Large My 18-year-old Mano's New Lips (Limhwa Limho Mano, Heavy Mod, 7imgs)

I gave him a new face up just this year, after more than a decade of not handling my larger BJD. I wanted to mod his lips again for a long time, but I wanted to see if wider lips would work on him. So, I just painted them wider back then. I modified his face slowly over the years, the first few years of his life with me. I purchased him brand new, when Limhwa had just recently released him. Not too long afterward, I was confident that I could mod him to be the doll I needed him to be. He is not proportionately the doll I want him to be, and he'll never be. However, I love his face and only wish I could do justice with my crappy miniature painting skills (which were never there to begin with!), but alas I am only getting older and shakier with old-age. DX

I feel I have improved a bit when it comes to modifying things, so I am happy with the mods so far. His whole face has been modified, if I wasn't clear enough before.

Very repetitive extreme close ups, because I suck at photography, but he also needs new elastic which I always fail to look for and actually purchase.

lavenderbear, thank you very much for your comments! I thought I had given him too subtle of a skin texture, but I guess it does show up somewhat. I didn't want to over do it on him, since he is supposed to be a vampire, with "perfect" skin. I'm glad it can still be seen, since I did go out of my way to give him some, but a lot more subtle this time. (:

Valdemagra, I am a bit surprised by how much I didn't give a rotten peanut about modding my most expensive doll back then (and even now, if we don't count DIM MNM head sculpts ordered individually), that I went and start my modding adventures with this dude. I kind of didn't think how irreplaceable he would become one day (literal, and emotionally)! I probably wouldn't have been brave enough now, knowing what I know. Somehow, I am glad I did and on some other head sculps, I wish I had a time machine to stop myself from modifying a few...DX Thank you so much for your comments! ^.^




Forgot to include his bald photos (story of my life). I feel like they add to the "freaking hell, he's so weird-looking effect," yet I kind of wish I could keep him blank and wigless and the time. I sincerely do feel I do my (self-re/painted) head sculpts no justice, with my crappy miniature painting skills (or lack thereof). At the same time, I wouldn't have it any other way, since I do love painting things, even tiny ones that I can't really paint all that well. Lol! I need to trim his lower lashes. I had him with the same pair since 2009-ish, but I lost one when I was wiping his face clean to mod... I am a bit scared of ruining these, since I do not know they still make them. They have a clear band and are very thin hair, but kind of mega long as are all human-mean faux lashes.





Here he is blank. I feel his face while blank, is a lot more beautiful than when I paint him, but my shaky hands keep me from giving him the brows he deserves, and I feel more than anything brows make a face complete. I tried recreating the brows I gave him back in 2015, but I kind of failed. They weren't amazing, but better than these, at the very least. T__T;; I am my own worst critic... nothing serious. (:

Lol! Reminds me of the earlier years of stumbling on this genre of dolls. I recall most selling their custom creations (modded, or re/painted in some way), wanted to up the price with "OOAK." Which (in my noob of a mind) begged the question, "aren't most these dolls OOAK? Unless they are straight from their company fully faced up, I thought they kind of all fall into OOAK. Good old days. (:

Thank you once again for your kind words, Valdemagra. I love Ark! I remember an awesome DoA user had one back in the day. They used to leave generous comments on my gallery posts. I would gosh over their Ark. I always wondered if I should have given my Mano giant pointy vampire ears, since Mano already had giant ears to begin with. I like them, so I've kept them. These are the 2nd version though, the 1st were too droopy for my taste! (;
