Hello! After much planning and filling up this board with questions, I have started on my Muriel. Her head needs some sanding, especially the back because it looks very..cave mannish actually and needs some sizing down, but I am happy with the face so..here she is, bald and..well..bald! Critique more then welcome!
So far so good. Looks really early to tell what she'll look like when finished. Just in case nobody's told you yet, keep turning her, so you can see how she's coming out in 3 dimensions(reminding myself as much as you, hope you don't mind). Oh, and whenever you feel like she's starting to get asymetrical, turn her head upside down(makes it easier to see).
That's good advice from Nolita. I need to keep reminding myself too!! I think you have done a great first doll. Love to see pics when you have her painted and wigged.
Oh! Thank you very much for that advice, I really neglected the back of her head because I was so afraid I would smash her nose. Super sculpey is one of the most pliable and easily messed up materials I have ever worked with.
If you put it down for a few hours, or put it in the fridge it'll get pretty stiff. :3 I always manage to make my heads have not enough cranium to them and I'm afraid of squashing the whole thing! XD at any rate, SS is also really forgiving after being baked. I absolutely love her profile.
thanks so much! And yes..SS is forgiving, I have to sand alot of things..especially the bridge of her nose..its kind of curved on one side, and makes her look like someone who has had bad plastic surgery. behehhe
