stole to at least some customers, then I'll call it a win.
Agreed, some people lost WAY more money then I did. I am out $100. And while that is a lot to me, some people are out way way way more then me. And I rather those people get money back first.
So. Looks like Awa, the previous owner, is now saying that the new owner DOES have access to the paypal and the warehouse. He says that Awa never gave him access. One of them is lying, and at this point, someone needs to start showing proof of receipts to convince me that they're not lying.
I didn't realize the threshold was only 6 months for paypal orders. That sucks. I'm curious if there's some way to appeal, since Paypal iirc is pretty good about protecting customers, and there are all sorts of purchases that can take a while to deliver. Anyway, I am currently going through the process of getting my refund, having opened the case with Paypal. My Dollection order has officially been canceled as well. The person corresponding with me from Dollection has told me they tested a $6 refund to me from their backend (???) which obviously didn't work since the payment was made via Paypal, and they apparently do not have access to the previous owner's Paypal, as others have mentioned above. We'll see how this goes - should be a pretty clear case since I've shown the receipts to Paypal. IDK, maybe this is too much to ask but I feel like a business should have some fail safes in place, like not only letting one person have access to the PP account that processes orders... rip bookkeeping :P
Bruh. They really need to just... not be in business. Lies? Incompetence? Who tf cares at this point lmao. Also isn't Awa supposed to be in the hospital? If they can correspond, maybe they can provide the Paypal login again to the new guy who never got it. But maybe that'd make too much sense for them
I received update today telling that they have negotiated to work with the previous owner's assistant. I am not getting my hopes up, but I will be relieved if this is true. I didn't mention it here since it wasn't much progress, but in the last email a few days ago, they asked me if I'd be willing to take my items if they find that they're in the warehouse. I told them I'll take the items on the condition that they're received and can be shipped right away, but not if they were unordered or partially unpaid. Hopefully they come through with a resolution soon Anyway, they're still keeping in touch when they could have abandoned me long ago, so maybe there's still a chance I'll see the rest of my doll or money back.
Awa did say they were in the hospital, with a photo posted on their instagram of their injured hand (allegedly, tempted to do a google image search on that post, atp) but then they said they were out and working on things again. And then when this guy took over, suddenly Awa was in the hospital with an injury again??? I've been side-eyeing that excuse so hard.
I thought the person who posted the hand was not Awa? Was not the person who posted the hand also the one who said the ownership changed and they had no help, that would have made it Una? That was in March I think.
But I thought the ownership changeover happened in May? NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE, UGH. But I need to keep reminding myself that it won't make sense until we get the true story out of them, because someone is absolutely lying, and that means it's going to just keep muddying the waters.
Ok, I'm not sure, but I remember that when the hand was posted, that person complained that the ownership had changed more than once and they now had no assistants to help them with the orders while hospitalized. When I placed my order last June, I ordered with Awa and chatted her on the widget. So I thought that would make the injured hand owner not Awa. That was in March, and current owner said they took over website in end of April and IG in May. Of course, this is only if you trust what has been said, we know that we can't trust everything since lies have been proven already, but who do they come from, remains somewhat of a mystery For all that we know, it's one person with three writing styles, or five people with two or three we know about you're right, I'm not sure there's much sense to be made of it if no one comes clean.
Yep, it's pretty much impossible to tell exactly who is telling the truth at this point, or if any of them are. How do we know that it's not still Awa, pretending to be a new owner, even??? And it makes me doubt everything they said about that new "not-mydollection" website that was a "scam" website they told people not to use. I fully suspect that they may have even been trying to get out of things then by setting up a new store so they could abandon dollection because they knew the poop was going to hit the fan very soon!
Well, learned that my order (and anyone who ordered the same thing I did) was never actually placed with the artist in the first place because that doll wasn't even made by that artist. :^) In this hobby since 2009 and never been scammed till now
I'm still in my Paypal window (Feb 15 - Aug 15) and have gotten a few updates from Dollection, but this morning I received an email recommending filing a dispute through Paypal to get my money back. I'd been planning on giving them a couple more weeks because I really wanted those bunny ears I ordered but I think they're just throwing in the towel at this point. As others in this thread have said: if you can file a dispute via Paypal, do it now.
I got an email from their support this morning telling me to file a dispute through paypal out of nowhere. I've never gotten a message from them before besides automatic order confirmation email and I had not asked for a refund etc. But I did order 2 dress sets 6 months ago now so I think they were supposed to be shipped some months ago From reading this thread now I think I am never gonna get those dresses, so I might as well see if I can get a refund through paypal. (Thankfully I had like 3 weeks of time left to even do a dispute through PP. I'll update when it gets resolved one way or the other.)
I'm starting to wonder what the hell the situation really is? Did they actually order any of the dolls bought through them or did they just accept money without placing any orders in hopes that people would just forget they ever ordered anything in the first place and wouldn't ask about their stuff later and they'd get away with it?
I got an email this morning too- my order actually went through okay, but this is probably because the doll was listed on mydollection but was held [in stock] by another dealer and I kept chasing up responses. It was a pretty weird and suspect interaction overall, but considering everything I've been hearing lately I'm glad it was! I'm pretty sure me asking for it not to be routed through dollection but to be sent directly is what saved me trouble. If it helps anyone, this is what the email I got this morning said: "Hello, I hope this email finds you well and is helpful to you. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. To expedite the resolution of your order issue, we recommend that you file a dispute directly through PayPal. This is typically the fastest way to handle order-related concerns. Please note that PayPal's dispute window is limited to 180 days from the date of purchase. If your order exceeds this timeframe, you may need to explore other solutions, such as contacting your bank for assistance. Thank you for your understanding and patience. If you have any further questions or need additional support, please do not hesitate to reach out to us." Kind of wild to be seeing this really, it's shockingly generalised/unsympathetic and pretty useless in the grand scheme of things. Sympathies to everyone having troubles
@exiel I got that exact same email, which is why I started to dig a bit to see what was going on. Since to me that sounded like my order was cancelled or they were not even going to try and ship it. If they had not sent it I would have blissfully been waiting for the shipment invoice for several more months.
There is a facebook group called 'MyDollection Scammed Us !' It seems like the people in the group are trying to organize and see if they can get people their orders. I'd suggest requesting to join (it's a private group) if you think it might be helpful.
I got an unprompted email a few nights ago from the new owners that was basically like, "We don't have a plan or intention to fulfill outstanding orders, so you should open a paypal dispute." So now I've opened a dispute. I really didn't want it to come to this.
WAIT, REALLY!? Thats disgusting. If they don't have any intention of helping people get their orders, then they should close their business/ website. They scammed too many people to keep doing business. The fact that customers had to contact the artists themselves to get this orders (and pay again) is ridiculous. The owners should feel ashamed.
I had recently ordered an in stock lemon cat in the beginning of May, I was kind of desperate for it because I couldn't find any way of obtaining one and I had read the fact they were trustworthy (way before this whole thing) and hadn't seen any of the complaints till recently. (this was my bad) I did receive a tracking number recently that is working for now, so maybe their reasons are genuine that the new owner doesn't have control of the old orders? I'm unsure. I really hope it arrives properly with everything especially since maydoll is shutting down.
Today I also received the "just file a dispute with PayPal to solve things" message. so I guess they're really not planning to handle the old orders anymore. I'm way past the 180 days since it's almost the anniversary of my first order but I guess I'll at least give it a try, fingers crossed PayPal will rule things in my favor.
No idea if it actually works but maybe attaching the email from Dollection that tells to chargeback through paypal (make sure timestamps are visible) has some leverage with cases over 180 days.
