I've never crocheted a cardigan before but have always wanted to so I thought why not make one for my dolls? It's basically just rectangles, how hard can that be? I've crocheted blankets for them, this should be a nice easy quick project. I should be done in a few hours since they're relatively way smaller than humans, right? Hahaha NO. Severely underestimated the time it took me to make one. I initially used measurements of my 75cm but didn't add enough ease for a loose fit so I thought oh well my 70cm can wear it. But turns out it still looked nice on him~ 75cm Ringdoll RGMBODY-5 70cm Souldoll New Zenith Boy This was the initial pattern plan based on company provided measurements (didn't have the doll with me when I started this). I made a swatch and based on the measurements of that swatch, decided on the stitch count per square and then I used a hook 2 sizes up for the ease cuz I was too lazy to do more measurement math I used my ugly acrylic yarn since I wasn't sure this would fit and didn't wanna waste my good stock. Now that I have a good prototype I'll definitely use my good yarn next time! It took me a while to figure out how to use two colors while carrying both ends up since I didn't want to cut it and weave in the ends (plus it'll guarantee I'll still have usable yarn if I decide to frog it). Overall I think I spent 6-8h making the rectangles and another 4-5h for assembly and ribbing. I'm a very impatient crafter so *pats myself on the back*. Maybe I'll make this my new year's resolution: no unfinished projects!
Welcome to DoA, fellow crocheter! Your pictures are not showing up, check to make sure that you only paste the URL for the image itself into the box that pops up when you click the image tool. Links to display pages, previews, photo galleries etc. won't work. You may also want to check out the Crochet thread! While it's perfectly fine to start your own project journals and individual threads for your projects, you may get more eyes on it there, since a lot of people who are into crochet watch the thread.
