Over the holidays I made my first BJD out of Super Sculpey. She's about 12 inches tall. I wanted to make a tiny doll in a chibi style, so she has a very square head, chubby body and large hands and feet I also gave her little angel wings. Here she is before she was painted: Here she is painted: http://www.deviantart.com/view/27469606/ After her face-up was done: http://www.deviantart.com/view/27469786/ And here she is all finished: She definitely has some posing problems. She can't stand up on her own unless she's positioned *just* right. Her hands and feet can spin around, but that's about all their mobility. Her head doesn't really move at all either. The torso joint is kind of floppy too and it's very hard to make clothing that sits well over it without having a big sash around her waist. Plus her knees don't look great. But still, I really like her and I've learned a lot about what not to do
She's so retro somehow... and she reminds me of that old timey cartoon diva Betty boop I think most dolls don't stand on thier own unless they're positioned just right. I have to hold mine for awhile to get her balance perfect, but I haven't tried balancing a commercial ABJD before ^_^; I haven't got one yet. She looks so cute in pearls
Thankyou Cursed, Taicho, Verbana and Kaye! I thought so too! I didn't plan to have her look that way, but I really liked the way she ended up ^^
she is cute I like her eyes too you have real Patience to finish her up, there are so many projects we start and neglect before finishing, i salute you for not giving up
Ah! She's adorable! I love the sculpt. She has very smooth lines; not awkward-looking at all. She certainly is very chibi in that she's small, round, and too cute! ^.^
